I had read a similar article or published paper a couple years ago, regarding the four key position concept. Seems like in today's game being so pass oriented, this would be even more important. Buffalo basically has nobody at these keys positions that and has not for over a decade now. When I say nobody I mean: 1. True franchise QB. Fitz is a backup IMO. 2. True LT. Peters is gone I know. 3. Pass Rushing DE: Schobel was OK. 4. Is he not one of the most injured players over the past three years? I don't see how one of your most important positions (QB and LT on offense) can be left to chance re: injury.

Q: Can Bell also play RT? My thinking, sigh him to a REASONABLE contract, and also draft a tackle in the early rounds, BPA type of thing. The Bills have no RT and need O-linemen that can play tackle. Maybe the new tackle can challenge Bell and replace or move him to RT?

You can't count on Merriman or Kelsay. You can draft a prototype pass rushing RDE, I hope. The Bills either can't coach the hybrid, or select players for it, or both. It's just not working, and it's been two years already. Also, I don't see how anyone can justify staying with a system that doesn't work when the personnel can't play it anyhow.

So. Stay with the 3-4 that has worked so well? 2010 Buffalo D points/game 28th in league. 2011 Buffalo D points/game 30th in league. They actually got worse after 2 years in the 3-4 and drafting for it. Note: If the Bills really think that Merriamn returns and again count on that, then I have no hope for the organization.

The team waits until some time has passed, does some internal review, and after all the real players have made their moves, the Bills come up with some shockingly uninspired personnel moves. What happens and when does it happen. Edwards released, or how do you justify keeping him? And when.

Just looking at D linemen, I find in inexcusable that the Bills passed on Ngata and then traded up to take McCargo. Who made that call. In addition, you pass on Arakpo, who had Pro Bowl written all over him him most accounts and reach for Maybin? No way. Just those two draft blunders, and those alone should get people fired, but Ralph runs the organization like it's the family corner store, and because an NFL team is guaranteed millions $ every year, he gets away with it.
