While I still prefer the no-picture forum, that's not a bad suggestion.

Trent one of the "strongest arms in the NFL"
The Dean replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Plagiarism? I referenced it, and put it in quotes, moron. The link has already been provided. Unlike you, I have a freaking clue how to reference material that influences a post. -
I'm guessing people who did that much acid, that often, probably didn't have a whole lot left in the old brain gas tank. They likely ended up the unfortunate victims of their own insane experiment.

Well, now that I've seen that Scientific video, it's obvious Trent should start. How about this, highly rated, comment?: -
Evidently Google Maps Aren't Idiot Proof.

Of course the flip side is buying something somewhat technical and getting NO directions, whatsoever. That's always fun. -

Yes, well you certainly may be, anyway. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gruntled I think it should be used more often. -

New Iphone can do everything but make phone calls
The Dean replied to Fingon's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Of the 10, or so, friends I know who use an iPhone (3G or 4G), at least 6 of them carry another phone in order to make calls. Not a business phone, mind you, but a phone that actually works as a phone. And it isn't just AT&T as these alternate phones are usually on the AT&T network, too. -
No doubt. Particularly when regular and prolonged use is involved. While acid and mushrooms aren't for everyone, I really believe you are missing something if you don't at least try tripping once or twice. Sometimes I meet a person with an extremely rigid view of what constitutes reality/truth and I think. "That person has never tripped." But remember, kids, always trip safely. Make sure you are in a safe and comfortable environment and with people you know and completely trust. Having a guide who has been there before helps, too. And, when it all goes crazy (as it will) keep in mind, "It's just the drugs." Those people really aren't snakes and the guy across the street doesn't know you are tripping (and screw him if he does). Things will go back to some approximation of "normal".

I know a few very successful (and intelligent and funny) people who, according to them, lived on acid in their youth. I shared a house off-campus in Albany my junior year of college, and the other guys used to regularly do acid and go play racketball (or squash...or racketball on a squash court). I joined once or twice, but acid was always a bit hard on me (not like mushrooms). Anyway, I'd like to know what became of those guys. I imagine they turned out OK, for the most part.

I came to give advice, but got a tip instead. I will have to check this out. Petite Sirah (quite different than Syrah, and much bigger) and Barbera are two of my favorite "under the radar" wines. As has already been mentioned, Zin is a fine red wine, with some real body. This sounds like an interesting blend, to me and at $10, what do I have to lose? I just wonder if I can find it hear in Fla. Considering you aren't really a fine wine drinker, this was probably a good safe choice for you. Santa Rosa is in Sonoma County. Dunno if the Merlot you bought is labeled "Sonoma" or "California" but if it is from Sonoma grapes, you probably got good value. Merlots are all over the map, when it comes to body, but most are a bit soft these days. Many Somoma wineries still make a heavier bodied Merlot, but they still tend to be fairly easy to drink. As has been noted, Cabs really are the thing here, but something a little bit softer is probably better for you. Chef's suggestions also would have been good for you, I think, but they are a bit pricey for someone who really isn't "into wine". Enjoy! Have a great weekend.

If You Had the World's Crappiest iPod......
The Dean replied to WotAGuy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Bastard! Of course it is impossible. But you have the right idea, IMO. I understood the situation to be, you only get 5, and you are stuck with those 5 for life. Sort of like "Desert Island" albums. I couldn't understand why people would pick 5 from the same genre, or something new they like a lot at the moment. Wouldn't you want a mix of music, and something you know you will still like many years later. But, Looking back at the question, it doesn't say you can't change the albums on the iPod, or that you are stuck with only those 5 for life. So maybe other people didn't use the Desert Island standard. -

The Dean replied to WotAGuy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
1. Steely Dan: Citizen Steely Dan (4 Disks) 2. Captain Beyond: Captain Beyond 3. Glenn Gould: The Complete Original Jacket Collection (80 disks. That's cool, right?) 4. A Van Morrison album. (Probably one of the following: Astral Weeks, Moondance, Veedon Fleece, What's Wrong With This Picture?) 5. Chet Baker: My Funny Valentine At least that's tonight's list. -
Well, now I HAVE to try it.

Extremely well done. And funny. I actually liked that show, but recognized it wasn't a "good show", if that makes any sense. Like Darin I wish they would have given it more time. This one is going to appeal to a few more people, I think.

If you like Louis CK, then I advise you to check out this new show. Just saw the first two episodes and they will be repeated tonight and I"m sure over the next week. This is a better TV show than Lucky Louie (which always had me laughing, even though it was a very tough show to watch). but it still isn't for everyone. A show w/o cliches (except, perhaps, for the set used in the stand up segment). Don't go looking for morals, happy endings or a particular narrative outside of the current sketch/segment. Here's a good review: http://www.salon.com/entertainment/tv/heat...isis/index.html

I have no problem with Vampires, as long as they aren't the angst-ridden, emo vampires of the recent popular movies and TV series. Those vampires blow.

Same here. It's past 11PM and I am totally full...but I'm hungry for steak.

I never had much of a problem getting shrooms in WNY.

Hallucinogens have been pretty hard to come by, these days. My antenna is always up for mushrooms (Psilocybin) and plenty of people have said they can get them and/or acid. Saying and doing are very different things, it seems. Mushrooms are best for my head, but at this point acid would do.
