I'm speaking of the current front office.

The Bills usually don't like undersized DEs.

That was the compensation for the Diggs trade. The Texans had that pick, don't ask me how.

It's not unusual for the 2nd tier of C prospects to be available in R4-5.

Only two picks before the Bills are on the clock again.

They definitely needed a good C prospect.

I would not take a QB in this draft.

Jamari Thrash or a good short yardage/power RB would be my preference here. Probably taking a DE or CB.

As ineffective as Davis and Diggs were at the end of the year, it's a low bar to cross.

I think I'd rather have Thrash at this point. I think Rice may overlap Coleman too much.

Aside from short yardage and goaline, I think they're going to be facing a lot of defenses playing them pretty tight to the LOS this year until these wideouts prove they can hurt them downfield. They need someone who can grind out some tough yardage, because I don't think there's going to be a lot of room to run, especially early this upcoming season.

I saw more of a Moulds comparison with Legette, though I also think he may end up kind of like a Cordarrelle Patterson.

The QB knows more than we do as average fans, but he's still a player and not a scout. He hasn't worked in the pro or college personnel department.

Input is ok, but there's a fine line there.

He could end up being better than that, but I can also see him being a guy who makes a handful of highlight reel receptions on 40 catches for 400 yards.

Hopefully it works out, but its a little concerning if the QB is making the skill position picks.

I'd like to see them pick up a power RB in R4 or 5. Aside from short yardage and goalline situations, I'm concerned that until the Bills establish a deep threat, defenses are going to play them pretty tight and there's not going to be a lot of running room. Depth on both lines is always useful on day 3. So are DBs. A decent C prospect, in particular, would be a nice addition. Another WR with some downfield speed is a big need, but I'd rather have gotten a more complete player than what is likely to be left.

It may be that NFL teams just don't like him, but before anyone gloats, I would offer the peanut gallery a cautionary tale of a guy named Khalil Shakir. He was another prospect who was generally regarded as a day two prospect who got caught up in the numbers of a deep WR draft class and fell into the 5th round as teams had already filled their needs at the position. That type of thing can happen in a deep draft class. I don't know for certain if that type of scenario is playing out here for Franklin or whether teams just don't like him as much, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Greg Rousseau has been a good pick. At that point in the late 1st round, if a DE develops into a core starter and a solid player, you've done well. It's often a poor investment, with teams chasing fool's gold and a lot of them never do much of anything.

I can't say I know anything about him, though I do think I've seen him mentioned in this area of the draft. They definitely needed a reserve DT that might develop into a starter, so I assume a good pick here. They ran to turn in the card fast enough.

The Bills like their DEs to set the edge against the run. Tough for undersized guys to find a place.
