  1. I don’t see it getting to that point. Washington was a bit of an extreme. The Atlanta Braves aren’t changing their name as an example. If they do, so be it. I have a lot of stuff that will be obsolete (including the shirt that I have on now). As long as the “Buffalo” part doesn’t change I’ll manage. I don’t think that it’ll happen though.
  2. Counter: Engram has started 25 games in 3 years. He can’t stay healthy. Tate and Sheppard started 10 a piece and Slayton put up decent numbers because he was the only guy in the lineup worth $.10. The Cardinals, Lions and Chargers all belong ahead of them imo. They all clearly have a better top to the receiving depth chart (which is most important according to Barnwell). Their #2 WR is better in (or at least equal) in all cases. They have good backs (not as good as Saquon) but good. The Giants don’t belong in the top half of the league IMO.
  3. 8 feels about right but 7 for the Giants feels asinine to me. That one jumped out at me (and I’m a big Saquon fan).
  4. I don’t think that they want to have to deal with Dawkins and Milano after the year. Maybe one of them but not both. They can always use a tag if need be on one of them. The Tre contract has to come after this season too as you said. That’s going to be massive. I feel like 4 years and $60M for Dawkins would be numbers that both sides would be comfortable with.
  5. Would you rather have an OL of only ND guys or the field? The fact that it’s even in consideration is wild. Stanley, Martin and Nelson is a strong core.
  6. I’m fine with that deal. I think he’s a quality LT. He’s a top 10ish blind side protector. He’s going to have to stay healthy and play at the level of last year and not the year before. If he does it’s an okay deal.
  7. They’re going to pay him before the season IMO. We are looking at something like 4 years and $60M.
  8. Sammy still has moments when he dominates. He’s SO physically gifted but he’s missing something. I’m not sure if it is heart, mind or both? If he had like 8 catches for 160 and 2 TDs I wouldn’t even blink. If he had a 1,600 yard season I’d shrug. The ability is CLEARLY there but something is missing and has been.
  9. Without being too much of a homer I agree 100%. Thielen is a nice player. He’s in the Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Juju, Lockett tier IMO. They are good players but don’t keep coordinators up at night. Diggs’ combination of route running and explosiveness put him in a tier above. He’s considered by many as the best route runner in the league. He has elite hands and is tough in traffic. He’s been a bit of a malcontent but his skill set is elite.
  10. See I like Evans but think he plays in the perfect system. He’s big, fast and physical and they chuck it all over the field. Say what you want about Jameis but he did throw for 5,100 yards last year. It’s not like that doesn’t help those 2 receivers. I’m not sure how much more we can expect? Julio is clearly in the top 3 for me. A healthy Julio has the best tools IMO.
  11. Love the DJ Moore inclusion. He should be in consideration. Is it weird to think that his elite trait is consistency? Allen just feels so reliable. That’s my Cooper issue.
  12. Honestly, I thought he was the best player in football right before he lost his mind.
  13. I’d have Cooper lower. I just think he’s overrated. Diggs or Golladay would be there for me. I think I’d probably go with Golladay.
  14. I don’t know the guy but sounds like he has a pretty good resume. It looks like he’s filling Dave Wheat’s role basically. I’ve been pretty adamant that the Pegula’s are not high end sports business minds. They had been surrounded by some early in their tenure but those people are now gone. It’s important to start to fill those roles with capable people. This feels like a step in the right direction.
  15. The Patriots will inevitably use “Maine” instead of “Mississippi” to gain that “competitive edge.”
  16. Yeah, they haven’t yet. He’s going to get 4 years and $160Mish next offseason. If I’m Dallas I probably try to make him play under the tag again but that’s playing with fire.
  17. I do but we disagree on who is mad. If you said “Dallas is pissed ?“ I wouldn’t have commented. I interpreted the smiley face as laughing AT the pissed off party. It wasn’t just you either. Others had the same reaction. The point remains that giant contracts, at the same position, are great for impending free agents. They celebrate them because it means they will be getting more. That’s true in all cases.
  18. This is what I responded to.
  19. The guaranteed money over 5 years would still be in the $140M.
  20. Mango touched on it earlier. Mario was a dominant player and we didn’t like him then. It happens all of the time in Buffalo. It’s strange. It’s like a weird insecurity complex. That doesn’t happen elsewhere. We hate guys picked early and guys paid handsomely. We like the guys that “earn” it. It’s really stupid but that’s how we are.
  21. Dak doesn’t care if they look like smart or idiots. He cares that he gets paid. He’s not furious about this. He’s THRILLED. That’s why I originally chimed in. This is a great development for him (and Watson, Lamar, etc).
