  1. This is stupid, if Nassib was worth a pick, his coach of multiple years would have picked him knowing what he could do. Are you trying to say that our new Head Coach doesn't know a better QB when he see's one? IMO I like the guy we got in FA. Nassib was simply not that good. We had far more pressing needs than, to have yet ANOTHER QB being given reps to learn a new offence. And no Nassib would not know the current offence we are planing to run since Marroune changed the offence he wanted to run to better suit Nassib's limitations. The right call was to take anything that was not a QB or RB in the 4th.
  2. What makes you think Nassib would contribute right away? If his coach of 4 years passes on him, that speaks far beyond anything you think you know. That man KNOWS every single aspect of Nassib. He would know what he's worth. My only real complaints are I wish we traded back 1 more time in the first, and had gotten someone, anyone other than Meeks.
  3. My Draft Redo since i think it's actually kind of fun: Bills trade 16th with Niners for 31st + 74th * marks prefered 31) EJ 41) Woods 46) Kiko/ *Arthus Brown 74) *Terrance Williams/Allen Kennan/Goodwin (take your pick, ) 78) Goodwin/Markus Wheaton/John Jenkins/Jordan Reed/Brandon Williams/ BPA i just named a few 105) Khaseem Greene/Kiko 143) Duke Williams 177) Dustin Hopkins 222) Chris Gragg
  4. Unless EJ out right wins the starting job in training camp, i'm all for Kolb being our starter this year. Kolb had 1 receiver at Arizona and no O-line. Either with our guards missing from last year, our line is light years ahead of what he has had to play behind. Not to mention actually have a dangerous running game. That being said, i could not be happier with our WR talent all things considered. ( i'm still a bit upset that the trade back in the third round cost us Keenean Allan but i suppose a guy that reminds me a whole lot of Chris Johnson's break away speed is solid consolation.) At this point I can honestly see a much younger WR corp for us, I don't think Brad Smith is going to win a starting 5 slot. Easly is probably hoping to make anything happen, sad story overall, wish him the best of luck. I know nothing else about Hogan, Chris and Elliott, Kevin but i can't really see them beating out Woods, Rodgers, or Goodwin. We also got that really tall guy to come in for FA. although i'm pretty sure he's a camp body, he seemed really stiff when i saw his tape. Anyone else happy with a WR group that looks like : Stevie Johnson, TJ Graham, Robert Woods, Da'Rick Rodgers, Marquise Goodwin, Brad Smith? Is it a lot of youth? sure. Is it a lot more explosive and probably more talented players at the position? I'd have to guess probably. Nelson and Jones weren't exactly the most amazing #2-3 receivers. Would probably say the only thing i'm not to happy about draft wise was the second safety and the little TE we took, who..... why the hell is he not a WR?
  5. If we did the following i'll do the jack be nimble nursery rhyme irl: 2A) WR 2B) WR/TE 3) TE/WR 4) CB Tyrann Mathieu 5) BPA that fits a need 6) BPA that fits a need 7) RB Marcus Lattimore WR: Robert Woods, Justin Hunter, Allen Kennen, Terrance Williams TE: Zach Ertz, Travis Kelce, Gavin Escobar I have heard a mix bag on Ertz, but would still be happy having him. I am slightly more interested in Kelce and Escobar. If we got just about any combo of WR/WR/TE imo it is proof that Nix is on the way out and is just currently a face for the position. Was anyone else yelling at the screen to trade down again when were on the clock at 16? It was hoping we'd somehow trade back with SF for 31 + 34 or with Min for 25 + 52. I guess it was hoping for to much, and Nix probably would have had multiple hear attacks dropping that far.
  6. WR Terrance Williams Baylor + TE Travis Kelce Cincinnati are my current picks for a perfect second round.
  7. The simple fact that we traded down and got the guy we actually wanted (read on buffalorumblings a few hours before the draft that Marroune loved EJ). Was just talking with my dad, if we spent the next 2 picks on: Williams, Terrance WR 6'2" 208 Baylor Kelce, Travis TE 6'5" 255 Cincinnati I would literally be uncontrollably ecstatic. I know a lot of ppl want use to pick up D positions, but i'm willing to roll the dice on FA's this year while we install w/e new D scheme we have and see how the players actually react to it. I feel like we really don't know what we have when we're going to be running a hybrid. That and i'd love to have weapons that actually pan out.
