Dear Diary, I knew it was a matter of time, St. Doug miracles on the shore of St. Augustine....my plan to undercut Gus, impress Shad and David and discredit that old fossil Coughlin worked like a charm. Quick--get me Rex Ryan's number -- I could use an experienced DC. !@#$ you Buffalo, !@#$ you Two Bills Drive...God bless me...obviously. St. Doug Head Coach Jacksonville Jaguars

It is better to say Whoa than sic 'em.....The Bills have a got a lot of guys who like to attack on O and D..but particularly on D were worried about diagnosing the formation before they moved.... -
Carucci: Lynn is having 2nd Thoughts about Bills' HC Job
JoeF replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard Lynn started the interview with this. "Doug, your press conference sucked. You implied I lied. I put a curse on you and your future offspring." Doug said: "How'd the interview with the niners go?" Lynn said: "Have I mentioned how much I love the Bills" -

Its his choice but yeah in this case the structure will evolve into Polian giving up the FT Football role like Nix did with Whaley. He will likely hire his son Chris as VP of Football Ops or VP of Pro and College scouting and it will evolve. There are a lot of flaws in this--- 1) Wade did not overlap with Reich at all-- 2) Ralph still owed Wade money at least from Wade's perspective 3) Alex and Reich did not overlap-- but its kinda of like the band of brothers -- all know the same handshake and the same guys... This thing is a mess right now...we need to put it on a path with some long term commitment. Letting Whaley pick the coach is not it.... -

Fire Whaley.. Polian - President Reich - HC Wade - DC Pill - OC Acquire one of Glennon or McCarron Overdraft DeShaun Watson @ 10 Let's go.. Flame away that I am !@#$ing living in the past .. but commit to this structure for 5 years and the Bills will make the playoffs at least once and Russ will sell a hell of a lot of tickets and sponsorships. -
Thanks Silvercrw...no disrespect -- just a little fun. So when you say mentioned, do you mean at OBD in a serious conversation between the Pegulas, Whaley and Monos. Cowher spent a lot of time trashing Rex on air this year and loves Whaley. If that's the context -- I can see a mention but not really a serious interest in coaching or President of the Bills. By the way, the love of Whaley comes from a conversation with him at the Lassiter Mill Starbucks in Raleigh about 3 years ago where the barrista and I (two Bills fans) were talking about the team when he came in and joined our conversation. Helluva nice guy. We both said -- just coach us please-- he laughed.

I will always be there for this team..no matter how foolish, insane or putrid it becomes. No matter how many times Dizzy looks at a live kickoff in the endzone and says to himself -- "hmmmmmm..in college this was a touchback.".. If they kept EJ and his slow eyes and started him, I would still be there for them If they brought back Kay Stephenson I would be there for them.. No one understands Bills fans --- the closest were Cubs fans but now even they are outside our bubble... Bills and me since 1960 and going strong.
-
I think he's happier in college and the Bills don't likely want a coach who went 3-9 with the Illini...

In year 1 with the Bills, somebody stole is strawberry muscle milk one day...can you blame him? Had his name on it and everything.

Bills Announce Whaley to Lead the Head Coaching Search
JoeF replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My Summary Post: -The Bills are down one buffoon head coach who was more into the glamour of the job then the work and had basically built Delta Tau Delta at OBD. The Pegula family foundation provided him an additional 2 year tryout for a TV Gig and have him a 36 month severance package to make it easier for him. - Doug Whaley, who is either a deity or a demon depending on your perspective, is now clearly in the cross hairs of accountability for the first time in his tenure with the Bills. The next moves are all his. I have no issue with this and hope for all of Bills fandom he can deliver. I am rooting for him like hell. - Anthony Lynn seems like a hell of a football coach who got guys to buy in this year to building an offense that was really productive and without its best player most of the season. He made adjustments for injury at WR, C, OT, RB and got great production out of guys like Kujo, Groy, Dizzy, Felton...but even he couldn't help Reggie Kardashian... He deserves a shot at the full time job -- getting the team prepared to roll the Jets this weekend with EJ at the help would be great. - Whaley probably feels he said all he needed to say last week on WGR about Rex...but it would have been nice to deflect some of the media furor from the interim head coach. I have watched the press conference 3 times now -- Lynn did fine--he did separate the decision to bench TT from the decision to start EJ...he made it clear he was told that TT was unavailable this weekend by using the injury reference (I view it as he's got a hamstring injury --even though he doesn't) -- a slick way to stating he's not available -- and I decided to go next man up. - Tyrod can still maximize his value by staying with the Bills...but he should renegotiate some of the guarantee into performance incentives. People forget that the Pegula's could have made him play this year for less than $3 million but paid him more than 3x that. Convenient memory lapse. So -- bottom line -- despite some awkward moments and continued missteps that are typical of this franchise -- Bills fans should all hope Doug Whaley is up to this task and the Bills could do a lot worse than Anthony Lynn... -
