I just gave you an example where Elam was a 1st round pick and benford was a 6th round pick in the same draft class. Yet, Benford started week 1 over him in 2022 as Elam couldn't beat him out. If what you're saying is true about draft position and return on investment, then Elam would have been the starter over Benford and Dane Jackson . But it wasn't the case.
-
I don't think his draft position has anything to do with feeding him 3x more targets than Knox every year. Knox if anything is making a lot of money, so you would think they would want to get more value out of that contract. Elam was drafted in the 1st round, but he could never beat out the 6th round rookie in Benford or even Dane Jackson. Point being: The Bills are trying to win a Super Bowl and they are going to play the best players regardless of draft position, contracts etc.

Kincaid has 100-120 targets a year. Knox gets like 30-35. Why is that the case? It's pretty simple- It's because Kincaid is a way superior receiving option than Knox. Unless you think McDermott , Joe Brady and Josh Allen are punishing Dawson Knox, the Bills are literally telling us that they also think Kincaid is a much better receiving tight end from that target share. I'm not even sure how it's debatable

Ya to a certain extent I agree with you about those advanced stats . But Kincaid has shown in the nfl he can play at a pretty high level. His rookie season he had 70 plus catches and almost 700 yards which is extremely good for a rookie TE. So i do think those stats, matchup up with the advanced stats, that the dude can clearly create separation and produce. For whatever reason last year him and Josh weren't on the same page. And It has been confirmed that he played through some pretty tough bilateral knee injuries. I do think he has been slightly disappointing the first two seasons in totality. But i just can't fathom saying that Knox is as good as him when it comes to being a receiving tight end. It's not even close IMO
-
How is he a better receiver? I seriously have no idea how a lot of people can think this. Kincaid missed 4 games last year, plus had 2 busted knees, and his receiving output last year is basically the same as Dawson Knox's last 2 years combined.
-
Haha no I knew people were down on Kincaid. But to the point where people are saying a guy with 44 catches and under 500 yards combined in 2 seasons is a better receiver than him? That's just crazy to me lol.
-
Those numbers don't factor in the lack of chemistry with Josh though . (Like you mentioned in your post) To my understanding, he had some of the highest uncatchable throws in the NfL when targeted . For whatever reason him and Josh weren't clicking. I don't have the advanced stats for route percentage winning at the top of my head, but if I heard correctly from Joe Marino, Kincaid is extremely good. Also , teams in the beginning of the year game planned heavily for Kincaid. (Some times being tripled teamed in the Arizona game). No one game plans against Knox and draws of course much more favourable matchups.
-
Saying Knox is a better receiver just tells me you either just have it out for Kincaid, or you just don't watch the bills on a consistent basis. (Respectfully) I believe it's your hatred towards Kincaid though. Knox has 44 catches and under 500 yards combined the last 2 seasons. There is ZERO world where he is a better receiver than Kincaid. And im not a "kincaid fan boy". I think he's been somewhat disappointing the first two years. But saying Knox is a better receiver than Kincaid just shows you have an agenda on Kincaid. Because no receiving stat or advanced stat will show that to be anywhere remotely true.
-
For sure. I'm not here to say Kincaid is great. Because so far I would say he's been slightly dissapointing through two seasons. I just can't go to a world where I'm even close to saying Knox is better than him though. Knox is a descent player who has value to this team. But at the end of day he's an overpaid blocking TE2, who can occasionally make a nice play in the passing game.
-
Are some people really that down on Kincaid where we are saying a guy with 22 catches in 16 games is better than him though? I get Kincaid had a disappointing year. He also missed 4 games and played through two bad knees. To put it in perspective though- Kincaid has been in the league for 2 years and Knox has played 6. And Kincaid has already had more catches and more yards in a season than Knox has ever had. I just can't even come close to saying Knox is better than Kincaid. Blocking? Sure. Receiving? Not even close
-
That's crazy talk to me. Was he Dissapointing last year? Yes. Knox is better blocker than Kincaid. But there is no world where Knox even comes close to being a better receiving tight end than him
-
Lol, say what?

Every year a lot of people on this board write off the chiefs. And every year they reach the championship game, go to the Super Bowl, or win the Super Bowl lol. No matter how bad the chiefs may look in certain stretches during the regular season, it's straight up foolish to write them off.

Ya that sounds about right. Sounds like he might return. But you bring up a good point with the suspension. Never considered that. https://heavy.com/sports/nfl/cleveland-browns/quinshon-judkins-return-bengals-jerome-ford/ -

Anyone draft Quinton Judkins? If so, where? Took him in the 16th round as a flyer -
Parsons traded to Green Bay, given $188 million contract
BillsFan130 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
The contract should have been done after year 3. If it was, parsons was probably signing for mid to high 30s, before Garrett reset the market after the 2024 season. Jerry did the same thing with Dak. Tried to play hardball, and it ended up costing him as he had to ante up and pay 60 mil per year -
Bills Officially done with Zach Davidson. Not really surprising mind you as he had a rough pre season
-
Not sure why all the hate for the signing He's probably going to be mostly a mentor and safety 5- 7 on the depth chart.
-
Are you trying to imply that Cole bishop and Rapp aren't as good as prime Poyer or Hyde?..😉
-
I hear your points. But respectfully the one big thing you're missing is Jones is really only their established 1 tech. If you cut him, you're basically rolling with Dwayne Carter as your starting 1 tech for the first 6 weeks. Oliver, Sanders and walker don't play the 1.
-
I just can't see the Bills cutting Jones myself. He is really the only true 1 tech on this team
-
It's pretty comical when you think about it.. Bills have invested 4 fairly premium draft picks the past 2 years on D lineman (maybe outside of walker),and right before the season starts they are signing a 32 year old injury prone, mediocre DT to the active roster . For the most part I'm a Brandon Beane fan, but this not a good look at all
-
Ok so who's the backup 1 tech to Daquon jones?...assuming they cut Carter What in the hell is Beane doing
-
Ya for sure, you're definitely right about them choking in the big games. Lets hope for our sake that they choke again this season haha👍
