Which quarterback are you pulling for ultimately

They didn't. They put him on the practice squad, a perfect place for a developing QB...particularly when you have a terrific young QB as your starter. The Pack made a counter-offer to Brohm to stay after the Bills made their offer. Doesn't sound like they cut the cord to me. -
I saw Bruce in 1976. I was very excited to go, as I absolutely LOVED The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle. Born to Run was the new album, and I really didn't care that much for it...but I was still looking forward to the concert. It was OK. Not particularly memorable. Actually I was a bit disappointed, given all the stuff I heard about his show. It wasn't terrible, though. The stuff I see him doing in his TV concerts these days is an embarrassment. As for Clarence (The Big Man) Clemons, he was fun when I saw him with Bruce. He SUCKED, and sucked hard when I saw him playing with his own band. Man he really is a horrible sax player...at least he was that night. I really can't think of my absolute favorite concert, there are too many. Here are a few highlights off the top of my head: A great all-day concert at SUNY Albany in 1976 (I think). Among the highlights were the sensational mandolin playing of Frank Wakefield, the violin of Vassar Clements and a brilliant life-changing guitar performance by Roy Buchanan. Around the same time I saw The Outlaws (a new band at the time) in a very small ballroom, set up for the concert. They were great. But what made it really special was awesome performance (and the ear-splitting volume) of Les Dudek. I saw Les about a year ago and he actually is an even better guitar player now. But that first exposure to his music can never be matched. I hope to see Les again next week in Orlando. Jean Luc Ponty in the latter part of the 1970's (I'm thinking 1977). Daryl Stuermer on guitar and funky Ralphe Armstrong on bass. What a fabulous band and an absolutely mind blowing performance. No dancing, no shtick...just freakin' music. It really changed what I look for in a live performance. The David Grisman Quartet (or was it quintet?) at the Tralfamadore (downtown) in Buffalo. I was already a HUGE fan of Dawg music, but seeing if live for the first time was really something special. The mushrooms didn't hurt, either. I'm tired and so I am sure to be forgetting many. I can say some of my concert highlights are: The Band, Climax Blues Band, Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard (he fired his drummer on stage), Dave Mason, Blue Oyster Cult (very early in their career), Golden Earring and Focus together, Santana, Van Morrison, Steely Dan (of course), Oscar Peterson and Tower of Power. EDIT: I should note that I saw Journey absolutely blow the place away in concert. Just fantastic. This was. of course, before Steve Perry. They were a new off-shoot (in a way) of Santana and they were fantastic. Years later I had the displeasure of seeing them with Perry and they sucked. And I forgot to mention Zappa. How could I forget to mention Zappa?

Nice to see Ponty getting some love. Not the album I would pick, but great stuff, nonetheless. -

Brohm has played in exactly TWO NFL games in his career (not counting Preseason). We have no idea if he can be any good, based on what little we have seen. Are you judging him based on some preseason performance? Really? The Pack made a last minute offer to keep him, so they must have thought he had some potential...right? I'm certainly not saying he is the answer, or should start. I really don't know, because we have seen very little of what he can do. I think we kind of know what Trent can, and can't do (although I'd be willing to give him a fresh start if gets the starting nod). Like I said earlier, whoever does best should start, IMO. I kind of hope it is Brohm, because they might mean an improvement over what we have seen (if he beats the others out in camp/preseason). I have never understood people rooting AGAINST the success of a player on their favorite team. -
Looks like a good year for CBs. Outstanding!

Yes, I believe it is meant for screen shots of problems. But as you can see, "some moron" simply posts stupid random pictures in that thread. That's what would likely happen here, too.

Did you miss my post? I solved those two (and more) with one selection. -
Yes. Yes it has.

I will call you when I land on Thursday. Put a bottle of the Screaming Eagle aside for me, please.

