  1. I apologize is if this has been said already, i haven't read all the posts. I think it's the smartest move the Pats** could make for the upcoming season. Even if they start 0-4, Brady will still be the same as always after serving a 4 game suspension or not. They are counting on him to come in, most likely with a chip on his shoulder, and play catch up and still win the division. Which hasn't been an issue pretty much his entire career. Their arrogance is what will motivate them most. Imagine them making a run and getting into the postseason and possibly the super bowl, what a slap into the face of Goodell and the NFL. Don't get me wrong here, I can't stand the Pats**. That's just how I see the behind the scenes conversationso went. Plus I'm sure Kraft is $taking$ care of Brady other ways during his suspension. Again, I apologize if this or something similar to this post has been stated already. Just my opinion of course.
  2. Rex: Is that your handlebar I'm sitting on or are you just happy I hired you! Rob: You complete me.
  3. Read a few of the comments, fans are turning it into some kind of conspiracy against the Pats***. Still the whining continues.
  4. So Goodell may not have handled himself the way you think he should have. Does that negate the fact that cheating is cheating? Brady took a risky chance and finally got caught after who knows exactly how long of getting away with it.
  5. My bad, not referring to Sabres as I don't follow hockey and am not familiar with their situation. To be more specific, had the team been managed successfully through the years before Pegs, he wouldn't have the need to blow it up after a year. He bought into a mismanaged franchise and it appears to be headed the same way. I'm not saying he needs to clean house. I feel continuity is a big factor in success. But it has definitely been mismanaged
  6. I would like to agree with you, but I think it is more indicative of a pattern of mismanagement. It's been going on for years. I understand that Pegs is new as an owner and wants things his way. However, if it was managed correctly over the years this topic wouldn't (shouldn't) even be up for discussion.
  7. Not trying to be a smart a**, but when do we see the finished product? When are we allowed to start the judgement? IMO, a good coach doesn't need almost an entire year to implement a sound defensive scheme, especially when he was handed the keys to an already above average defense. That is an indicator of a managers inability to play to his employees strengths. I could understand more so if the defense was bad last year and he had nothing to build from, but that wasn't the case. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Pegs/Whaley/Brandon made their choice on the Rex hire. Rex was unable to take above average employees and make them successful. It all starts at the top. This team has been horribly managed at all levels. Some say more time is needed for the right players to be brought in to effectively run the defense. A good manager knows how to use the tools he has been given to succeed. If he can't get the job done then that falls on the ones who hired him.
  8. I am assuming you're using a mobile device of some kind. This happens to me from time to time on my phone as well (android based). If so, a work around for google chrome is to keep pressing on the link until you're presented with a menu of how you want to open a link. Select "open in new tab". Next, slide down on you're browser to get the browser menu to open and click on the tab box (square box with a # inside l). Select the article and it should be there to read. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm sorry if this doesn't apply to your situation. I have tried to do some troubleshooting but unfortunately found nothing that corrected it.
  9. While I agree with you, I can also see how TD celebrations can lead to retaliation from the opposing team. It could come in the form of unsportsman like for jawing off, enter Jerry Hughes, or even taking cheap shots, hello OBJ. Not that all unsportsman like penalties are caused from retaliation, just a possibility. But, like I said, I agree with you and think the celebrations add to the excitement. It is entertainment for the fans and it's a bummer that these rules had to be put in place to govern the players actions. Had it never been an issue before, I don't think there would be the need for the rule. The highly celebrated TD's are usually due to a game impacting score, have reason for celebration, and are part of the game, IMO. To get a personal foul because of that celebration is losing composure because the celebration isn't directed at anyone specifically, while the penalty would be. Again this is all just my opinion.
  10. Play action that results in a check down to Karlos Williams for 7 yards.
  11. No game is a good game to lose, at least when your overall record is the first determining factor. As stated above, if you are operating under the law of averages and figure there will more than likely be some more losses, then yes NFC teams are the preferable choice. There are scenarios where a 12-4 record with 3 NFC losses is better than a 13-3 with three AFC losses, but that's only if the other AFC teams that are in contention for a playoff spot have a 12-4 record or less. Otherwise the team with 13 wins will get into the playoffs before the team with 12, regardless of conference wins.
  12. That's where good old fashioned thinking comes in, instead of relying on a computer to think for you.
  13. I also like this thread. Easy enough to track the teams who have a recent history of playoff visits, WC and DC included. Should those teams not perform as expected, then the focus shifts to the teams that are doing good. How is that premature? Why is there usually s thread regarding the other AFCE games every week plus other AFC games, because of the playoff implications involved. Again, I like this thread and I will be following it. Good job OP
  14. Forgive me, but I don't understand this outlook. You say it is garbage time however the purpose of doing that is to try to score points and get back in the game, which is exactly what Buffalo did. How can that be considered garbage time?
  15. There is a Pats** defender behind the left goal post. Possible he may have been able to get around him, but there is a good chance he would have been stopped.
  16. There is another defender behind the goal post. Surely he would have stopped Woods.
  17. I was thinking I was going to be watching a speech by Rex... LoL
  18. I thought that one was particularly funny, it directly relates to my profession.
  19. Whaley has actually done quite a bit in a relatively short amount of time in the grand scheme of things. Gets my vote..
  20. Just to play devil's advocate, he was pressed into a starting type role in week 8 last year. He carried 22 / 44, it's a small sample size, I know, but the closest to starting and being an every down back.
  21. If this is about comparing last year at this time to this year at this time, the QB position has improved by leaps and bounds, IMO