  8. Mother "Doesn't matter who they pick, they are just gonna suck next year, just like always" Me "I swear to go mom if you don't shut up i'll spoil the ending of every single soup opera you watch" GF..... nods* smiles* eats all my food and drinks all the beer*
  9. By the way, I was wondering the same thing you were, about multiple team trades all at once. I think the reason you don't see it ( think the ridiculousness of like multi-team and player trades in basketball) is that trades between teams on draft day have to be done during their selection. So you're idea is completely possible, and they could set it up initially, but not be able to announce it until their next pick. I could live with a Different QB or WR combo, although i do like woods. I would also prefer a true second WR than a TE, since we already have 5 or 6? As for the later rounds of the draft, basically anything past the 4th, you're just digging for gold, could really care less on who they pick, although i wouldn't mind if we picked up one of those 2 amazing kickers. God knows i want us to be able to hit 55yd fgs as often as possible.
  10. if we run to the podium for our pick i am going to be so pissed that we didn't at least field offers for our pick.
  11. I have this feeling that, if we don't trade down, we'll take Tavon Austin with the 8th pick. It'll be just like the CJ Spiller Pick. Not saying this is what i want to have happen, but it's just this nagging feeling i have.
  12. Without a draft, what incentive is there for a player to go to a bad team? Because you have players that will want money and take the biggest contracts, and then you will have people that will take less money to win or at least have a shot at winning instead of withering away getting an ass kicking week in and week out. If you offered me 100 million dollars vs 10 million and 4 Superbowl rings, i'd take the 10 million and 4 rings.
  13. Please stop with the Trade Byrd nonsense. We have the money to keep him and keep him long term. You'd have a better chance of convince me we are trading him to the 49's for the 31 and 34th pick and we can then trade down from 8 with the vikings and pick up 2 more picks in the first 35. giving us 23/25/31/34 and our own number 41...... Just a heads up, it took me 2 seconds to come up with a better idea than trading our best play maker on D to a team NOT in our division and to trade him, imo the right way, to a team that can compete, which is the right thing to do and what good players deserve, rather than having him jump to another piss poor team that is throwing away this season and then will most likely have to rebuild with new coaches....which leads me too>>>> I would bet anything that Byrd would sign if we told him he'd be sent to the jets that don't have the money to offer him more than what we would give him this year and again he could be stuck on a losing team.
  14. I feel that while the talent of OL is there. we have other needs. No QB is going to win in the current league with no one to throw too and having to score a ton of points to make up for the D's inability to stop anything. I'm also not really hoping for a QB this year as much as it is a need. I would be ok with picking a qb with our 3rd pick or later. We have a really rough schedule and i'm hoping we have an interesting transition season.
  15. We have the money to keep byrd here long term. It is just a matter of contract details. I am not opposed to letting them give us another pick to move up, i doubt they will give us both of their firsts though. IMO there are more attractive trade partners.
  16. The Wonderlic test is a poor test of ability to recognize and react to you're position and surroundings in football. N on gives a dam if you can figure out where train A and train B will collide while going separate speeds on a track in under 10 seconds. I do care if in under 10 seconds you can: 1) know what you are supposed to do 2) read the D or O and make an educated guess as to what they are dong 3) make changes according to #2 Outside of QB, players are pretty much responsible for what... maybe 4 players at a time? Looking up and identifying 4 people does not take the same amount of "intelligence" as: In printing an article of 48,000 words, a printer decides to use two sizes of type. Using the larger type, a printed page contains 1,800 words. Using smaller type, a page contains 2,400 words. The article is allotted 21 full pages in a magazine. How many pages must be in smaller type? To be blatantly honest, i would care more if they could do this game first time around http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2267243
  17. While i agree with the fact that we shouldn't get to much hype going before seeing the results in the season. I am completely happy knowing that whoever is QB can at least throw over 10 yds, and the D will at least blitz. Lets put it this way. We can't be much worse than last year. Let the dreamers dream, and the haters hate. Lets just pray for trading down in the draft out of the 8th spot.
  18. I'm with Jboy. This is the first year i can remember(and for the record i have only been really following the draft in earnest the last few years so my knowledge pool is shallow) that the QB class is so discombobulated in terms of perceived talent. And even if we have an amazing QB if he gets railed in the backfield and has no one to throw too, what good is he. Along that line, you could have a great QB and weapons for him and have a D that just can't hold for crap and end up like the packers. (yes yes they did win a superbowl, but we aren't going to magically fix all our holes in 1 yr)
  19. So. i'm sure i'm not the only one that was pained to see us punt instead of 50-51 yd FG attempts. Lions found an answer on youtube. I'm ashamed to say i wish we had found this guy over the trick QB sitting on the roster. hits 50 and 60 yd shots like it's nothing. Enjoy. PS. Chan would still punt.
