Yes they did, and I must admit it felt AWESOME. I have sons 20 and 23 that don't remember Buffalo EVER having a winning season.

IMO: o The front office is in better shape. o They seem to have a plan when drafting, and looking much better than Levy/Jauron. o The roster is looking much better. o The defense should be much improved, how much I can't say. Middle of the pack would be a HUGE improvement. o Not sold on Fitz as QB. Inaccurate and too many picks for me. o Not sold on Gailey as O coordinator. Too much passing for me. Half time adjustments? o Special teams? I would refer to the Dallas paper ratings. The biggest problem I see, is in the AFCE division. You are going to need to win the AFCE to have any real chance, and I don't see Gailey getting over on a NE team with Brady at QB, being coached by the Hoodie.

Really. I'm sorry, but 10 wins over 2 seasons doesn't get a "very good" from me. Having the worst D in the league 2 years running also doesn't get a high mark from most people. I just don't see a great NFL coach when I look at Gailey. Did you see how this team went in the tank 2nd half of last season? Miami beat Buffalo and their coach STILL got fired.

Based in what? He's been OK I guess, but I do not equate 4 - 12 and 6 - 10 as a very good job. I am looking forward to seeing what the new D can do with all the draft picks, going back to the 4-3 and a D coordinator who has a clue.

Mario Williams asks Bills to line him up at LDE
San-O replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which brings up a point that I was afraid to ask due to ridicule: They can't possibly be thinking of putting Kelsay at RDE. Can they? -
Bingo, we have a winner!!! + 1

Right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chan_Gailey .437 as head choach. There are ALWAYS people on this board who basically are either appologists for the coaching staff and front office in place, or whoever it is, or worship them. Show me a winning season. Show me a playoff birth. Show me a playoff win. Your opinions are much like you avatar: crap.

Never thought about that, though interesting. CJ should also emerge more this year. I have nnot been impressed with Gailey play calling, others seem fine with the passing approach, I'm not. If Gailey again struggles this year in the play calling/offense area after the last half of last season, there could be issues. After the 4-12 season, and 6-10 season, I am not sold on Gailey as an OC or a head coach. This will be the third year, and if you can't sustain some injuries on O and D, and keep the team rolling you have a problem. I would imagine the team goes 8-8 and Gailey does JUST enough to keep his job for another year and the end of his contract.

Will we run more and pass less than last year?
San-O replied to Thurmal34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's what I am seeing. He just won't run when he should, and seems bent on passing. I think his bad play calling cost the Bills a couple games last year. IMO. -

I remember that game, but not the exact stats. It's too bad IMO, as it seems Gailey is trying to prove something re: the passing game instead of trying to call a smart and appropriate game, which I think will be his demise with this team. We'll see. -

No. Buddy is throw throw throw and throw. He has said multiple times he "would like to run more", but never does. When you have injured receivers, banged up O-line, a QB with apparent rib injuries and a stud RB getting 5.5 yards/carry and you STILL don't run more, you never will. -
Too funny. Why is Colonel Angus so popular with the ladies?

Gettin a stronger arm is possible
San-O replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+ 1 Not concerned about arm strength, but accuracy is an issue for his career. And INTs are big too, having led the league last year. If he were throwing 30 TDs and 15 picks it would be one thing, but throwing 24 TDs and 23 picks is never going to get it done. -
What type offense - name or style - is Buffalo considered
San-O replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+ 1 Awesome. The Bills (Gailey) had better figure this out early, or he should be gone. Period. -

OK. sounds right. I love Freddy catching the ball. Chan needs to get him the ball more. Run Freddy run. -
Young & Smith in the Wilcat with Jackson.

VY would seem better suited to run the Wildcat, however he also has accuracy issues in the passing game. Sub - 60 %. http://www.nfl.com/player/vinceyoung/2506875/profile I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see it, just not a great passer. -

It will be very interesting to watch, however wasn't the wild-scat more of a gimmic run by Dophins mostly? I would love to see it work, just didn't seem to much for Bills and Gailey. -
I am not sure what the "term" used for the Chan offense is, other than the spread offense? o Throw first and often? Understand it is a passing league, however Gailey passed the ball too much for my liking, particularly when the passing game seemed not to work, and the running game did. Fred averaged 5.5 YPC I believe. D coordinators seemed to figure the offense out before mid season, and Gailey didn't seem to make any adjustments, even when QB Fitz had injured ribs, so we are led to believe. Not sure about that. Seems odd. FWIW: I can see the defense really be much improved, 15 - 10 range maybe even, however if Gailey goes into season with same offense and tendencies, I can see the offense finishing 20 - 25, and being a problem. When your O coordinator isn't getting it done, do you replace him when he's also the head coach?

UPDATE: QB Vince Young Signs With Buffalo Bills
San-O replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if Fitz doesn't crap the bed, Chan will with his play calling. Chan was exposed last year IMO, and things won't change much this year now that teams have figured him out. -

+ 1 However, I will addd that Chan's infatuation with Wild Cat, spread offense, gimmick play, pass-pass-pass offense will be his undoing: again. I think the defense with all the moves and draft will far surpass the offense, and the Head coach will again have no answers. The 'Stache will then step up. Just a prediction.
