London game will be streamed on Yahoo
Buftex replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I always watch games on NFL Rewind...just plug a laptop into your HD TV with an HDMI cord, and you are golden...it's notquite HD, but pretty damn close. No streaming issue. -
I am not sure if the the rule is that they "won't pick" teams with new coaches, but rather, they will not force a team with a new coach to participate. Because they have had such a difficult time drawing teams to do the show over the past years, about 2 years ago, the NFL mandated that every team will be forced to participate at some time or another. No team in their first year with a new coach will be forced to participate, though, as I understand it, they could volunteer. I think too, they will not require a Super Bowl participating team to participate the following season. Also, no team will ever be forced to participate more than once within (I believe) 5 years. Like it or not, the Bills will be on it sooner than later. For those who have watched the series faithfully, I think most would agree, the Rex/Jets season was the most entertaining of all. Rex swears like a mother!@#$er. I loved hearing the pious Tony Dungy among others, get so upset with Rex.

Chris Brown addresses Mike Williams issue in Fan Friday
Buftex replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't remember where I heard it, but I did hear that one of the determining factors for Harvin, in deciding where he would play this year, was that he wanted to be used as a "real wide-receiver" and not just a "gadget player". Perhaps this has something to do with his placement on the depth chart? Ultimately, I don't think it will make a huge difference. -
The Who are up there for me, as well...but I just can't put them quite in the same class as the Beatles and Stones. Won't argue about musicianship (Entwistle was amazing, and Moon was as fun to watch and listen to as any drummer can be...) but, IMO, they suffered a little bit from Pete being, essentially, the sole creative element of the band. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but Pete (and even he seems aware of it) has a tendency to be a little self-indulgent and repetitive. There was nobody in that band who had enough credibility to real him in, or balance out his worst traits. Though I loved it as a kid, cuz I thought it was "deep", if I never heard "Tommy" again, I would be very happy. I am thinking of going to see them in another month or so, but I want to see what they are doing live. If "Tommy" makes up the bulk of their set, I will likely skip it. Again, I love the WHO, but I don't think they ever really hit the amazing period of consistency, like the Beatles or Stones, where they put out 4 or 5 masterpieces. I would argue that "Who's Next" and "Quadrophenia" are their two legit masterpieces...what came before and after was uneven. Townshend always seemed to be stretching himself between some obligation to the Who, and the desire to do his own thing. There may not be a better rock-n'roll record....

Yeah...I thought the first part of last season was the best in the history of the show...I thought they had (finally) hit their writing stride...but now it back to the herky-jerky flow its' normally had. It just appears the show has too many characters for the writers to balance, while keeping their eye on moving the story...not the best writing I have seen...

This thread, like all music threads here, has become dancing about architecture.

Charles Clay REPORT: Dolphins won't match offer sheet
Buftex replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Clay is going to be great, but I fear, as always, unless he has 10 td's and 1000 yards, some will insist we overpaid for him. I think there is a good chance he won't become the Pegula Bills answer to the Pegula Sabres Ville Lleino.... -
I love both bands...but honestly, this is not all that accurate.

We Need To Be More Like The Packers
Buftex replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, the only thing Green Bay has over Buffalo is that they have been winning more football games than they have been losing for the last 20+ years....a winning culture! This is exactly why people shouldn't be freaking out that the Bills are "overpaying" for talent. They are trying to jumpstart and build that winning culture...winning takes care of a lot of things. -

Won't mean a thing without a QB? Sorry...just had to beat the regulars to the punch! I am very excited about this! -
Funny, I watched the fist two episodes on Sunday....then, right after, I went on Facebook and saw that there was a Robert Durst story "trending". Always late to the party!
-
I am glad I am not the only one...I enjoyed the episode, but the last 10-15 minutes were kind of confusing... I really have no idea what happened...guess I have to use the closed captioning function, I just couldn't even understand what people were saying... couldn't understand what Carol said to Rick about the woman and the kid...what happened to them?

Thoughts outside the box: Move Hogan to CB
Buftex replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny...people seem to think Hogan is the next Wes Welker, or a completely useless piece of garbage, around here. Which is it? -
What were the "A"'s on some hands supposed to signify? "Assimilated"?

Go On Record: Stevie vs. 7-11
Buftex replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am surprised the Pats are looking to Stevie, before Greg Jennings. IMO, Jennings would be a nice pick-up for a playoff caliber team, needing some slot depth. -
Rolling !@#$ing Stones!

Who would you rather have, of all of these?

I voted RJ and Chan! Almost voted for Mularkey... -
Suddenly, everyone wants to talk Bills
Buftex replied to fansince88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha...zuba fashion! I have a pair that my staff bought for me, way back, for Christmas...funny thing is, though, they were Broncos zubas, not Bills....bunch of girls...they don't know the difference! Never wore them! -
Sounds about right to me. Hogan wasn't garbage, as some around here act, but he certainly had a lot more opportunities to redeem himself than most guys were given. It seemed that Marrone & co. were determined that Hogan was our 3rd guy, no matter what, good or bad.
-
Frigging Doug Marrone!

Not a Duke fan, or a college hoops fan for that matter, but Laettner was one of the small handful of guys I really enjoyed watching college basketball, because of. Maybe his WNY roots had a little to do with it. He was a blast to watch. As a big NBA fan, I was disappointed that his NBA career wasn't better. He was to college ball, what Kevin Garnett was to the pros. Too bad for Laettner, he never went to a good team in the pros. Enjoyed the special quite a bit.

No disrespect intended, but I am not sure I agree with this.

Suddenly, everyone wants to talk Bills
Buftex replied to fansince88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On a related note, kinda, I was wearing a Sabres t-shirt yesterday...somebody asked me if they were triple A, or double A baseball...not the first time somebody has asked me this. -
Me too... I really don't understand what just happened...

Unfortunately, living in Texas, I still get the requisite, "man, that must suck, losing back to back Super Bowls like that..." I just smile politely, and don't bother to correct them...Cowboys fans live in the 90's as much as we do.
