  1. I believe that Roman will be able to adapt his scheme to the players talents far better than Hackett (Marrone), therefore making the O-Line better, even with the same personnel. I think that's why that haven't done as much to address the O-Line in the off season, like many thought they should have. Reading between the lines on Whaley's comments about the draft, that not too many players will make it, IMO, is because they know the O-Line is already there. The pieces are there to put this puzzle together, but Marrone was trying to build the puzzle looking at the back of it. The Bills are going to be awesome this year. They knew they needed the playmakers on offense and went out and got them. The QB situation will play itself out and one of them will step up and separate themselves as a #1.
  2. I wonder why he defended Harbaugh so much and then did a 180 on his coach? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/04/19/alex-boone-dramatically-changes-his-tune-about-49ers-dysfunction/
  3. I assume that draft boards are pretty much set already and that's why there are questions regarding the timing and ineffectiveness of a smokescreen 2 days prior to the draft. IMO, it would still be effective though. Whaley sits back and waits until 2 days before the draft and then makes his visit. Wouldn't that in turn make teams question his motive for such a late visit? Kind of a "now that the boards are set, I can go visit my guy". Making it appear that he is very interested and can visit freely because the boards are set. Would that not raise some eyebrows, or is just that apparent that it's a smokescreen?
  4. This is all hypothetical: Ok, so Whaley puts out the smokescreen and goes and talks to Petty to provide the rest of the teams with the misinformation that the Bills are interested in him, all the while having true interest in Garrett Grayson. However, the Steelers (pick #56) are also interested in Grayson to groom behind Ben. With Whaley showing interest in Petty, the Steelers do not feel it is necessary to trade up to pick #49 in order to get Grayson due to the smokescreen from Whaley. Bills are on the clock and now able to draft Grayson because the Steelers didn't trade up because of the false interest in Petty. Did I understand that correctly? Thanks for helping clear it up for me.
  5. Smokescreens? I don't understand this, what is the reason behind it? My thoughts are, why do teams need to do this? For example: When it comes time for Team A to draft, they are going to take who they need, one that fits their scheme of what they are trying to build. Why would they draft a player that doesn't fit, just to block Team B from drafting that player? It would become a wasted pick at that point, no? What is the purpose of a smokescreen when it comes to the draft (and yes, I understand the principle of a smokescreen, to offer many options to whoever it is directed at so as to not tip your hand in the direction you are going)? I have been curious about this for quite awhile.
  6. I wonder how much viagra that'd take???
  7. This seems a bit contradictory, IMO. Without having something or someone (R.R.) to compare payment to, you can't really question "Whether the payment is just and consistent and administered fairly".
  8. Since it's a beat the Pats* pick me up thread ... https://youtu.be/3nyFGYDYVFw Always liked this one.
  9. Good times... can't wait to do it again this year. Except a little more ass-whoopin going on this time. It is time for the Bills to hand the Pats* a beat down.
  10. IMO, it is very accurate. It shows what Flacco was able to accomplish single-handedly. Coincidentally enough, roughly the same as E.J.. Had the supporting cast around him been better, then there is a good chance they would have advanced to the playoffs and possibly won a few games. With that being said, the QB's that posted mediocre stats and still we're able to advance to the playoffs is the exact situation the Bills are in now. Very talented team at the skill positions (minus QB and OL) on both sides of the ball. An average QB should be able to carry this team into the playoffs and hopefully fairly deep.
  11. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "relative" humidity. The sweat that builds during the course of said incest. Lol... that was even gross typing it... lol
  12. Part of Chip's master plan to "get back" at J.M. for bailing on him at Oregon? Ego problem for Chip, as in he has to have last laugh... /sarcasm...
  13. All very valid points. Well put. I agree but I think the O is going to light it up this year. I think EJ will break out this year and this will be a high powered offense. The idea that they will be a run first type of O, opens the door for bigger plays in the passing game as defenses will be keying on the run. The receivers will have big games and shush the naysayers. Of course this is all just y opinion and you know what they say about that.
  14. IMO... the Bills will not play 2 prime time games against the same team... 9/14 MNF 8:20 @ NYJ 12/10 TNF 8:30: vs NYJ
  15. I agree that he is telegraphing the route, but the DB can't necessarily jump the route. What if the route is an out and up and the DB jumps it, He's gonna get burnt. Just my .02.
  16. What's wrong with the Bills D-Line? They just extended KW and are working to keep the majority of the D intact. I am sure they will restructure MD and be able to keep the D-line together for the next three years.
  17. True, but it seems as though they are losing more "key" pieces to the defense this year as opposed to previous years. Which possibly could have a greater effect on the Bills success against them. With the FA resignings + FA additions to the team and Rex as HC now, this definitely isn't the same old Bills that BB is used to. Ryan's coaching tendencies are no secret, but Ryan will be facing NE with a completely new team, that IMO, is much more talented overall than what he had while with the Jets. I believe the Bills chances this year will be much better than say oh, THE LAST 15 YEARS!!! The Bills will be the AFC East champs this year, bank it. It's the dawn of a new era in the AFCE.
  18. The fact that McCoy is relatively close to signing a contract after reportedly not wanting to go to Buffalo is a great sign, IMO. It would seem as though the initial shock factor has worn off and he may be coming around. It likely means that he will report when required. Hopefully he plays with a chip on his shoulder and makes sure that the Bills Brass come out looking like geniuses and making sure that the Eagles know the Bills got the better deal for allowing this trade to happen.
  19. No. I feel that with the offense that is going to be installed Matt Cassel will be just fine.
  20. That was my thought initially as well, Brown and Dixon to be the RB tandem. I went back and did some research on Dixon's #'s while under Roman as OC to further solidify your point on A.D. Rushing Stats Year G GS Att Yds Avg TD 2013 16 1 28 56 2.0 2 2012 16 0 21 78 3.7 2 2011 16 0 29 87 3.0 2 TOTAL 78 221 2.9 6 Receiving Stats Year G GS Rec Yds Avg TD 2013 16 1 3 30 10.0 0 2012 16 0 -- -- -- -- 2011 16 0 1 6 6.0 0 From what I can see Boobie D. was not heavily used in Roman's system and after looking at it, I don't expect we'll see much of a change. I may very well be wrong as this is just my opinion. I see nothing more than the role of an emergency backup RB and a definite ST player as pointed out by the OP. My hunch is the RB position will receive a complete makeover. Edit: my apologies for my columns not lining up correctly, i am doing this from my phone.
  21. The team is still built to win now. The defense is excellent, expected only to get better under Ryan/Thurman. They signed R.I., a sign that they are addressing the o-line and should have it solidified come training camp. RB, same thing, shouldn't be to hard to address through the draft. On that note, I would like to see EJ light it up this year. I personally think the young man deserves a fair shot. Thrown to the wolves, as stated by the OP.
  22. I don't know, I find it a little hard to believe that J.M. just went out and chucked the ball up hoping his guys would make a play. 13 TD / 1 INT are pretty decent numbers to just throw it up. I also didn't watch the Bears in 2013, so I very well may be speaking out of place. IMO, if the Bills don't explore every option then they haven't done their due diligence in their QB search. They are not in the position to leave stones unturned. I am glad that they are active, better than the alternative.
  23. Think about it, dumpster fires look pretty Cool, from a distance, Enter Cutler. At the end of the day though, it is still just someone else's garage.
