  1. The problem is it wasn’t the 2002 season. It was half of the 2002 season. From week 9 on he averaged 212 yards a game, and his team was 3-5. He threw 8 TDs, was picked 10 times, sacked 24 times and lost 4 fumbles. He was right back to being the sub-par QB that he was prior to those 8 games. It wasn’t “everything but the 8 games was an aberration,” the 8 games were the aberration.
  2. The NBA is a machine and by far the best run league. That is why they have closed the gap on the NFL. It’s a global game that’s filled with drama. Buffalo would support any pro sport team. We love sports. With that being said today’s Hollywood, superstar-driven NBA doesn’t fit in real well with Buffalo’s desire to be blue-collar underdogs. We’d be the only fan base that would rather have Joe Ingles than LeBron James. Also, I don’t see people forking over $1k plus per ticket, per game for 40+ nights. That’s the floor seat costs in the most markets. I don’t think anyone is under $50K a pair for feet on the wood. It just isn’t a good fit.
  3. I lived in NE at the time and Bledsoe was done. The game was evolving and he was being left behind. He came to Buffalo and played 8 good games and then was atrocious. He had a losing record, less than 200 yards a game and as many turnovers as TDs. If people expected it to be different it’s because they werent paying attention to the player that Bledsoe had become. BB didn’t think twice about sending him to the Bills for a 1st.
  4. Good topic!! A couple of things though: - Hackenberg MAY be worse than Peterman. That is so incredibly hard to comprehend but it’s true. He’s that kind of terrible. He couldn’t play at Orchard Park High School. - The reason that the Pats keep James Ferentz is probably as simple as the relationship that BB and Kirk Ferentz have. I don’t think that there I more to it. - Gentry makes obvious sense. - I like the Siragusa thought as well. - Carlos Henderson is another guy of some interest to me. There is little harm in trying to turn over the bottom of your roster. You have some guys that are just bad. Why not try out some other young guys that we don’t know if they are bad yet?
  5. Shaq has only played 2 games and has been decent. He is Ryan Denney 2.0. He is pretty good against the run and has positional versatility. He just isn’t a pass rusher. He is a fine rotational DL just not worth the 1st. Star was a mistake IMO. I’m not worried about his tackle stats. That’s just too much money to pay for a guy to eat blockers. Jonathan Hankins was out there until the start of the regular season before signing a $2M deal. He’s a better player than Star IMO.
  6. About what I expected with the pleasant surprise in Minnesota. They are a very bad football team. This year was about developing Allen. Let’s hope that happens.
  7. Absolutely!! That was always going to be the case. The most obvious solutions now should be to play the young guys and hope that they develop. Get snaps for guys like Taron Johnson, Neal, Teller, McCloud, Foster, McDermott, Croom, etc... Your roster may be the worst in the NFL. You know guys like Holmes and Mills can’t play. Why not see if the other guys can be pieces in the future? I’m not even talking superstars but maybe you can find a slot receiver or a swing OT. We have needs everywhere. I’d also see what I could get for any of the vets that aren’t going to be a part of the future either.
  8. I’m thinking that they are about a 4 win team. They always win one that they shouldn’t but that already happened. They’ll get a couple of division wins and then maybe 1 or 2 more.
  9. Great thread!!! Such an interesting topic to bring to the board!! Should the Bills continue to start the 7th overall pick, that they went all-in on and has played well or statistically the worst QB of all-time? I really think that they need to go back to Nate to see what he can do. He’s young and hasn’t really gotten a chance.
  10. No need to make excuses for him. He had all kinds of opportunities and hasn’t been good. He was the lowest graded WR in the NFL last year. He may get better but he has been bad.
  11. And he is averaging 2 catches and 35 yards a game. He has a 57 yard catch too. His numbers are just like they were. He just isn’t very good. He may improve and I loved the pick. I was wrong.
  12. He might be okay but he is nowhere near those other guys. He has a long way to go before he even belongs in a conversation with Kupp and Juju. Their numbers this year are close to his combined through the first 2 years. They’ve also caught 15 more TDS between them. Zay may end up okay but there is no comparison.
  13. This is for my own sanity. If you want to advocate for a guy, at least know his name. It isn’t “Krupp” or “Coop.” His name is Cooper Kupp. This holds true for all players. If there is a guy that you really want, you should at least know his name. I’m not trying to be a ? it is just a giant pet peeve. We wouldn’t be saying that. Those guys are miles ahead of Zay.
  14. Krupp doesn’t exist ?
  15. Krupp would be a bad pick. I’d take Juju though.
  16. The reds will probably come out for the Monday Night game.
  17. Yeah, it’s risky but it comes with high upside. Football guys are typically the last to adapt so I doubt that we ever see it. It’s an interesting thought. As an example if the Raiders would have played out Derek Carr’s deal, tagged him and traded him for a bunch of picks the Raiders may have been better off? If we ever get to that point I think that you will start to see starting QB salaries drop and maybe even a new middle class of QBs that play an important role in case the team misses on the “next guy.”
  18. I didn’t read it but I think that the suggestion is that when you get near the end of the rookie deal you move to the next rookie deal. Maybe you even tag and trade the QB for a boatload of assets.
  19. That’s kind of what I am getting at. This isn’t like, “they haven’t had a chance to invest yet.” They used more than a 2nd on Zay and a 3rd on Benjamin. They were planning on them being core members of this receiver group moving forward at the time they acquired them. The same can probably be said for Jordan Mathews. Not one of those guys is going to be a key part of your receiver room. They may be in the room but as guys not focal points. This regime just kind of butchered the position and now need to hit the reset button.
