  1. I would have no problem with the Bills trading for Jones and upping his pay to $17 million a season for the next two years (remaining years on his deal). He led the league in yards last year and has averaged 1600 yards over the last 5 years, with 6+ TD's in 4 of 5 seasons. He has never acted in the media like AB has, and he also has provided plenty of reason why he needs a raise. He would be an awesome teacher for our young receivers and how to go about things the right way. Would I trade a first? No. At 30 years old he has maybe 3 years left. Three years of number 1 receiver numbers isn't worth losing out on a player like Edmunds or Tre White, guys who can lead your team for a decade. Not even sure i'd give a 2nd, which could provide a team a solid starter for 8-10 years. For a 3rd, absolutely. But that's the rub. Not sure Atlanta would take ONLY a 3rd for him. Maybe a 3rd and a player. Unless he made such a stink behind the scenes that Atlanta decided to move him and think young.
  2. Hard pass on Green. Injury prone and on the wrong side of his career. Julio Jones, now, would be a different story. or sign Paradis, trade a 3rd rounder for Zeitler, and draft Jonah Williams Dawkins Long Paradis Zeitler Williams
  3. From everything I've read I believe the Bills and Steelers had a deal in place. I say this because it's been well known that the Steelers haven't allowed any team to negotiate directly with AB. Yet, the Bills are reported to have reached out to AB's agent and discuss him coming to Buffalo. For the Steelers to allow that says something. Sounds like during that conversation it was established that AB would not report to Buffalo if they traded for him. So Beane backed out. I truly believe compensation was close to being finalized, but the Bills wanted to make sure AB would report. AB is such a headcase BB probably didn't want the drama. Although I've thought from day 1 that there was no way the Bills would even entertain an offer for AB, it's good to hear that BB is doing anything and everything to improve this team. This also sends a message out to the entire league that the Bills are open for business, and if you have a player/star that your looking to move, give us a call. Can't help but love that.
  4. Prior to this weekend, I was totally against drafting DK Metcalf. Now, he looks like a player the Bills would definitely shoot for. First, his combine was off the charts. When I first heard 1.6% body fat, that was a concern for injury. But the more I've watched video of him, the more I like him. His catch radius is ridiculous. He can catch over you, I even saw him catch the ball and the DB together. His reach is monstrous. He can make the one handed catch look simple. He can out jump anybody in the league and ***** the ball out of the air. He is a definite deep threat, no question. He can burn any DB in the league. He can also run over any safety because of his strong frame. The guy is a beast. With all that said, there is one reason why I believe he is a lock to be rated high on the Bills draft board. His upbringing. His situation reminds me so much of Tremaine Edmunds. DK's dad Terrance Metcalf was a OL for the Bears. You can tell hearing DK talk, he comes across as very respectful of authority. I just watched an Underarmour commercial with DK and his parents, and you can tell they raised him right. Terrance didn't let him play football until he was 12. When he started to excel, his dad kept him in check. You can tell DK has immense respect and love for his parents. Not only is he a freak of a WR, but he is also a really good kid who grew up around the game and knows the sacrifices it takes to make it. Similar to Tremaine and his dad Ferrell. McD and Beane eat that stuff up! I would be shocked if the Bills traded down with Metcalf on the board. To me, he is the ultimate weapon for Josh Allen. Think Julio Jones, but bigger, and faster. This would not surprise me at all. Keep in mind the Bills have hit virtually every pick in the 1st through 4th round since McD came on. With 2 3rds and 2 4ths, and OL as deep as it is, you can get value in day 2 and 3.
  5. It wouldn't surprise me if it clicked for EJ one of these years. He has the tools. He just needs time to get his head right.
  6. How crazy the news can get. I'm listing to the Fox affiliate here in Las Vegas and they presented it like he was "involved in a prostitution and sex trafficking ring that he is being arrested for". It came across like he was running it. Although the anchors aren't sport's savvy, they kind of have to do better than that. Sounds like police were running a sting and he happened to be caught up in it. Not running it. I feel bad for the guy. He lost his wife years ago and you never know how lonely one can get, regardless of how much money you have. This isn't an indictment on his character. Just poor judgement.
  7. In Clay's defense he wasn't playing with great QB's. That said his production never matched his contract. If he returns to his early years in Buffalo he'll be worth $3.5 million. Needed a change of scenery
  8. I remember I stood up anytime he got the ball. He was that electric. Then, just fell off.
  9. Wouldn't surprise me to see them trade down in 1st, then use draft currency to trade up in 2nd or 3rd to get the player they want.
