I'm interested in Inception, but not necessarily because of Nolan. It's playing at an IMAX theater here. Is this something that would benefit from that? (Not really asking you, Joe as you haven't seen it.)

I liked Memento (which I finally saw after many years of saying I was going to see it) but actually hated both Batman movies. I thought The Prestige was pretty boring, but that may have been due to me being a bit under the weather when I saw it. I will try it again sometime. I consider Nolan to be pretty overrated and feel the same way about DiCaprio.

Well, he WAS a #2 WR on the Cards. Fitzgerald was #1. But I think the response points out two things: #1. The position of the WR on any given team doesn't equal a particular draft pick. It's an idiotic question. (Consider the source) #2. The idea that Evans is a #2 (when clearly he has been the Bills #1 for years) is also flawed. Evans would likely be #1 on at least 50% of NFL teams, IMO. He has to be one of the most underrated players in the NFL at this point. Given the QB situation, and the general incompetence of the Bills offense during his tenure, it's pretty impressive Evans has put up the numbers he has, to date. In response to the original question, I doubt the Bills could get what Evans is worth. I think it's a fairly dumb idea to begin with.

The article was based on a set of data comparisons, not a knowledge of the region. You can certainly quibble with the data chosen, the analysis of the data, the methodology, etc. if you wish.

The real issue here, I think, is Pat says he got the info from "a pair of current players". Do you think Chan has told the players who will be #1 in the training camp pecking order? If he told these players can we assume he told the entire team? If he told the entire team, I'm guessing there would be more leaks, and to reporters with a lot more clout than Moran. If he only told a few players, Chan must have a good idea who leaked the info. Of course, Chan has probably not told ANY player what he is thinking with regard to QB, just yet. I'm not saying Edwards will or won't get the TC nod, but it probably has nothing to do with this report.

I think it should be clear by now that I have little respect for authors like Koontz or McDonald's. I believe that, in most cases (not all) if the masses like something it's probably crap. Sell-outs that dumb-down their product for the masses, in order to make money, ranks among the things that offend me most. In this case though, we aren't really dealing with that. I think we are dealing with marginally talented individuals who are pretty much doing marginal work to make a s#itload of cash. I am also offended when making money is the main goal of any enterprise. I have no problem with people making money as a result of doing good work, but in those cases doing good work is the goal and the $$ is the reward. When the $$ comes first, the entire enterprise is compromised. Obviously, I am regularly offended in my day-to-day life.
