Ha ha, I got UB at +165. In terms of the Bengals, I honestly just think that they are the better team. I expect them to win. I took the extra 10% instead of the 2.5 points for that reason. I think that the Bengals win by more than a score.

Rapper Mac Miller dies of apparent OD
Kirby Jackson replied to Buffalo716's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Mac Miller was a super talented guy. It’s awful to see. For those of you that don’t think addiction is a disease, gtfo. I live with a recovering alcoholic that has been sober for just over 16 months. I see the struggle, up close, every single day. She either had to make a change or it would have taken her life (or someone else’s). There are a lot of people that haven’t been as fortunate. Many people have lost a loved one to addiction. If you don’t believe that addiction is real, you are wrong. If you aren’t sensitive to those that have lost that battle, you are an @hole. -
I hit a nice score yesterday with the UB money line and A & M +9.5 so I am taking a shot today. I teased the Ravens to -1.5. I also used the Rams, Bengals (money line), Vikings, Panthers, Saints, Browns (money line) and the under in Skins vs. Cardinals (not all in the same bet obviously).

It is just every white pass catcher. If Cole Beasley was released everyone would assume the Pats. As soon as one hits the market everyone says “I hope that he doesn’t kill us when he gets to the Pats.”

I’m not implying anything. I’m saying some guys don’t like him, some do. One thing to clarify is that it has nothing to do with Tyrod. McDermott never wanted to bench him. Rico thought it was best and McDermott empowered him to do that. He actually apologized to the team after. He owned it publicly as well. That earned a lot of respect for McDermott. He had told some people some things and then acted differently. That was where the issues came from.

No, not Whaley. It is a few players, some that are there and some that are gone. McDermott doesn’t have buy in from everyone. There are some guys that HATE him. You can choose to believe me or not. I really don’t care. I think those that have been here a while will vouch that my information has always been credible.

It’s Morris (or James Conner if he’s available). Morris is going to have a big year. If he’s still out there add him and don’t look back. He’s looking at 1,000 yard season. When in doubt go with the guy that will see the football the most.

Spending big money on a non-qb

You can’t stop getting other players in case your QB isn’t good. They traded up to number 2 last year for Trubisky. What if he’s great? What if he makes a year 2 leap like Wentz or Goff? If that’s the case Mack may push them over the top. -

Just for the remainder of his contract. It’s very rare that you are saving cap space to sign that franchise QB in FA. Cousins is an exception. Typically you have to find your QB in the draft. Something like 80% of the starting QBs in the league are with the team that drafted them initially. That doesn’t even account for situations like Baker & Rosen. -

It depends on your cap situation. Typically the teams with QBs on rookie deals have lots of cap space. Look at what the Rams did this offseason. They paid Cooks, Donald, Suh and Joyner. They are a Super Bowl contender. A team without a franchise QB can afford to miss on a guy like Cooks. You can overpay for the delta between Cooks and “poor man’s Cooks.” The cap growth has slowed but hasn’t stopped. Cap growth is tied to the expiration of media deals. The media rights will continue to be massive and the cap will spike commensurate with new deals. Live sports drive these networks in the cord cutter era. The broadcast rights deals continue to grow (see Thursday Night package). -

I don’t agree despite their “conclusions.” The cap has grown so much that you can’t be in trouble by paying other players. Find your guy and get them. If you sign the right guys you’ll be better off. This is becoming more true every year with the rate of cap growth. -

If you have cap space and a QB on a rookie deal you do it. If not, you act more responsibly. It’s really not complicated at all. -
What I haven’t seen from Peterman
Kirby Jackson replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s a good idea IMO. Even if it gets picked it’s worth it to keep the DBs honest. -
What I haven’t seen from Peterman

My concern with Peterman is that he is too easy to defense. The OL can’t protect for long. If you are scheming against Peterman you rush the passer, jam the pass catchers to prevent the quick timing routes and run underneath everything. The ONLY way to keep teams honest is to step around the rush and hit some plays over the top. -

I guess you can but so far there have only been a couple of pushes (and 1 from me). I think Allen starts week 5. If you think it’s a push, call it a push. -
Grading the Pegulas Thus Far
Kirby Jackson replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
C’s for me I love that they aren’t afraid to spend. That includes facilities, amenities, players, coaches, etc... That is the single most important thing that an owner can do, enable those underneath them to do what needs to be done. The negative part is that I don’t believe they really know what they are doing. They’ve bungled multiple hires (Murray, Bylsma, Ryan). They are still learning on the job but I don’t believe them to be the savviest of business people. That has been corroborated by multiple people that they have had dealings with. They were affectionately refereed to as “the Clampets” during the Harbor Center project. The important thing is that they have money though. If they hire the right people and enable them to do their job they will be good owners. The best owners in sports (think Peter Holt in San Antonio or the Rooney’s in Pittsburgh) stay in the background. -
Bills season over/unders

FWIW I’m going: - Bills wins 5.5 under - Allen starts 12 push - McCoy rushing yards 1,150 under - Leading receiver yards 750 over - Leading receiver catches 65 over - Total INTs 15 under - Player with most INTs 4.5 over - Player with most sacks 8.5 under - 1st win week 4 over - 1st 2019 draft pick number 6 under - Bills Pro Bowlers 1.5 over -
The game is simple. Just predict over or under for each: - Bills wins 5.5 - Allen starts 12 - McCoy rushing yards 1,150 - Leading receiver yards 750 - Leading receiver catches 65 - Total INTs 15 - Player with most INTs 4.5 - Player with most sacks 8.5 - 1st win week 4 - 1st 2019 draft pick number 6 - Bills Pro Bowlers 1.5