Whichever QB executes the new offense the best. -
$2 Chuck is fairly awful stuff, IMO. Yes, it is better than nothing if you are flat broke, but that's about it. The other problem is there is little consistency from batch to batch. I actually have had the occasional taste that wasn't bad. The next time I tried it, it sucked. This was true of the white and the red. Walmart sells wine under the label of Oak Leaf for $2 or $3 that seems to be the same thing (at least same quality) as Charles Shaw. I suppose, if you try, you can find a wine selling for $15 that is as bad as Charles Shaw. But if you use your head, you can do FAR better than Two Buck Chuck for about $4, at least in California. In Ohio you may have to spend $6.

Purple dank. That's a new one to me. Ya gotta wonder why he still uses the cheap ghetto buzz, now that he can afford something much cleaner and better. This stuff has to be rough on the system. Codeine is a painkiller. That's one of its primary uses (that and as a cough suppressant). He may be taking it for other reasons, but I'm sure it helped dull the pains he gets from playing, much as Vicodin does.

Me too. That's why I had to post.

No. What I am saying is the accounting is real time. I make an ATM withdrawal or POP transaction and it is reflected immediately online. No different from BOA, from what I can see. A few years ago I had a different CU that had a delay in their accounting. Like I said, you may be right about this. It may depend on the size of the CU. But things may also have changed. There is a huge difference in the availability of ATM's from what there was just two or three years ago. Credit union associations seem to be getting better at delivering their services. Small depositors aren't the preferred customers of commercial banks. When a major account holder has a problem, or potential problem, with their account do you think they simply get an email? They have an account manager taking care of their issues. Wtih a CU, customers like me are their bread and butter. They are designed to cater to people like me, not simply tolerate my business. Once when I got a call about my overdraft payment coming due I was out of town and low on funds. I asked if I could have two extra days, to get the cash when I returned. "No problem", I was informed. "Is there anything else I can help you with?" The other day I stopped at the bank to get a cashier's check. The teller, who knows me by name, noticed I had yet to sign a form allowing me to use the overdraft protection on the ATM's. This was always fine, but a new law, or policy, made signing a form a prerequisite before using ATMs for overdrafts. I'm sure I got the notice in the mail and ignored it, or didn't open it yet. Anyway, the teller noticed, told me of the procedure and opted me into the program on the spot. Like you say, it all depends on your needs and expectations. All I can say is I had a ton of problems, fees (I never keep a minimum balance), policy changes that I never found out about, etc, at commercial banks. I have none of these issues with my current CU. When you say there are "lots of downsides to using CUs for checking accounts" I think that is a HUGE exaggeration. I also think your experience may be based on some old info, or maybe experience with a substandard CU. Now, if you are a high dollar client, tie your accounts (savings, money market, etc) together and/or use many of the commercial services supplied by commercial banks, I can understand using them for checking. I think many of us have simpler needs in that dept.

You can get $500 from a CU Service Center Teller, plus whatever you can take from an ATM. That has always worked out for me. There is a 24-hour emergency telephone number for reporting lost/stolen cards. Dunno about the procedure for replacement, though. As for getting flagged, and having it lifted, I have no idea. Something to research for someone considering moving their $$, though. Bill pay seems to be the same, as far as real-time transactions, as BOA's bill pay. The GI isn't as fancy, but it gets the job done. I even get a personal telephone reminder from a CU employee if a loan, or overdraft, isn't paid right away. They try to get a hold of you before any fee incurs to remind you of the due date. Very nice, IMO. I'm sure there are advantages and disadvantages, depending on the CU and bank you use. But to me the advantages of very personal service (at a CU you get treated like a real customer, in my experience) and low/no fees far outweighs any negative I might encounter down the road. Like I said, I have used both and will never go back to a huge national bank.

You must be SERIOUSLY bored.

Why an F? They haven't done anything BAD at this point, either. Does every team get an F? Does every team with a new HC get an F? I agree these preseason grades are totally bogus, but I don't see the reason to replace extreme optimism, or realistic prognostication with extreme pessimism. The grade they should get, IMO, is an Incomplete.

Another thing about my CU that I like. No envelope needed to deposit at their ATM.

The linebacker score seems a bit high, considering we don't really know about the OLB positions.
