  1. Sorry that I call it like I see it. The opinion that the young guys are 29-32 in terms of backup rankings is a dumb opinion. It isn’t a reasonable one. It isn’t one that any team would agree with. If you said “I’d prefer to start Mariota over Tua week 1 If that was my QB room” I wouldn’t agree but could see the argument. If you would say “I’d prefer to start Sean Mannion over Tua week 1 if that was my QB room” I’d say it’s dumb. ?‍♂️ To each his own though, feel free to block
  2. Don’t cry too hard that was a work trip so I didn’t have to pay for it ?. It’s pretty brutal though. It’s cheaper to sit down and play while getting a comp drink than it is to go to the bar and order. Whatever you lose at the table is is a better investment ??
  3. Are you going to Nashville? That’s a good trip too. Vegas is going to be absurd. I’m going to try to spin it into a business trip so that my room, flight, meals, drinks, etc... will be paid for. The one guy that I do business with out there has like 6 season tickets or something. I’ve helped him out with tickets in the past for stuff so hoping he might reciprocate. I’m not going to hold my breath but it’s possible. Basically, I’m trying to stick someone else with my Vegas bill ?.
  4. It’s super-expensive. It may come down a touch but it isn’t going to come down a lot. That’s just what the NFL in Las Vegas is going to be. I doubt we will see less than $300 a ticket to walk in the door. I booked a flight but haven’t bought tickets yet or a room. The Venetian isn’t taking reservations and that’s my favorite place to stay in Vegas. From my experience, you have to stay at the right place there or it’s not as fun. My thinking is to book a refundable room there as soon as I can and wait a little while on the tickets. They are going to be what they’re going to be. I think that @Rocky Landing is right though in that It will be $2K or so for a couple of tickets, flights and rooms. Depending on what you eat, drink and gamble it could be a lot more. Last year I ordered a double Tito’s and soda at the pool, $41.38.
  5. Dan Shaughnessy, is that you, you ugly SOB?!?
  6. Either way, they won’t let the giants fall. Now a bunch of little guys may not survive this but stubhub, Ticketmaster, etc... will be just fine. I promise you are at ZERO risk purchasing tickets through them. I know a little about the subject.
  7. Wow, I get dumber every time I open this thread!! There is not a team in the league that agrees with this. That’s 0-32. So Burrow is fine to start but Tua is the 29th best backup? I swear about once a year I decide that I need a break from this place. This may be that time.
  8. I’ll say this, he’s more likely to start than Davis, Hodgins, Jackson and Fromm.
  9. Definitely a long shot but a year ago he was going to be a top 20 pick. He has the ability, if healthy, to take that job. The “if healthy” part is tricky; he has had MAJOR injuries. I’d say that it is less than a 10% chance at this point but the odds are still higher than some of the other picks to start this year.
  10. Oh great another thread where we can argue about Covid and whether or not there will be fans at games!! We need a few more of these discussions (sarcasm). To the OP, the answer is no. That’s a stupid idea. If people aren’t allowed at the stadium they won’t be allowed outside of the stadium either.
  11. Well when is it okay to start the young QB vs. the QB with experience? That’s EXACTLY what this conversation is about. Ryan Finley started 3 games last year. That’s 2 more than Barkley has started since 2016. It’s 3 more than Burrow has started. Why are we more comfortable with Burrow if he has never played? People are talking out of both sides of their mouths in this thread. You either believe that you are better off with a scrub vet or a young guy with talent. As far as I’m concerned there are only 2 viable situations. You either have one of the vets that has started and had some success recently (ie Jameis, Dalton, Trubisky, Brissett, Keenum and Mariota) or the young guys with ability (Tua, Love, Herbert, Hurts). You can debate the order within those guys but, IMO no one else can even be considered. The next 2 would probably be Mullens and Allen. They kind of fall between those 2 categories. All 32 teams though would rather give Jordan Love or Justin Herbert a start than Chad Henne or Matt Barkley. They don’t need to see them take a snap to know that. That’s why everyone takes their first snap at some point.
