Yes. I often do that too. And there have already been a number of people who probably visited this thread and would have clicked "indifferent" or "whatever" that will not revisit this thread. So "scientifically" the information is already skewed. As is every poll that doesn't have the right options from the get go. Isn't that how politicians do it? Offer a poll that strategically has one of the right answers missing?
-
I do care about the poll. That is why I chimed in. If there is no option for "who cares" or "doesn't matter" or "word it however you want" then we'll never know what percentage of people were indifferent as to which QB they play.

Or even go goaline and just qb sneak it. Or just hurry to the line of scrimmage and qb sneak it on a quick snap. -

You just proved my point. Wasn't it 3rd and 1? Go back to grade school and learn math. -

Agreed. Completely stupid call when you need one yard. Run the friggin ball there. -

What was the outcome of the play? What is the context of the play? Like down and distance? What time during the game? How long was Orton standing in the pocket before this decision is made? And can we see a screen shot from 1 second before this one (at the time when the decision was made to throw the football). This photo makes it look like a really bad decision, and it may well have been a terrible decision. Wish I knew those other factors though. Without them, this photo could be quite misleading. -
Russ Brandon - The [Silent] Common Denominator

^^^This....nothing like crapping on the guy's education...he is a smart man...that much is evident.....crapping on his education makes the original argument look pretty baseless and outright stupid -
If you were going to fire Marrone there, wouldn't the Bills already have to kind of have someone lined up for that job? Are there any rumors about the Bills talking with anyone? I haven't heard any. Has anyone heard any? So I would say no they don't fire him, at least not anytime soon.

I'm glad the team was at least in the playoff hunt in December. I am pissed the playoff run ended with a piece of crap performance against the lowly Raiders. (typical Bills choke job when they had me believing they weren't that team anymore) I am optimistic that the defense will be reasonably good again next year no matter who coaches them. I am very pessimistic about the chance that the necessary changes will be made to fix this offense. (primarily being bringing in new offensive coaching at minimum)

What exactly is intentional grounding?
PolishDave replied to Talley56's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of people, me included, thought that was grounding too. I was yelling at the television. Friggin refs didn't hear me.. I could see no reason why that shouldn't have been grounding. Marrone should have made a case. I don't know if he did or not. If the QB is between the tackles and he is under pressure and throws an obvious uncatchable ball (not close to any receiver) then it should be grounding. -
Can you add in an option called "Who cares?" because that is how I feel. I honestly don't really care which qb they play. The game is meaningless to both teams.

Things are looking up for the Bills
PolishDave replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Go write a letter to the Cleveland Browns fans and tell them how irrelevant their team is and was even when they were trying to make a playoff push just like the Bills were. And go tell the Jets that it is pointless that we play them every year because even though they are in the AFC East, their games just don't matter. And go tell the Packers that the Bills loss didn't matter to them. Yeah..only certain games matter........dude...your analysis on this topic flat out sucked.....(nothing against you personally) ..just the point you keep trying to make -

PolishDave replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You get to the post season by winning games period. Beating NFC teams counts too. AFC wins are simply a tie breaker. You act like NFC games don't matter at all. That is insane. And another thing..In your initial comment you took away credit for the Jets games because the Jets suck this year. So on one hand you say they don't count because the Jets suck, but with the other hand you say they are more important because they are AFC games. Your analysis is highly faulty. Any time you beat a team in your division, it is a huge plus. All wins are good. And all wins count. The Bills are what their record says they are...... -

I thought this thread was a joke when I first opened it. Then as I read down the replies, I realized how funny it really was. If you take away all the interceptions and sacks the Bills got this year from that awesome defense, you are really left with zero interceptions and zero sacks. And that my friends is fricken rocket science. -
If Cincinnati employs Marvin Lewis long enough, the guy just might eventually learn how to be a good head coach. I mean, how many coaches get to keep practicing as much as he does even though he sucks at his job.

Anyone else sick of Eric Wood?
PolishDave replied to GrizzlyAdams's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait....what..... So you're saying that Marrone didn't change the culture of this team? But what about what Brandon said? You callin Brandon a liar? -
This is what I was thinking too. I wonder if 56 was really Woods' assignment or not. Woods ran right by him as if he had his sights set on some other defender. Whoever was supposed to block 56 is the person who really screwed up on that play. If the DB had to go through Urbik to get to CJ then that DB may not have been able to make the play at all. High five to Watkins for his block.
-
He did seem to do pretty poorly his last couple years with Eli. Don't know what else was going on with that team. Maybe this is why he retired...Just didn't have it in him anymore.
-
The last time the Bills had a really effective passing offense, he was the coordinator. Eric Moulds and Peerless Price had games where each one went over 100 yards receiving in the same game if I recall correctly.
-
Or just get Kevin to un-retire.
-
I envision the two of them (along with other defensive position coaches) sitting in a meeting where they discuss how to defend the offense on the upcoming game. I envision Schwartz doing most of the talking and Marrone doing a lot of head nodding. Then I envision Marrone saying - "Sounds like a good plan." as he rubber stamps the defensive game plan. "Go get'em coach". That is about it. I like living in fantasy land though.

Clean house from top to bottom.
PolishDave replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is this hatred based mostly on yesterday's game? I just wanted you to ask yourself that question honestly. I would be very disappointed to lose Whaley. I disagree with your assessment of him. I think he is the most important key to the future of this franchise. As far as I am concerned, everyone else is potentially expendable. -
I don't think you will find one single person defending Hackett for that reason. I think you will find they either just want Hackett gone or want them both gone. People will defend both coaches because of poor play by Orton and lack of execution by the offense in general. But would anyone really defend Hackett because of Marrone?
-
Yes I thought it was. Marrone and Hackett are two peas in the same pod. That is why Marrone brought him over from Syracuse. He surely didn't bring him over for his experience and track record as an offensive coach. He brought him to run their offense here in Buffalo. I have no problem firing Hackett at all. I hope he gets the boot. But I am becoming increasingly convinced that Marrone is as much to blame for the design of this offense as Hackett is. And they obviously both lack the ability to fix what has been broken most of the year. If Marrone says he is fine with a new offensive coordinator who is bringing in a new scheme, then fine. I'm okay with him staying. Otherwise, I would rather not waste another year trying to get this inferior scheme to work.
