  1. I like it as well... It's about damn time this team has an attitude. I mean besides lay down and die...I for one am glad to hear (read) these statements. It gives me the feeling that this team finally believes in themselves. What a change of pace from years past. I think Stevie's comments are his way of saying we are not going to roll over and play dead. On a different note, are u guys (and gals) of the belief that after years of one team dominating another team, as is the case with the Patsy's, they get to a certain level of complacency?
  2. I am sure that the Bills FO knows why they are hanging on to that cap space. remember this is year one of rebuilding. Maybe they're holding it for a big free agent splash next season. the truth is we don't really know why. Lets use a player that I'm sure most of us remember as an example, in Aaron Maybin. Drafted 1st round and never really panned out for us. so we tossed him into the "Dumpster". In the meantime the Jets were licking their proverbial chops to get at our garbage, while the DC was Mike Pettine I might add. Once Pettine got a hold of him, he put him in a position to succeed in a new system. does that mean that Burton will have that kind of success, there are absolutely no guarantees. All I'm saying is there are definitely some values to be had out of said dumpster. As another poster stated, sometimes a change of scenery is all that's needed. so before we go throwing the rope around his neck, let's see what he can do. Just sayin
  3. Forgive my dry humor, I believe I had been up for just over 32 hours as I have kids and work 7 nights a week...on to my point... Yes, trade a guy who doesn't want to be here (although I don't believe he came right out and publicly stated it) to a team for their CB#2... I realize that teams won't trade for a CB#1. CB#2 can start in place of Gilmore until he returns. When he does return we would have a good tandem of CB's on the field. As I believe it would be easier to find a FS from our roster than it obviously is finding good CB's. Might not be the perfect scenario but then again neither is picking up somebody else's castoff. why should we be under the belief that somebody else's roster cut would come to Buffalo and all of a sudden play better for us. Again, might not be a perfect scenario. But I believe it would be an upgrade of anything else right now.
  4. Maybe he wasn't planning on posing for pics at all, until the recipient of the good deed was notified of who it was. If it were me in line and I came to learn that it was SJ I would have asked for pics also. Also a possibility of him tweeting what his intentions were was a message to all of his 625,000 followers that when you're in a position to be able to do something so generous like that for somebody to go ahead and do it. it appears to me that Stevie doesn't need the publicity. IMO, it was nothing more than him doing something nice for somebody else. The truth is we don't know what his motivation was and I myself am going to take it at face value. Good for you Stevie, maybe more people will do the same.
  5. F.J. is too important to let go IMO. If Hack daddy plans on run first then pass type of offense we need two good backs, especially fielding a rookie QB. While T. Choice is a decent back that gives opposing D's a different style of running to defend, he is not on the same level as F.J. Defenses are not threatened with Choice like they are with Freddy. But it does make me wonder if we could trade Byrd away would the level of talent drop off enough to where it would be a justifiable move. In other words, would it be easier to replace Byrd with somebody already on the roster and being able to adequately fill the void vs. trying to fill the void left by Gilmore's injury. I think it's easier to fill Byrd's shoes than it is Gilmore's. So IMO, trade Byrd for a good CB and he can move to CB#2 when Gilmore returns.
  6. We could always pick up Tim Tebow after he gets released... Lmao.... J/K....oh wait, he's a quarterback (kinda), not a cornerback...
  7. As far as any record goes, I would agree with you. however I do think it is necessary in order to gauge the starters and what their abilities will be. Almost all team related activities leading up to the first game of the regular season have meaning. While it may have been a stretch, for Irsay to come out and publicly blast his coaches and players, the bottom line is Buffalo showed up to play, and Indy did not. It doesn't matter what level it is on, starters or 3rd stringers. Indy was out coached and out played. it feels good as a fan to finally be sitting on this side of the fence. Let's go Bills!!!!!
  8. I don't remember exactly how it was stated, but there was an article that was put out talking about how the D.Mar and Hackett led offense of the orange scored most of their points in the second half...
  9. "If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. I am the punter, NOT a kicker. There is going to be hell to pay for the next TBD'er that calls me a kicker...so help me God"
  10. Food for thought... The more people that discuss his writing, the more he's going to write. Wether you like the guys articles or not, he is drawing your (the public's) interest. He has done his job and garnered attention because his WGR interview has now become a topic on TBD. I personally do not care for his articles either, which is why I say the best way to get at him, just simply do not discuss it at all. Just my 2¢…
  11. In my opinion Nix and company knew exactly what they were doing when they drafted Dareus, as they knew that Chan's time was up and Whaley and a new regime (coaching staff included) would be taking over. Nobody could foresee the personal tragedies that were going to happen, hindsight is 20/20. It would appear that Dareus is now placed in the right situation to not only succeed, but excel. I will wait for another year to cast my personal judgement having been a year removed from the personal anguish he has suffered. I wonder how many of us would be able to perform at the top of our game while suffering what he has. Had the aforementioned defensive players been put through similar situations, I would be very willing to bet that their numbers would be pedestrian at best. So while many on here are able to condemn, I give props to a man who has been through so much adversity and still been able to compile the numbers that he has. Here's to wishing M.D. a more than stellar year and chasing all the naysayers back in to their proverbial hole.
  12. Unfortunately this will not have much of an impact when it comes time to play the Ravens. I suppose every little bit helps though. It's about time these Bills start circling the wagon again.
  13. With Smith restructuring his contract, I am inclined to believe that he sees big things this year for the Bills. Surely he could have landed elsewhere on a roster as a 3rd or 4th WR / and definitely would have drawn attention as a PR / KR. But he instead worked a deal where he could fight for a roster spot just for the opportunity to stay in Buffalo. My guess is that he sees a lot of good things for the Bills this year (and ones to come), to the point he will take his chances. I see this as a very encouraging sign for this team. I don't want to drink too much of the kool-aid just yet, but the kool-aid man has just busted through the wall and shouted his catch phrase..."OH YEAH"
  14. Just curious how Kolb would look against the "vanilla d"? Also makes me wonder, this is a new offense to both QB's right? With that being said, I'm sure Kolb hasn't had a lot of exposure to Mike P's defensive schemes so to throw more exotic looks at him makes me think they are setting him up for failure, albeit so E.J. experiences success. Which further backs up the stance that D.Mar has his sights set for E.J. to have the reins come week one. It's brilliant I tell ya, brilliant....
  15. If a kicker can win us a few games with a 50+ yard boot...I'm OK with him being drafted 6th rd. Just think, one of those wins may very well push into the playoffs. What's that 6th rd draft choice worth then? If any other late round draft choice has game impacting ability, I'm sure No one would be against the pick. Just my .02
  16. +1... Actions speak louder than words... I, myself, will choose to reserve judgment until I've seen a full season or two. Everything sounds nice in the papers, however papers don't put us into the "W" column.
  17. Spiller will be a maniac this year. Regardless of QB, there will be check downs & screens. It will only add to his total ypg. I agree that he will be better conditioned as well. I remember a quote a little known movie (Lol) "it's time to kick the tires and light the fires"
