I would love to see the Bills be smart and just trade down. This team is so far away from being good, and they generally draft poorly, so trade down geting some extra picks and improve your chances. If not trading down, I don't think you can take a LB with the 1st or 2nd overall pick. It's just too high, unless the guy is really just a monster.

I think they can do it! Seems you can get McLuvin/Whitner to bite on just about anything, and our KR/PR guys can easily cough up a crucial turnover at the worst possible time. The D can't stop ANYTHING. They can do it. Have a little faith.

I see your point, however the Bills seem to be waffling now between the 3-4 and the 4-3. Kyle Williams is a keeper, and the other two DE's are really playing out of position in a 3-4, aren't they? How about keep the three starting now assume a return to the 4-3 and draft actual-non-tweener D-linemen (2) in the top 5 picks? I would like to see them get a difference making RDE for starters.

Any time you hear "Buffalo Bills" and "scouting" mentioned together, it is cause for concern.

I honesty believe this team will never really get much better because they don't seem to have a clue re: O-linemen. How many players, and free agents, and draft choices do these guys miss on year after year? Who signs off on a Green? Really. Who scouted him, who else said "yes" and who signed the paperwork for a guy like this? Cut that guy too. IMO.

Unfortunately, these are also three of the four key positions of any NFL team. In general. These have come to be known, for the lack of a better or the correct term, cornerstone positions. You can have average talent basically everywhere else, but if you have these three plus a lock-down/leave on an island type DB, you can build around them: There are always exceptions, and other ways to do it, but from what I have come to understand if you DON'T have these bases covered well, you're going to have to rely on a super unit somewhere on the field, or some other way to generate mismatches to get wins.
