They don't. You might as well have a bunch of high school girls back there drafting. No slam on high school girls is intended.

We will find out how important Lee Evans is
San-O replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They seemed to be married to guys like Evans, Reed, Parrish. Great to see some young receivers get some playing time and be targeted also. Next year Parrish and Easley will be back, Easley essentially as a rookie, however I would really like to see the Bills draft a WR in the first round. They do take time to develop, and I'm not sold yet on S. Johnson or anyone really. Good young group though it would seem. -

One thing I have learned after being on this board a number of years: there will ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS be people who will support/defend/make excuses for some under-producing Bills player no matter what the reality appears to be. Some times rightly so, but many times not. Evans just doesn't produce. -
Thanks Fezmid. What IS the relationship between TSW and Bills Daily, and the chat rooms?
-
I don't see how they ranked him at all when he only started 8 games for the year 2009: benched, not injury as I recall. http://www.nfl.com/players/dontewhitner/profile?id=WHI720119

You had me right up unitl there. Kelsay? What about the Kelsay extension?
-
Right. Also seems a lot of posters want to compare him to the "lock_down" corners the Bills have lost the past few years, which I don't understand. Again, Whitner was not even a starter all of last year. I would like to see an upgrade there if possible. I'm OK with the secondary for the most part. McGee and Florence are getting older. I like Byrd, however don't want to see McLuvin in a starting role. Too many mental errors, and costs the team too often IMO.
-
I would say re: Whitner: 1. Talks too mich, and doens't back it up. So what, just play please. 2. Lots of tackles due to a horrible front seven: Not his fault, and again, not impressed. 3. Hands os stone, no INTS. 4. Seems to get beat deep, and a liability in pass coverage. 5. SS of his ability are a dime a dozen and he will not be missed. 6. Upgrade position if possible. He's an average player on a bad defense, and will not be missed IMHO. Goats Trent Edwards - Second straight pathetic offensive performance and Edwards is the leader of this sinking ship. Steve Johnson - His garbage time yards don't matter, the pass that went off his hands started the avalanche. Donte Whitner - Dropped an interception and was burned badly for a touchdown. Goats Demetrius Bell - A false start penalty and a sack given up. Cornell Green - Two bad penalties and awful in pass protection. His false start penalty was a killer. The Bills Secondary - They struggled as Brady picked them apart. They didn't get any help from a poor pass rush however. Goats Donte Whitner - Was beaten for two touchdowns and dropped a sure interception. Geoff Hangartner - His unsportsmanlinke conduct penalty gave the defense no chance at a stop. C.J. Spiller - His fumble was a big turning point in the game. Gameballs Fred Jackson - Huge game with 170 total yards and 2 touchdowns. Donte Whitner - Very active with a pass knockdown, a pass defensed, and a deflection that was picked off. Leodis McKelvin - Stepped in as the starting corner, punt return, and kick retuner. Had a return for TD called back by dubious penalty call. Dwan Edwards - He had his second career interception and seven tackles. He did a great job in keeping the Lions running game down.

Not as far away as some may think...

+ 1 Every December it's like the movie "Ground Hog day". If the Bills just get a "couple" more players. The D alone is probably five players away from being average, or of playoff caliber. o The D line is a mess, except for Kyle Williams. o The LB unit is a mess. o The D is ranked last in the league against the run. o The secondary is OK, but McGee is getting old and injured, and I NEVER want to see McLuvin as a starter. -
Obviously Bills Are Going Defense With First Pick
San-O replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't have much confidence in the Bills F.O. bringing in any quality O line people. They have just never been able to do it. And look how bad the D line draft has been. -
Does anyone else get sick of seeing the Cowboys?

+ 1 why are we forced to watch NFC East teams all the time. How many Nat. TV games have the NFC East teams been on this year? -
My bad, he's already got most of the money: $8.4 Mil total for 2010 however. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_contract.aspx?sport=NFL&id=26
-
I thought Evans contract was for like $8.5 Mil or something like that?
-
How so? They could use that contract money to sign 3 starters I would think.
-
It's hard to miss 3 catches a game, seriously. I think they should re-negotiate his contract or dump him. That money could be used elsewhere I'm sure.
