  1. Nitro, we have gone over the murder case Ray Lewis was involved in, in another thread. He, while there, was not an instigator of the fight and did try to stop the fight, hence why he ditched his white suit. However, no witness testified at any point that he was involved in the melee between the 4 main persons of the brawl outside of breaking it up and telling them to get in the car to leave. Ray Lewis is NOT guilty of murder, and did not murder anyone. He WAS however found guilt of obstruction of justice for lying initially to the police and hiding evidence. The crime he was found guilty of he did actually commit. As for the brawl. Lewis and his 2 friends where IN their limo. The other 2 started the fight by smashing a bottle over one of Lewis's friends head and proceed to continue attacking them. The fact that they died after starting a brutal fight is a sad result. However, as was stated, both men were found innocent due to the fact that it was self defense.
  2. DrDareustein & section122 you guys rock. The point i really wanted to make was, he has given so much to the game. He shouldn't have anything taken away from him because he is emotional, a leader, and puts his faith in god and is heavily religious. I also feel like the murder case which he was found guilt for the appropriate crime, does not take away from what he has done for the game, his team, and for fans of not only the ravens but the sport.
  3. And he was charged with obstruction of justice which is exactly what he did. And yes, a fight broke out in check several people were bloodied. So he threw away evidence. Witnesses had conflicting stories and several and most indicated that the two men who died started the fight and it didn't just start with a push, it started with them smashing a bottle over anothers head. What did you think was going to happen when you do that to someone? They are just gonna lay there and take it? I find it somewhat ironic that The person that smashed the bottle over the guys head was later stabbed with said bottle. And i'm asking for you to find me an article that says that outside of being there, and obstructing justice and hindering the case, that Ray Lewis was the one that killed the person or was actually part of the fight. The man was wearing a white suit in a fight were blood was spilled so of course it get dirtied, but not a single witness said Ray was on the combatants. And the other 2 members of his group, were found innocent on account of the fact they were 1) attacked first 2) dragged from the vehicle they were already in 3) attacked with weapons. They were acquitted on the basis of self defense
  4. I can't find anything that shows that Ray Lewis committed murder. I find many articles saying he was there and drove away with the 2 men who got into the fight with the other 2, but nothing showing he was the one directly involved. In 1 article it was stated that Lewis and his group were in the limo and one of the 2 killed walked up and smashed a bottle over the persons head starting the incident. So we are going to take away everything Lewis has done, especially since the incident, because 4 ppl got into an altercation which just happened to be near him. And don't give me, oh he didn't step up. Ppl lie when they get pulled over for speeding. The guy witnessed 2 ppl get murdered and knew that because he was high profile he would be blamed initially regardless of the evidence. Someone show me an article that states Lewis was the one that started or was the main person in the altercation leading up to the death of the 2 men. Or is he just guilty by association. And after the trail when several witnesses had different stories or non matching stories to the night.
  5. Um, i don't want to really get to much into a debate about this, but i don't think Ray Lewis is really that overboard. I don't think there is anything wrong with someone being so emotional after reaching a goal that is difficult to attain. I mean, have you ever given your all in something and finally achieved it and not have your emotions run extremely high? In high school i set the school record for the 800 meter time, and I cried like a little girl for 10 minutes. It took me 2 yrs to shave off 7 seconds from my time to beat that record. I can't even imagine what it's like to play a sport as physically demanding and draining as football, and finally get to the Superbowl for a second time. How many years did he play lights out, lead his team emotionally and with his play on the field. How many years was Ray the Face of the franchise. Think about it, even though they have flacco and rice, Ray Lewis is the face of that franchise. He holds so much on his shoulders as a man in his position. Ray is a very emotional person, and extremely religious. If you don't like it, mute the tv and wait for it to pass.
  6. Is it a toaster that burns the Bills logo into your toast?
  7. Didn't want us to draft him, and now I really hope we don't draft him.
  8. As Bobblehead noted, it looks like he's always trying to zip the ball into his receivers. That's not really that bad but I feel like in some cases he needs to have a bit better touch. He at least has the arm strength to get the ball down field but i'm not sure if it's his throws or the receivers not being able to get where they need to be for the ball that made a lot of the passes fall incomplete. I like his as a third round pick up, or trading up into a late second to get him. Oh, and good lord, could his receivers drop anymore simple passes?
  9. What is everyone's feelings one Tyler Bray, QB from Tenn. I would love to draft LB in the first, and WR in the second, and Tyler Bray in the third if possible.
  10. I would love for us to draft Tyler Wilson. I just would like to get him with something other than the 8th pick of the first round.
