  1. Very true. Nix needs to turn this team into a decent 8-8 team, solid all around IMO. I think saying you don't believe in trading down shows some inflexibility and perhaps a lack of being reality about how far off this team is.
  2. So far, Nix has turned a 7-9 team into a 4 -12 team, with holes all over the place. Nix is on the clock, as this is his 2nd draft.
  3. I found Rob Johnson, J.P. AND Trents Edwards rather offensive.
  4. Right. The Bills are just so consistently worse than everyone else at it. You'd think they'd figure it out, but they don't.
  5. I would love for them to do this, I think it's called a positional draft: Go D-line which is deep, early and often, mixing a couple LB selections if the value is there.
  6. It means you're not too terribly bright I would guess?
  7. Ralph has to say something. QB is an issue if going to the playoffs. Bills aren't going anywhere right now anyhow.
  8. I think what Ralph MEANT to say was, it will take two or three more rebuilding attempts to have a playoff team. The only way the Bills make the playoffs is for New England and Belichick to parts ways, Brady to retire and the NFL to add 4 more teams to the playoffs.
  9. I don't think it really matters a whole lot who you havae in the 2ndary when your D-line gaves up 200 yards / game rushing. I think we saw that last couple years. Besides, instead of loading up on DBs every year ala Jauron, load up on D-linemen instead. See how the team magically gets better!
  10. The future. Well the first year of the future they took a 6-10 team and turned it into a 4-12 team. What have these guys shown as so far? Not much. If there isn't a top 5 player they want, then trade down. If they don't get fair value, so what. The Bills have so many holes, they just need Pro level bodies out there. I say start with the D-line which they seem to have screwed up so bad.
  11. Great, get a QB, just don't take a flyer with the 3rd overall pick on a 1 year college QB.
  12. It seems the most glaring need of the Bills is along the D line. IMO. Draft one of the stud DTs or DEs coming out, and solidify the D line for the next ten years or so. Or trade down?
  13. Great. And with the 7th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Drafts, the Buffalo Bills select *.
  14. My favorite D-line formation of all time: they called it "the Package" when Washington and Williams lined up together.
  15. I've often thought the Bills should outsource the draft. Have your G.M. and whatever there, but really go with a group that act as consultants and really do some work. They would have been far better off over the years.
  16. I've read elsewhere that Jauron was pushing for Maybin. Influenced the selection. This is what happens when you bring in a prior head coach to be G.M., and let a head coach (Jauron) in the draft room who has no business being there. You also get an endless parade of DBs taken everywhere possible.
  17. I think it was posted several months ago, maybe more then that, but the Buffalo Bills I believe were found to have fewer 1st and 2rd round starteds than anyone else on the NFL. This really speaks volumes when you consider this was just a 4-12 team.
  18. I really like this move for number of reasons, and also have a couple questions. 1. The Bills Front Office (Buddy Nix) realized the D was really bad, possibly that G. Edwards was over his head. 2. They made a move rather quickly, for the Bills, prior to Ralph having him annual summit Detroit or wherever, by which time it seems other teams have already made their moves and scooped up available talent. 3. Instead of dumping Edwards and bring in a new D.C. who would have to get his hands around the whole deal, they added a coach who actually HAS experience for the job which he is being hired. I'm rather shocked. Really. 4. I haven't heard much from Ralph and it seems Nix is putting his stamp on this team. 5. Some of the key coaches have now worked together in the past, which should help the D improve quickly. 6. Chan can be expected to devote most of his time to the O, and let D.W. and Edwards handle the D completely. Q: D.W. has experience mostly wit 4-3? So are the Bills still going to run a hybrid or go back to the more conventional 4-3?
  19. Further evidence the Bills, Levy and Jauron had/have no idea what to do re: building or rebuilding a team. This team has been in perpetual "rebuild" mode for 10- 11 years, and the owner came out recently and just said another 3 years. Thanks Ralph. If the Bills had a clue, it would have happened by now. Sell the team already, instead of just selling games to Toronto.
  20. Is it possible to get a difference maker at TE in the 4th round? Haven't they done this before?
  21. + 1 That pick makes too much sense, so the Bills won't do it.
  22. What about the K.C. and Chicago games? How do you assess those performances? http://www.nfl.com/players/ryanfitzpatrick/gamelogs?id=FIT792915
  23. Buffalo faced the 2nd fewest pass plays of any NFL team year. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?offensiveStatisticCategory=null&archive=false&seasonType=REG&defensiveStatisticCategory=TEAM_PASSING&d-447263-o=2&conference=null&d-447263-s=PASSING_ATTEMPTS&d-447263-n=1&season=2010&qualified=true&Submit=Go&tabSeq=2&role=OPP&d-447263-p=1