  10. This injury is no joke. Some skilled position players were never the same in their careers after suffering from this. Tough for a young kid. Hopefully he comes out on top More than 90% of NFL athletes who sustained Lisfranc injuries returned to play in the NFL at a median of 11.1 months from time of injury. Offensive and defensive players experienced a decrease in performance after return from injury that did not reach statistical significance compared with their respective control groups over a similar time period. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27166291
  11. Cutting Trent Murphy saves us $5 million too. Just sayin...?
  12. I believe Foles has a greater effect on the QB market than Flacco. Not sure many teams were interested in a 34 year old QB who's stats were declining with a bloated contract when you can draft a young stud for value over the next 5 years that can be a better player.
  13. Awesome news for us! According to ESPN the Broncos only have $18.3 million in cap space remaining with Paradis as a FA. Says they can cut Sanders for $10 million, but what receivers will that leave Flacco? Unless Elway already knows he can't keep MP. Great news all around for us. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25988157/grading-joe-flacco-trade-ravens-broncos-how-did-denver-get-here
  14. It's been McD's motto since he arrived. Now entering his 3rd year, it seems all the players have bought into his "culture" philosophy. McD has his trusted leaders that run the locker room, and they are very familiar with his message. It's been engrained in their brains and the team has pretty much filtered out any player who doesn't subscribe to it. Is McD's "culture" strong enough where....if we signed a player like Kareem Hunt or AB, that the locker room would be strong enough to handle the drama and outside noise to a point where it wouldn't affect the team?
  15. I hope the Bills are looking at him as a G with the potential to back up C. He has had more success in the league than Bodine, Ducasse, Miller or Teller. Was a stud in WAS which earned him a 3 yr $27 mil deal w/ Jets. His biggest hit last year was playing C with injured thumb. He came back to finish season at G and performed well. Blocking schemes has a lot to do with it as well. Plus Jets were a mess. I believe signing him gives us a solid starting G, with Teller & Miller potentially fighting for other G spot with a early draft pick. If Bills go on and sign Paradis, and take OT in first round, our line would look like: OT Dawkins G Long C Paradis G Miller/Teller/2-4th rounder T 1st rounder I'll take that
  16. Both McD and Beane said Shady was in their future for next season. With all that cap space and one year left on his contract I don’t see that changing. Give Shady an Oline and passing game and he may return to form.
  17. NFL.com is reporting that DeSean Jackson wants out of Tampa. At 32, does he have any tread left? He did have a great start to season with Fitzmagic at QB (275 yards and 3 TDS first two games). Although injuries have been a factor recently, has only one 1000 yard season the last four years, and averages 4 TDs a season; I think he can thrive with a QB that can stretch the field. Bringing him on with Allen could provide a similar spark. He averaged 19 yards per catch last season. Here is an article from 2016 when DeSean said he missed playing with Shady. https://www.google.com/amp/s/theeagleswire.usatoday.com/2016/10/13/desean-jackson-on-playing-with-lesean-mccoy-man-i-miss-those-days/amp/ I think if he does hit the market Shady will make a strong play for him. Having Shady and DeSean would be an interesting combo with Allen in his 2nd Year and more confident in the offense. The price and term would have to be right though. Thoughts?
  18. Rex really has no need to get a HC job. The Bills still pay him, and he has a good paying job with ESPN. Down the road, a team may possibly take a flyer on him once he is no longer paid by the Bills, but I would bet that would come from a college team, not a pro team.
  19. I would be shocked if the Bills didn't sign Davis. He most likely play for a cheap deal, and his leadership and work ethic alone would be worth having him in the defensive room. Plus, he's an upgrade from some of the backups we have at LB. He is a guy that McD and Beane know and trust. After losing Kyle Williams, bringing in Davis makes total sense.
  20. Thats a ridiculous statement to make. First of all, all four are early in their career. Secondly, Mahomes rookie year he played in one meaningless game. Allen and Edmunds rookie seasons have shown they are already proven leaders and are further along in their growth than Mahomes was last year. Allen, Edmunds, and White are the future leaders of this team. The thought of trading all three for one player due to a player's single year is a joke, and a simple case of a media person trying to get clicks.
  21. Williams was relieved of his duties. Sucked for him cuz he lead a team who had won 3 of 40 games to 5 wins in 8. He’ll be a coaching candidate next year. It will be interesting to see who Kitchens brings in to run the D. Since he is totally an offensive coach he’ll need a strong D coordinator. Perhaps Vance Joseph?
  22. This comes across as Fangio handles the D and Kubiak handles O Co head coaches.