  11. Wanted to post an interesting number for you guys. Through the entire season Fitz was sacked 30 times. In 8 games a piece for Vick and Smith ( exclude the games they were knocked out of) they were sacked, 28 and 24 times respectively. I'm nto asking for them to be the long time answer, but I am looking for them to be someone that is serviceable that we can give a 2-3 yr contract to for less money than what we are planning to give Fitz. I am not completely up to date on his contract, but I am hoping we do not have the same situation the Jets have with Sanchez where it doesn't matter if we drop him or not, he is going to get that close to 10million. If anyone is wondering, here is also a quick break down: Player - Comp % / yds per game / sacks / int / fum - fum lost Vick - 60.1% / 261 yds / 28 sacks / 10 int / 11 fum - 5 lost A. Smith - 72.1% / 207 yds / 24 sacks / 5 int / 4 fum - 1 lost Fitz - 59.9% / 212.5 yds / 30 sacks / 16 int / 8 fum 6 lost Something else to note, A. Smiths number may also look much better due to SF being up more often than not in those games. At the 8 Game mark, SF was 6-2 while Philly and Bills were 3-5. I can go back and check, but I feel like the majority of our first 5 loses were all blow outs with a lot of garbage time stats although that still couldn't help Fitz. Basically, I think Alex Smith, to a lesser extent Vick ( it's a shame he doesn't want to be a back up) would be able to hold down the fort while we bring up a younger talent and not throw them to the wolves. Lets be honest here. Indy was a playoff team 2 yrs ago if they had anything the resembled a QB. The redskins had a decent D and were a scrappy team that just needed something better under center( finding Morris was just an unforeseen bonus). As for the Seahawks, They are a good team and they knew they only needed a QB to be a serious contender, hence why they went out and got Flynn and Wilson even with T Jax and let it be an open competition. I don't think we are a QB away from the Playoffs. However i do think it would help us out tremendously. This is not to say we are at the same level as say, the Fins and the Browns were last year when they drafted. Both teams saw improvements but I would still say they are about 1-2 yrs from the playoffs. I would place us slightly above the position they were in at the time of the 2012 draft. Do we need our future QB. You better believe it. I just don't see a QB this yr that pops out as, worth a top 10 pick. I would much rather wait, for something and fix our glaring need at LB, and WR because a QB throwing to our receiving corps is going to have a hard time. Although that's not entirely fair and might be improved with FA ( G. Jennings would be a nice addition but we still need a burner or for TJ to develop a lot faster)
  12. Ok, Valid point, but looking towards a QB for us next season, who would you guys pick. I'm not sold on Glesson or Barkley. Geno looked miserable in the snow. Between the draft and FA, who are you guys hoping we'll have under center. Also i can only hope that our next coach finds a way to lean on our running game considering out talent there and how it can help open up the passing game.
  13. I like Chip Kelly a lot, but I just don't feel comfortable giving him a HC job when he hasn't done anything in the NFL. I would be all for him being our OC though. If I could dream, i'd have Mike McCoy HC, Kelly OC and Lovie DC but that isn't going to happen although i wouldn't mind Lovie for HC and Kelly fo OC under him.
  14. Hello everyone. This is my first Topic Post, second post ever. Been reading on the site for about a year now. I apologize if this is a repeat thread. I know I've seen stuff about each of these people individually, but not together. I am hoping we land Mike McCoy as our next HC. What he was able to do with Tebow and Manning changing the offence from 1 yr to the next to best suit the QB is nothing short of miraculous. I would love for him to be the Bills next HC because he could easily build an Offence to work with whatever our QB situation is next yr. With that said I would like to move onto the other 2 names. Vick and Alex Smith. Both can be viewed as non-elite but at least above average QBs in the league A. Smith won't wow anyone with his numbers, but last year and this year prior to his injury, he was efficient. I feel like he would be an excellent pick up in the off season as a slight upgrade to Fitz while we draft a QB at some point. As for Vick. I have read a ton of posts here that say he is a turn over machine and yes he does seem to be 1 concussion away from thinking he's back in grade school. But from what I saw all season, while he was playing the majority of those hits came from being sacked due to extremely poor O-line play not from his scrambling. The Bills o-line, while not the best ( their stats are somewhat the product of the scheme Gaily was using), can easily be considered better than Philly's line. I think, given just an extra 2 seconds to make throws and not be scared for his life, Vick would easily be a serviceable QB for us while we groom a successor that we pick up in the Draft. McCoy took Tebow to and won a playoff game, you have to imagine he could do better with either Smith or Vick. I also, and i'm sure i might be blasted for this, don't think we should get a QB in the first round. The quality is simply not there. If Russell Wilson was in this years draft, i have no doubt he would be a first rounder, with a stupid note about his size next to his name being his questionable downsize. I would be all for a QB in the second or third, with some trading around, perhaps, trading back in the third, forth and fifth to get a really late second? The talent level at other positions are simply way to good. If we could get away with a LB in the first and then a WR/LB/(D anything) in the second and a QB in the third, I could not be happier. Little bored at work today, so I hope we can have a good discussion about this and any other point someone might bring up.
  15. Would love for Ray Lewis to go out with a Ring. It would be almost as good as "The Bus" retiring with the SB win in his home city. Realistically, I think the Bronco's will win it. They have been really solid all year. I'm curious to see what happens with the NFC though, because no team is hotter than the Seahawks, and with the fact that they don't have the week off, they can just carry that momentum right into the playoffs. Broncos 38 over Seahawks 35 in a fantastic shootout is my prediction.