  20. Ya lets use a high pick on a pretty much average draft class of QBS that are all pretty much the same. To be honest, he doesn't have any weapons to throw too when he gets here even if we draft the WR i suggest it's no given they will be able to produce on the next level. Just because you have a QB doesn't mean you instantly start to win. You need a line to stop him from getting destroyed and people to throw too. I'm perfectly fine with drafting a QB late in this draft and filling in gaps we have aiming for our new systems this year and drafting QBs higher in the next 2 seasons. This isn't last year. There is no Luck or RG3 sitting there. Look at how completely split the analysts are on who the top QB is. Geno is considered the top pick, but I'm sure you can find articles that say Tyler Wilson is better, or that Matt Barkley will be better. There were areticles that said E.J was the top pick because of his high ceiling and also that Ryan Nassib was the true number 1 guy. We have imo the following holes on the team: QB/WR/LB/CB/TE/OL(this is a shuffle thing and evaluation level of talent and who can mesh well together) I'll go position by position and give my opinion of it's current situation(amount of * is what i consider priority): *QB - Not a good place to be but..... 3 cheap QBS, kolb has never had a Oline and losing our 2 guards does suck but the BIlls always seem to have a decent line. West Coast plays are generally shorter too, soooo line doesn't have to hold up as long. IMO i'm ok with our situation for now. Overall, serviceable but eventually needs to be improved. I actually like the talent in the mid rounds. Also note that this simulator is working purely on numbers and what was a perceived need of teams. For instance, i don't think the giants are taking a QB in the 5th round. ***WR- We have 1 WR as far as i'm concerned, and a bunch of unproven talent. This is an urgent area of need. What good is a QB with no one to throw too. This NEEDS to be addressed in this draft. The WR talent runs extremely deep. Should be able to find 2 starters ( considering our current group this isn't far fetched) ***LB- ....... Do i even need to note how bad our situation is here? I believe Parcell's was quoted as saying you can never have to many good LBs. Again this is a draft where there is not only a good depth at LB but also Hybrid players that can be OLB or DE. Something our new scheme would love to use. Has to be addressed this draft. No discussion to be had. *CB- We need 1 more. McKelvin can play well sometimes but gets burned too often. We have i believe Ron Brooks who was looking really good until his foot was injured. We don't need to get someone amazing, but we need 1 more. There are some good CB's that I think will slip through to the middle and later rounds where they will be a great steal. Considering our D is in transition and how bad it was last year.... I would like to see it addressed since it would also solidify our back end. TE- Decent talent here, but it's an evolving position. Seems to be a lot of hit or miss and fiding players that block and can run/catch are rare. Also need to find one that wasn't just a system player. We have a lot of Te's on the team, and i'd rather us wait a bit before really addressing it. See how the new coaching staff uses what we have since we kept dickerson. Would not care if we did not pick a TE in the draft. **OL- This is.... hard for me. Because of how much linemen tend to shuffle. We clearly could use 1 or 2 more linemen. There is a good depth of talent across the line. I feel like we could easily get a good 1-2 linemen that could either start for us or be great back ups and get them in the later rounds. I would like to see this addressed in this draft because we need to be able to run, need to keep Kolb upright, and if we start a rookie QB in the near future i don't want him to end up like destroyed because he never gets a good chance to throw. I feel this is a need in the later rounds. To recap: WR- Desperate need LB- Extremely Desperate Need OL- Need to shore up QB- Look for someone to clearly be the future of the franchise. CB- Should address to solidify the back TE- could care less.
  21. Found this, thought you might want to add it to your list of possible trades (from bleacher report): WGR 550's Joe Buscaglia recently speculatedthat the St. Louis Rams could trade up to the Bills' pick at No. 8 in the interest of securing West Virginia's explosive playmaker Tavon Austin. In the trade, the Bills net the 16th and 46th overall selections in the draft.
  22. If we trade down in the draft, i think we can finally start hoping for a serious turn around in the right direction. My only gripe was the money we gave McKelvin. It's just a bit to much for me.... but at the same time he is the best PR/KR.... and a middle of the pack CB. I would have liked it a lot more at 12 million instead of 15, and of course lower. Honestly, i think the team will be the same or better by at least having someone that blitzes and actually uses the run game and a qb that can at least throw over 10 yds if need be. Lets wait and see what happens in the draft, debate of that and then see how the first year under new coaching turns out. I'll be happy if we win a fwe more games and i'll be happy if we suck it up for a yr in transition and get earlier draft picks. Strap yourself in, we're in for a ride.
  23. Fred Jackson just isn't worth anything. Getting up there in age, 2 seasons ended with injury or injury plagued. He isn't costing us a lot. Rather have a leader and someone who is an extremely good back up than at best a 5th round pick. He is probably going to retire a Bill and i'm fine with that.
  24. We all know Kolb isn't the answer and just another Band Aid..... lets just hope he does better than Fitz. He or TJ. I could care less. Someone throw a pass over 15 yds and have it not bounce off the ground.
  25. i don't think the team can go wrong with going O or D for the draft. It's a draft that doesn't have a ton of Supreme talent, but it has a large depth of very good talent.
