  1. We need Wayne and Garth to spice up this flaccid thread....
  2. https://omny.fm/shows/mike-francesa/mike-francesa-destroys-ben-mcadoo Francesa quotes: McAdoo's career is worthless..without Eli Jerry Reese's career is built on Eli... Without Eli, Reese is unemployed...
  3. Gaines' presence is really important. There is a huge dropoff between he and Shareece Wright. Wright is a good 4th corner. Both Micah Hyde and Preston Brown were really good at pre-snap reads and getting guys in the right place. On "O" -- Clay came to play. Zay Jones is maturing right before our eyes.
  4. On the bright side its not often a team improves its first round draft position by winning
  5. God Bless #89. Prayers for peace and freedom from pain and suffering for your mom. She raised a great, giving daughter. That is truly her and your dad's legacy.
  6. Lily, a 15 year old Queensland Heeler....great girl....smarter than her owner which is a low bar. She has a little trouble moving around -- but canine cannabis biscuits have done more good for her than anything the last six months. She does keep raiding the Doritos
  7. Did you consider that there's a downside to a regime that shows prospective free agents in the league that they will toss aside a vet who gives them a better chance to win? This happens all the time with teams that are supposedly future focused -- but its a loser mentality that may turn off vet players this team wants to attract this coming offseason. There will be competition for any vet player. McD picking a rook who clearly isn't ready to start over a respected vet while the team is still mathematically in the playoff race may make a difference in some free agents decision about where to play in the future. Stuff like this matters.
  8. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2017/11/21/mcdermott-leadership-council-talk-frequently/ Sounds like Coach is meeting with the leadership council this week. If the meeting was today, I would bet that Tyrod is the starter.
  9. I am a blind, pollyannish loyalist...a lemming, a mindless drone...I am here for the long haul. Help me....
  10. Hauschka sets a record for consecutive 50 yard field goals Alexander is just a good guy Poyer has turned into a damn good find at Safety Peterman showed us that maybe holding on to the ball and taking a sack is okay Yarbrough is a great feel-good story Taylor is a pro -- and is all class Hyde is tough as nails and another find Andre Holmes is not as bad as I thought he would be at WR Nick O'Leary has improved as much as any Bill Kyle WIlliams deserves better than this...but he's still the MAN. Schmidt is a decent punter Gaines is good when he plays Incognito can still play the game Vallejo is great because he fills the need for a V--Putin mad because I could have used Vladimir iMarco is looking for the Bills missing "D" Nate Peterman gets double billing because he had a tough day Glenn needs a transplanted turkey leg to replace his bum ankle and foot... Happy Thanksgiving y'all!
  11. The Bills hired 3 men for the front office capable of being a GM.. Joe Schoen and Brian Gaine and Beane...plus they added other high potential employees in Lake Dawson and Malik Boyd. This is truly scouting firepower to supplement Beane's administrative skills. They don't need a personnel Tsar they need personnel....
  12. If the Bills have entered into future focus mode... I would: Start Henderson at RT now that he can play-you have to make a decision on him Start Groy at RG - the Bills stepped up to keep him by matching the offer sheet...use him on the field The right side of the OL is in full matador mode with pass protection and all the big runs yesterday went to the left.
  13. I believe a good QB can hide so many other flaws. A good, young QB is a ticket to perennial playoff contention. The Bills are going to finish 5-11 or 6-10. The D will not improve the rest of the way. This puts them drafting in the top 10--around number 8. Bills have several options drafting this high. 1) Package the Chiefs #1 (around 25) and our number one and our number 2 should net us a top 3 pick. Assume that Darnold stays in school. You are looking at Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, Rudolph. If the Bills can get Allen or Rosen -- I would go for it. 2) Stay put at 8- Look at a QB like Clayton Thorson (NW), Luke Falk (Washington State), Jarret Stidham (Auburn)--at 8 you can put this expensive scouting staff to work and find the gem in what others consider the second tier. Honestly, depending on who declares, the second tier this year is quite good. Its a buyers market. If the Bills do this, they may also look at hedging their bets with a veteran who has starting experience. I believe any of these three QBs is better than the two QBs the Bills have spent mid-first rounders on recently. If Allen and Rosen are off the board and the Bills could not trade up -- I would stay put and take what others consider to be a second tier or grab Rudolph or Mayfield if they drop past the QB needy teams for some reason. If its Mayfield -- I could see him doing a table drop tailgate shot at some point. We'll hear all the bull **** this spring-- they reached, blah, blah, blah. There is no such thing as a reach for a QB. You scout like hell and then pick the best of the lot at your pick. Its not a reach...its a bet. If you go with option 2 -- Focus on the lines in the Draft (Except go hard after Star Lotulelei) and the skill positions in FA. The last couple of years there are always skill position players who end up on the scrap heap in the offseason (See Jeremy Maclin) -- take advantage of this.
