  1. I think defensive coaches live in fear of having a weak secondary getting burned. Lots of hard work by a defense can be frittered away instantly, and repeatedly, if you have a weak cornerback. Like, the guy can just be picked on all game. This inspires them to keep a steady supply of young CB's ready to step in at all times.
  2. I want them to have a great O-line too, I'm just noting that it's easy to get caught up in over glorifying a unit right after a playoff game. I'm not convinced that the O-line is the most important factor in professional football. Obviously, it's important to have a good line, but let's not get ridiculous.
  3. It nice to rave about the O-line, but Luck is the highest ranking prospect since Elway. It's the quarterback first and foremost. And they haven't really proven much yet, I mean it's Wild Card Weekend, let's see how far they advance before proclaiming "O-lines win championships!"
  4. Again, you see WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE.
  5. Hmm..so YOU are assuming that he was talking about ALL Mexicans? I never assumed that he was talking about ALL Mexicans (including my daughter and her mother and all of her family). So why did you?
  6. You don't trade FOR this kind of guy, you trade him OFF your team.
  7. There weren't many games on yesterday, so the guy that has a big game gets a thread..... He's good.
  8. If they can't get a WR, I hope they add more diversity to the backfield. I kinda like the idea of them having a bruiser that can wear down a front 7, bring them in, and maybe force the D to keep some bigger, slower guys on the field...opening up the passing game a bit. This guy caught my eye, and might be available in the later rounds or even as an UDFA
  9. That's not what I ( or the guy I quoted) said. I want at least one big time playmaker. Ideally they will add a top tier WR, and a top tier O-lineman, probably one from the draft, and one from, FA. I expect 2 new receivers (TE, and or WR), 2 new linemen, and a new RB.
  10. I think Buffalo has suddenly become a more desirable landing spot for assistants now that they have an up and coming QB. While I agree that McDermott doesn't seem to be a master strategist, or game manager, I give him some slack when it comes to filling out the staff. It can take some time to establish yourself, and your authority. It can be a catch-22 situation when trying to attract coaches to a team that has been crappy for decades.
  11. This is how I have been looking at it. Just getting upgrades at 5 positions on the Offense would be huge, and not very difficult to achieve.
  12. It's funny, because now I'm kinda thinking it might not be a bad idea to make statements (especially starting well before the Free Agency period begins) that you plan to spend lavishly and how you have many needs, etc. Just because you say it, doesn't mean you have to do it. Just get the attention of all the players and agents right away. Let them think about playing in Buffalo ("I like that new QB, Josh Allen"..."I watched their games, they could use a guy like me"..."Buffalo ain't such a bad place"...etc), and you get a little space in their mind and imagination. Otherwise, as a player, you might not even get around to looking at Buffalo very closely...there are so many other teams. Some of these signings happen quick, and when a guy is considering similar offers, I think you have a better chance if the guy knows a bit more, and has already spent some time looking into a particular team. There are lots of guys in the NFC that have never even played against the Bills, let alone been to Buffalo. Buffalo just isn't on their radar. And who would you want your agent to call first, a team (especially a perennial loser) that says "we're going to be very careful with our money", or the team that announces "We have lots of cap space, and we're ready to spend!"?
  13. I was sure he was gonna come out with a statement declaring that they planned to take a "lavish and foolish" approach to Free Agency this off-season.
  14. I would be shocked if they tagged him. He's not worth that. This draft is loaded with DLine talent.
  15. Teams whiff on second round picks ( and 1st) all the time. The Patriots have made plenty of poor picks. It wont hurt the development of the team. If Green is healthy I would make that trade. There isnt a WR as good as Green in this draft, and it would really help Allen's development to have a top wide receiver THIS season to play with. First, it would help his confidence. The second year is often more difficult because teams are better prepared to counter the QBs strengths. Second, just working with a great receiver is an education. Green could develop into the James Lofton role. Get Green, and draft Metcalf or another top prospect.
  16. Three pages in, and no one bothers to post the players name? (I would think it would be part of the discussion) #36 Jalen Davis I'm curious of there had been any prior incidents involving this guy (particularly with Thomas), either in this game, or the earlier one..
  17. He was. I'm a huge Allen supporter. He had a stretch of bad throws. Why is it wrong to point it out?
  18. He should have some good throws, but the bad ones are really bad
  19. How do you know he wasn't supposed to try to draw them Offside?
  20. Allen is throwing the ball like *****
  21. Yeah, Kelly was definitely struggling. All one has to do is watch his last playoff game against the Jags...it was over. I think our general perception of Collins at the time was clouded by the fact that he was replacing a Hall of Famer. Collins probably could have been serviceable.
  22. That's laying it on pretty thick.
  23. The only conversation I want to have about Zay Jones is "where can we find someone to push him down the depth chart?".
  24. I want 5 new starters on the Offense. Upgrades at 5 different positions would be transformational. Say, a couple O-linemen, another RB, and 2 new Receivers (maybe a WR and a TE). They don't have to all be stars (one would be nice), just the best players on the team at their position, top of the depth chart. Honestly, it isn't that tall of an order, considering the talent level of the current offense. There is no one special, except McCoy, who is now on the downside.
