  1. They might as well start Dart. Dart having a good season is the only way Daboll keeps his job IMO
  2. Hes a horrible DC. After week like 8 last year, I knew the guy doesn't have it. I hope he makes me sound stupid for saying that , but unfortunately I think I'm right
  3. They are a penetrating style of defence, so teams take advantage of that time after time
  4. No, for sure. But I was referring to the corner who gave up the contested catch
  5. I watched that replay- didn't look like Hamlin. Who was the corner. Couch? Hamlin looked a bit late getting there, but he didn't give up the TD catch
  6. 3rd down defence in mid season form
  7. I know it's pre season, but this literally feels exactly like last years defence lol
  8. For me, 3 main things: 1. Young D line 2. WR 5 battle 3. Safety battle
  9. No hate but Just genuinely curious- Why are you happy for him? To me (and I'm sure the majority of us) he seems like the biggest narcissist out there. Comes across as a very unlikable guy IMO
  10. Out of 17 positions in the nfl, RBs are paid 13th out of 17th on the total average contracts. (Factoring in all contracts, including the top contracts and the low ones) Only Above kicker, punter, fullback and long snapper. GMs would agree with me that for the most part, they don't move the needle. If they did, their contracts would reflect that. So ask yourself this: If RBs are that valuable and are very important to the team like a lot of you are saying , why don't they get paid more?
  11. All teams have "great running backs" is very subjective. Like I said , Jacobs and Montgomery were awful the year before they joined those top teams. Barkley and Henry as I mentioned earlier in this thread are different and those are the only two RBs I would pay, assuming the QB and O line were good. (Maybe CMC also) Cause even As good as Barkley was in NY, the giants offence was one of the worst in the league . It's All good, we can agree to disagree
  12. The correct answer is quarterbacks and o lines move the needle on offence, not RBs . Which is why top tackles get paid 30 mil, top guards get paid 25 mil and top RBs outside of barkley get paid only 15-17 mil.
  13. All those teams you listed, what's the two things they have in common? Good to elite o lines, with good to elite quarterbacks. Which is exactly my point. Jacobs was absolutely horrible in 2023 in Vegas , but then he turns great again when he goes to Green Bay. Coincidence? Montgomery averaged 4.0 YPC per in 2022 in Chicago and 3.8 YPc in 2021, but now he's considered a beast in Detroit. Again, what's the common denominator there?
  14. The one game doesn't necessarily give me the confidence. Josh and the O line does. You said there would be a massive drop off without cook, and I was just using that one game as a small example that they were fine. A RB will never move the needle, unless you're a freak like Barkley or Henry. And even still... Barkley was a beast in NY when healthy, but it didn't matter cause the giants had a horrible o line and QB
  15. In the one game that Cook missed, Ray Davis had 150 scrimmage yards. Now, I am not saying Davis is as good as Jimmy. But Josh and the O line move the needle for this offence, and I would be confident the drop off wouldn't be massive assuming we spend a day two pick on a RB next year, combined with Ray and Ty.
  16. They've used like 4 different back ups. None of them can come close to remotely having success in that offence. To Put it this way: Our backup could be Mike white this year. Miami cut him lol
  17. I strongly disagree with the friendly QB system statement. It is very complexed with a lot of motion and Tua has even stated that. (And even many dolphin reporters rip on Mcdaniel for overcomplicating it at times) Here is a stat that backs up Tua's importance: Miami since 2022 has averaged 27 ppg with Tua. Without him? 13 PPG The average team since 2022 with their starting QB scores 24 PPG. With the backup? 19.5 PPG Pretty staggering numbers with vs without Tua relative to the rest of the league, which goes to show his importance to his team
  18. This is a very fair take. I think what @dave mcbride and myself were trying to say previously in this thread was, it's a bit crazy that people think he just straight up "sucks" or is even "mediocre". I think your take on Tua is spot on
  19. Epenesa, and Hamlin also. (Although not big contracts)
  20. Who knows? We literally watched Edmund's play for 5 seasons and Bernard for 2. I don't know how anyone in their right mind wouldn't say Bernard is a better player. Dak signed for 4 years and Josh signed for 6. it's even better for Dak, since he will have another chance to cash in soon and it makes it less team friendly . We witnessed the drought years where bills would have to overpay for guys cause they were an organization with no success. Not the case anymore, which is why we get benford for 17 and a dysfunctional franchise like the jets had to pay 30 for Gardner
  21. Taron Johnson when he signed was the highest or 2nd highest paid slot corner. But I'm not sure why "money" is the only determining factor on how good a player is at their position Dak makes more per year than Josh Allen. From your logic, does that make Dak better ? Tremaine Edmund's makes 18 and Bernard makes what, 11? Do you think Edmunds is better than him? A lot of players on the bills took pretty team friendly deals because the bills have done an outstanding job of building culture, and it's a very attractive place to play, even for less money. If you think Sauce Gardner is 13 million dollars better than Benford, I don't know what to tell you
  22. All those guys I listed are top 5 at their positions. Spencer brown is a top 5 right tackle now, benford is a top 5 corner, Taron is a top 5 slot corner, Tre was a top 3 corner when he signed, Milano was a top 3 OLB when he signed, Dawkins is probably a top 3 left tackle Out of curiosity where do you have cook ranked- You think he's a top 3-5 RB in the league now?
  23. Relative to their positions- Milano, Benford, Tre White (2020 contract), Taron Johnson, Spencer Brown, Josh and Dawkins were all better than cook when they signed their extensions here . Wouldn't you agree with that?