  14. The Chargers got some yards after catching Peterman's throws..that is legit.. (sic) As much as it pains me, this season is now gone. The defense overachieved for 6 of 7 weeks (including the Carolina loss) and that drove the Bills to 5-2. You play the last 6 games to learn what you have. That means: 1) Players who you know are not going to be on the roster next year sit the bench barring a nuclear meltdown like yesterday 2) Players who need more game experience but have flashed (Milano, Dawkins) get all the game time you can give them. 3) Players who are at the end of contracts who the Bills are considering re-signing -- get playing time This team better get to work in Free Agency as well as the draft. No pass rush, no run D, little pass D with no LB coverage, no QB. Decent Special Teams (but punting sucked yesterday) and a serviceable run game with an older back. This team needs to find some talent on the existing roster and then supplement it with a lot of pieces from outside. Pegula bucks needed.
  15. Chiefs first round draft pick is looking better at least...
  16. Kurt Benkert (UVA) is having a day so far against the Canes--he just dropped about a 25-30 yard dime over tight coverage on a RB 4th option receiver while on the move....wow..
  17. Thanks Kelly--I hadn't heard it before. It was particularly moving for us that night -- given our loss 3 weeks earlier.....and a wonderful ballad for a very loved mother.
  18. Hey Chargers, Chiefs, Patriots, Colts and Dolphins -- if you keep #5 in the pocket and make him throw the football you probably win the game ...not that hard. Surprised it took this long to figure it out. This team was not a playoff team with Taylor and it's likely not one with Peterman...but it was worth a shot. Vic's conspiracy theories are good fodder for water cooler talk -- but every team left on our schedule is capable of keeping Tyrod in the pocket except for maybe the Colts.
  19. The NFL needs a 5 day Disabled List, particularly for kickers/punters. You should be able to bring in a sub-kicker without sacrificing a roster spot.
  20. He looked really good in yesterday's highlights from practice I watched....he throws with confidence and accuracy when there is no defense....
  21. The 2015 Peyton Manning ..... yep...dead on.
  22. Got to see this on October 5th, before the official opening. My wife won the ticket lottery. If you are a fan, this is the Born to Run autobiography come to life. The theater is 1000 seats with tremendous acoustics. The show is Bruce, an acoustic guitar and a piano. Bruce focuses the first hour on growing up in NJ through the teen years and sprinkles in songs throughout. There is one new song. A ballad to his mom. Its beautiful. It was a poignant moment for us. My Stepson (Wife's son) passed from an overdose on September 13...we just held each other as best we could during this song. The second half of the show brought us to now. A lot of the dialog and songs focused on how Bruce developed his passions outside of music. The best story was him stopping at a truck stop in AZ on his way from NJ to CA on a motorcycle. He picked up Born on the Fourth of July at the truck stop and read it during overnights on the trip and once he got to LA. A week later he is staying at a hotel on Sunset Strip where Rockers tended to hangout and for a couple of days he notices a guy in a wheelchair by the pool. The guy comes up to him and says.."Bruce, I'm Ron Kovic". Kovic takes Bruce to the Ventura VA hospital and Bruce dedicates "Born in the USA" as an anthem for returning vets. Lots of stories like this. Patti came out for a couple of songs and rocked the house. She has a killer voice -- no Yoko Ono here. Again, if you love Bruce and his music, its a great 2 hours. It seemed like it passed in a minute. We shelled out $400 per seat -- but it was worth every penny. We could have scalped the tickets for about double the face value but there is no way I would have missed this.
  23. Whatchyou talkin' about Willis.....I ain't no Buffalo Bill.... Signed, Gary Coleman from the afterlife So Coach doesn't blame the poor run D on Dareus being gone but part of solving the problem is signing a large D Tackle....just frickin own the decision -- Dareus was traded because he was a refer smoking lazy ass bastage in the opinion of the staff and the front office. Its a huge loss for the short term that won't be addressed until the offseason.
  24. You rock, Scott. Thank you for creating, maintaining, upgrading this forum the better part of the last 20 years. It's a volunteer effort that brings joy (and sometimes Bills performance related heartache) to a large family. Old drunk nasty uncles and cousins included.
  25. Been thinking the same thing all week JSP. This could be another indication that the Bills have something good brewing with this coaching staff. The Saints have really stepped up on D -- but without Vaccaro they are vulnerable. He is like their "brain" on D. The Bills D is likely to give up 24 even if they play great. Can the Bills O score more? Can the D score once? Can Jerry Hughes beat the double teams he will face? The D needs to get pressure on Brees on maybe 35% of his attempts (the usual is about 25%). That would be a great day and get the BIlls close to a V. Shaq and Lorax need to set the edge. I hope they use Milano more to slow down Kamara. On O--Make it hurt while the Saints D is adjusting to the cold. Nothing hurts worse than being hit hard when you are cold. Take the running game to them out of the locker room. Go 22 package early (1st couple of series) particularly if Clay is in there. Really been impressed with O'Leary and DeMarco as blockers. If successful this does two things -- keeps Brees on the bench and sets up Tyrod for play action later.