  12. Stubhub sold to Viagogo last year for over $4B. They aren’t just going to file bankruptcy 7 months later. The majority of the money that transfers is from buyer to seller. Stubhub doesn’t release those funds to the seller until AFTER the event takes place. That is in the terms and conditions. It’s the same thing as a baseball game that gets rained out. They are in no jeopardy with the current situation. You are protected there if you buy tickets to future events. It may end up as a credit which some people may not like. I don’t know exactly how they refund but they won’t be taking the money and filing for bankruptcy. Their revenue is strictly from fees and advertising.
  13. 100% agree with you. I believe that Singletary could be (and will be) a star. He’s just so smooth. Moss is a great change of pace to him. He’s the hammer and has a physical, violent running style that will wear teams down. If you add Josh to that equation you have potential for a dynamic running game.
  14. This is where I’m at. I think that Singletary will get about 70% of the snaps but that may be a little high. Epenesa will be in the regular DE rotation as well. Those 2 positions, along with DT, the Bills don’t really have starters and backups. They play a rotation. Those 2 players will be in the rotation. I believe that Bass wins the kicker job. As a little bit of an off-the-radar guess it’s possible (not likely) that Trey Adams wins the RT job.
  15. So are the Bengals making a mistake if they start Burrow over Ryan Finley week 1? One has played in the league and the other hasn’t.
  16. So just to be clear you’d feel better starting Matt Barkley than Tua or Burrow week 1? If that’s the case I VEHEMENTLY disagree.
  17. I mean I feel good that guys drafted in the first round are bigger threats than Chad Henne. Who are the 10 guys that people like more than the 1st round picks? Where should Joe Burrow fall on this list if he weren’t starting?
  18. Gregg Williams Also, Bledsoe was DONE the year before. I was living in Boston at that time. I remember the Bills had a parade when they traded for him. I was cursing at the TV. He came in an played 8 great games and from that point forward was no better than EJ, Edwards, Losman, etc...
  19. Perfectly said!! The best scenarios are the weird Dalton/Winston type of things along with the Tua/Herbert/Love situations. You either want a borderline starter that has proven they can get the job done or a young guy with a lot of natural ability. The worst situation is a veteran scrub.
  20. I guess if the argument is 1 game it’s valid. If it’s 8 games it isn’t. I want the backup that can go 4-4 in 8 games not the one that can go 1-0 in 1.
  21. ...and if the Packers has the choice of one or the other for this year they’d pick Love all day long. All 32 teams would
  22. If that happens the litigation that they will end up in will be infinitely more expensive than paying it out. That won’t happen.
  23. Or we could all agree that EVERYONE knows the situation. No one needs to come to TBD to learn about COVID-19. If you want to argue about what will happen take it to off the wall or PPP. The main board is to talk football. We may or may not be able to attend games. NONE of us know for sure so there’s no reason to argue about it here.
  24. My approach (not sure if it is right) was to book my flights for the games I’m (hopefully) going to. I will stay with my brother in Buffalo, waiting to try to book the Venetian for Vegas and have a friend that works for AJ Capital that owns the Thompson & Graduate in Nashville. He reserved a room for me at a rate. I don’t have tickets to either road game and am going with my brother to the opener. Basically, I’m trying to lock in as much as I can while things are as cheap as they will be. So far, I’ve spent $44 out of pocket for all of that. If we are unable to attend, I’ll get the miles and trace credits that I used back. I have no overhead for the Nashville or Buffalo at this point. Vegas will probably take some sort of deposit but that will be it. I’m not going to purchase the tickets until we get a lot closer. The prices won’t be that drastically different. Vegas is going to be brutally expensive but it’s going to be what it’s going to be.
  25. The prices didn’t seem too bad. Like $120ish upstairs, $200ish downstairs. We were here last year: https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bnash-renaissance-nashville-hotel/
