This isn't funny any more. It's become a tiresome interruption thrown into every draft thread, every few pages. -
California (again)

I live in the center of Los Angeles.... that is one of those ridiculous gas stations that one comes across now and then. The real price for 87 is about $3.20. I go to an Arco that is $2.99 -
Refugee Crisis in the U. S. (?)
Prickly Pete replied to B-Man's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm kind of surprised that I have never seen it mentioned, but if you live in Los Angeles you have certainly noticed these EYESORE gates that line the streets of every crappy Latino neighborhood. They are EVERYWHERE! On many streets they run continuously down both sides of the street. These were all built by Mexican homeowners to keep each other out. NO ONE LOVES A ***** GATE AROUND THEIR HOME MORE THAN A MEXICAN HOMEOWNER! Just plop down into Norwalk on Google Street View.... https://www.google.com/maps/@33.9066416,-118.1537654,3a,75y,97.29h,82.68t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sb0yo4YxQuFlWzAvQ-hKiZw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 -
Marcellus Wiley Story on NPR's "Only a Game"
Prickly Pete replied to Tisker A Tasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My most vivid Wiley memory is of him on the radio, talking about how, while players like to win, and that it's nice to make the payoffs and things like that, but that the majority of players don't get that emotional about it, and that they what they consider a "good season" is one where they have good stats. I appreciate his honesty, and fully understand why players would feel that way...but that ain't the guy I would want as a team leader. -
Rams & Chiefs Offensive Lines

It was the same in both games. Not even once did they make anything happen on their own. There are plenty of plays where they even have some space. -

Nonsense. Doesn't matter if Luck was fatigued, the Wrs caught the ball. But in EITHER game, never managed to make anything happen on their own. -

Here is the Chiefs Colts game... Conveniently, we can see a second game where the Colts get ZERO (NONE) big plays from their WR's. One game was a win, where they got an early lead, and could get by mostly just eeking out 1st downs. The second game, they lost...they couldn't keep up. Mack is the only Colts player in either game that had anything that I would consider a dynamic play. He had ONE in the Chiefs game (at 10.18). Mack has a string of nice runs there, but it's late in the game, and the Chiefs are essentially playing Prevent to stop long passes. The Wr's can catch the ball, but EVERYTIME they are tackled almost immediately...IN BOTH GAMES. They can't get enough space, or can't break tackles...they are "Just Guys". Now lets look at the Chiefs... They had 5 big plays (most by receivers) where a guy caught the ball and turned it into a big play, or a running back made a big run out past the line of scrimmage... 0.36 0.50 1.47 4.17 12.06 These are the kind of plays you need to get to be a serious contender. -

Weak. Playmakers catch the ball, and make things happen. They even keep a stat for it, ya know. It's called Yards After Catch. -

Ok, I hunted down the drives from the Wildcard game... Point out the great plays from the receivers? Show me some missed tackles and breaking aways? They are virtually all "pass caught, guy gets tackled". Mack has a handful of nice runs, but nothing really that notable. I mean, they were up by 21, you're bound to get a few nice runs. I think you are wrong. -

So is the Colts O-line good or bad, cuz there's 8 pages of their balls being washed from just last week.... I think an offense with an exceptional O-line, but average to below-average playmakers works best when you can get a lead, and work methodically. In a shootout, or coming from behind, you need dynamic playmakers. Obviously, a team wants to be good all-around. So get the best players you can, as they become available. There aren't great prospects for WR or O-line at the top of this draft. I would be happy with either position, but mostly I want the guy that will be better at his position. -

Just last week this board was abuzz with O-line envy for the Colts! When the wrs did catch a pass, none of them made anything happen. They arent dynamic players. -

Gee things changed awful quick then. Remind me of some nice plays made by a receiver after a catch? I can't recall any. They just aren't a dynamic bunch.
