This made me laugh. -

I do but we disagree on who is mad. If you said “Dallas is pissed ?“ I wouldn’t have commented. I interpreted the smiley face as laughing AT the pissed off party. It wasn’t just you either. Others had the same reaction. The point remains that giant contracts, at the same position, are great for impending free agents. They celebrate them because it means they will be getting more. That’s true in all cases. -

The guaranteed money over 5 years would still be in the $140M. -

Mango touched on it earlier. Mario was a dominant player and we didn’t like him then. It happens all of the time in Buffalo. It’s strange. It’s like a weird insecurity complex. That doesn’t happen elsewhere. We hate guys picked early and guys paid handsomely. We like the guys that “earn” it. It’s really stupid but that’s how we are. -

Dak doesn’t care if they look like smart or idiots. He cares that he gets paid. He’s not furious about this. He’s THRILLED. That’s why I originally chimed in. This is a great development for him (and Watson, Lamar, etc). -

This is, inarguably, a win for Dak (and all QBs). Josh Allen is having a great day. Sam Darnold is having a great day. Baker Mayfield is having a great day. Lamar Jackson is having the 2nd best day. That doesn’t matter though. QBs get paid regardless. Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, Jimmy G, etc... this is a HUGE win for Dak. It’s a loss for Dallas now. Dak will get more in 8 months than he would have weeks ago. He’s looking at like like 4 years and $160M with $120M guaranteed (plus the $33M or whatever from this year). That’s more than he asked for. Oh yeah, I forgot about him!! Good call -

That’s the insurance for KC. 8 years from now the market value of Patrick Mahomes will probably be $60M plus a year. KC took the chance that it won’t be Alex Smith in order to lock him in at a smaller number. -

I think the exact opposite. He will play this year on the tag but then probably gets like $38M-$40M a year for 4 years. A giant contract is a good thing for all of the others at his position not the opposite. Mahomes is obviously the best player in the world so I don’t expect the next guy to top it but it resets the market in Dak’s (and all QBs) favor. -

Nope, everyone will hate him. It’s strange. Mario Williams was an all-pro and people complained about his contract. The same thing is going to happen with Tre. It was either that or he doesn’t sign so yes. That average is good value over the life of the contract imo. -

If Josh plays to the level that I expect he’s going to be in the $30M’s. I’d guess something like 4 years, $145M with $115M guaranteed. Basically the Goff contract plus inflation. TBD will absolutely lose its collective minds and Josh Allen with simultaneously become public enemy number 1 in Buffalo. Buffalo fans hate all highly compensated athletes. It’s the strangest thing ever. -

That’s a good deal for KC. How the contract is structured will be interesting. Where are the outs for either side? -

I don’t disagree but that’s a strong guarantee number IMO. As crazy as it sounds the longer deal with the higher guarantee swings back to the player IMO. Years 1-4 (advantage player), years 5-8 (advantage team), years 9-10 (advantage player). Football is a violent, violent game and the Chiefs would have to insure against an injury at least at some level I’d think? Mahomes is taking the security in this case vs. straight market value. I also assume that it’s tied to the cap at some level whether officially or unofficially. -

If Dak is getting between $35M and $40M a year why would you expect Mahomes to be at $30M or less a year? -

$400M+ is my guess. I’ll take a shot, 10 years $425M, $250M guaranteed -
I don’t think we will have that issue. In a league that’s like 70% or 80% black you won’t last long if that offends you. The only player kneeling for that kicks for the Patriots. No, not a player. Just a random Bills fan. He’s furious about it. He’s also furious about masks. He is mentally challenged though (seriously) so not sure how much offense to take.

David Njoku requests trade - any interest?
Kirby Jackson replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They aren’t getting a 1st!! Deandre Hopkins just got traded for a 2nd and a bad contract. Njoku is probably going to fetch a 5th that becomes a 4th or something like that. -

Sad but true -

This is an EASY yes (and I’m a big fan of Knox). If the Bills trade for Njoku it will be the best TE room in franchise history. There I said it. -
They play most years now against Atlanta

Who is the starting QB in NE and more poll
Kirby Jackson replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before Cam got hurt his numbers were ahead of his MVP season. He didn’t go there to battle Stidham. He went there to be the QB of the Patriots. IF (big IF) Cam is healthy he’s playing all year. There’s no doubt about that. He wasn’t going there otherwise. Stidham is not good. I think we are still better than them. I’m with @Stank_Nasty in that they went from 6 or 7 wins to 9 or 10. We should still win that many games but the Pats can now compete. -

Stidham sucks. The Pats know that and HAVE known that. Cam isn’t there to battle with some scrub. He must be healthy and he’s there to play. The Pats now can make the playoffs. I voted that they will but am not that confident in that. They were going to be a 6 win team with Stidham and they’ll be about a 9 win team with Cam. -
You don’t think that they are similar runners? They always make the first man miss in the backfield and get as many yards as they possibly could. Both guys have great instincts as runners. That’s why they are high YPC guys. They also finish in the red zone. With the exception of the Josh Allen sneaks I think that they’re virtually identical as runners. Josh uses the middle of the field more for sure compared to Tyrod at the beginning of his Bills career. He used it a lot more at the end than at the beginning. Josh is really good in the intermediate. Tyrod was one of the best deep ball throwers in the league at the time. That’s where they differ.
