  1. Indeed (although not necessarily in the 1st round). But I'd like to see that guy sit for a year or two and have a real chance at success. Let's hope Brohm proves to be at least adequate. I think he might be that, and a bit more.
  2. Sure it does. But there are QBs who can do far more than Trent behind a poor OL. Aaron Rodgers and Big Ben are two that immediately come to mind. They had a margin of success with very poor offensive lines, at one time or another. Kurt Warner did OK with a garbage line, too. The answer to the original question is: Both.
  3. I think Fitz makes sense in the short-term, as he has a bit more experience and probably knows the playbook a tad better, too. I think Brohm has the most potential of the three QBs, and they should be grooming him to be the starter. Throwing him to the lions now, may not be the best thing for his future, or that of the Bills. If Fitz totally tanks, then Chan won't have much of a choice. But if the Harvard man can run the offense a bit better than Trent (which he has in the past), and keep the Bills in the game, they can bring BB along a bit more slowly. Even if the Bills completely tank this year, and end up drafting a QB in the 1st round, I would hate to see that guy start year #1. I'd like to see Brohm step up and become a competent #1 QB for this team, even if it is only for a year, or two.
  4. I'd like to see the Bills make a move. (I like Lynch, but something needs to be done with OL, QB and LB.) However, I voted he will still be with the Bills, because I don't think they will make the trade.
  5. How bad are Chickpeas? So bad they keep changing the name, in order to trick people into eating them again, I'm sure: Chickpea Garbanzo Bean Ceci Bean Indian Pea There may be more, who knows? I had a boss that hated these vile buggers so much, the office gave him a can of them as a gag gift. He was pissed for days, as he didn't even want to look at the can...that's how much he hates them. With that said, I don't like Lentils, either. And Trent isn't a vegetable. He's a glove-wearing Mary.
  6. Left tackle? Good luck with that. Maybe some day, I guess, if they get lucky. But of course the Pack wouldn't dream of trading him now, especially for a RB.
  7. You check your man card at the door, first thing on Sunday morning?
  8. I think the "conventional mores and societal norms" you subscribe to were outdated 20 years ago. You are a "throwback" to be kind. The world has moved on. Some individuals choose to remain behind. Don't worry, even though you have no idea what goes on or how it's managed, feel free to criticize it! That's the norm around here. Where should a woman be? In the kitchen? That has to be the most sexist comment in this thread, so far. This isn't about women or men, it's about professional reporters. It's not about SEX, it's about doing a job. Can't you understand how socially backwards your comments are? My first question is, did she have reason to be there? You say she was "casually chilling out", but also say "she had legitimate reasons for dealing with you". If being in the locker room wasn't part of the legitimate reason, you are right. No outsiders, other than those doing jobs related to the team/sport, belong in the locker room. I'd prefer no reporters in locker rooms, but that isn't the way it is. Reporters are doing their jobs, as are trainers, etc. What if it was a woman trainer? Would it be OK for her to be in the locker room doing her job? Have you ever gone to a female medical doctor? Seriously, the level of old-school sexism in your posts is at an unbelievably high level. Thankfully that kind of thought is dying out.
  9. Now you can go back and change the tread title to correct "Michigan" to "Michigan State"
  10. GREAT article. And it puts to bed the nonsense about male reporters not being able to go into any Women's locker rooms.
  11. Perhaps you miss the extended conversation on this topic earlier in the thread. Even though "irregardless" may be listed as a word in some dictionaries, those very entries make it clear it is a word that should be avoided. This is from the link you provided: And this dictionary is being kind. An NFL spokesperson should know better than to use a word that makes one seem stupid.
  12. Alma mater? Wossamotta U?
  13. This sounds horrible on almost every level.
  14. Fitty tree anna haf
  15. What leads you to believe anyone needing that advice would be intelligent enough to benefit from it?
  16. I will listen to it later tonight. But if Sully really did say the Bills should CUT Lynch, then he is a clueless moron. There are teams trying to trade for Lynch right now. Why would you cut a guy instead of getting something in trade?
  17. If you were thinking of getting an iPad, it's a no-brainer. I can't see a real use for it in my life, but that's me. I hate iTunes, so I wouldn't use it there, but it's a thought. Apple TV is only $100. That might be a good place to blow some of the $. An iPhone is a thought, if you don't already have a smart phone. I'd probably take the cash.
  18. Or Talking Heads. (Here it comes...) Just as they were with Ms. Roth on vocals.
  19. What a riveting political analysis. No reason to actually think. Just follow slogans!
  20. And that would help you "going to the Bills game" how, exactly? It doesn't matter what state you live in, if you are going to the Bills game, you are NY state.
  21. You can take them somewhere and get them transferred relatively inexpensively. I had to do about 20 tapes, so I did them myself while watching TV, over the course of a week or two. But if you have a buttload, you might be better off paying someone.
  22. Nesmith and Tork were both musicians before The Monkees. Tork was a multi-instrumentalist and friend of Stephen Stills, I believe. Nesmith of course, turned out to be pretty talented on many different fronts. Neither Dolenz nor Davey Jones were musicians before the Monkees. But supposedly Jones could play drums a bit (he didn't play for The Monkees) and Dolenz had a pretty good voice. I think of Davey Jones as basically the same as Justin Beiber (however you spell it). Not a musician, but made famous because he looked good and had an acceptable voice. The girls love him, or so they say.
  23. I agree with all of this. I accused a teacher of being a "language vigilante" once, as he was totally unacceptable of slang and regionalism in language. But this goes far beyond that.
