:bag: :bag: :bag: :bag: I heard they were one of the bidders for The Bills.

Todd France? The placekicker? What am I missing here? OK, I think you may be talking about the agent. How is he qualified to be in charge of football operations? This is is a legit question. Other than being an agent, what are his qualifications?

You should post more often.

Time to clean up the condo, I guess.

If you find yourself in North Florida, I'll buy you dinner. No predictions required.

From what I have read YOU seem to be the poster confused about his role with player personnel. It's over. Trump WOWED them today. Show over. Team moving to London.....Ontario.
-
You seem to be obsessed with Brandon's involvement with player personnel. He is not really involved in any meaningful way now. Yes, Whaley reports to him because he is acting, for the time being, as a de facto owner. That doesn't mean he weighs in, or has any particular veto power, in those decisions. Even if he keeps the same title and responsibilities under the new ownership things will be different for one simple reason: He will then have a boss to report to--the new owner. Relax for Christ's sake.

Um, you do know Morgan Stanley isn't selling, nor buying, the team, right? What they think of Buffalo, the Bills or the fans is totally irrelevant to the process. They could be scum sucking weasels and it would have no bearing on who gets the team. The Trust (with Mary Wilson at the helm) has already proven to care about keeping the Bills in Buffalo. The directive to the TO/JBJ group to make a clearer commitment to keeping the Bills in WNY should be proof of that. Any bidder not passing that basic test won't be considered. First we have people complaining there were only 3 bids (the trust and Morgan Stanley screwed the pooch!). Now many of the same people are complaining about the news there may be up to 8 bidders (the sky is falling, the team is surely moving!). All you really need to know is, the Bills will likely sell for a record NFL price...AND... they are staying in WNY Don't worry. Be happy. (you morons)

The process isn't "maddening" if you simply stop overreacting to every little twist and turn--all which are quite normal and to be expected in a transaction of this type. It's likely there is another month, or so, to go before the final decision is made. And longer before it is officially announced. It would be terrible if someone had a nervous breakdown related to this issue, especially if that someone has nothing to do with the process (and apparently no understanding of it.). I'm thinking the best thing you can do is, step away from the keyboard for awhile --for your own good (and the good of the thread, quite frankly).. Avoid news of the sale, as best you can. Check in some time in September for an update. I think you will sleep better. And Kirby and the others, won't have to repeat themselves several times a day.

Bills Backers Bar in St. Catharines Ontario
The Dean replied to James Kelly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The original Regina might have been decent once upon a time. But I love Santarpio's. It's a very different type of pizza, though. Now I'm hungry for Santarpio's pizza and sausage. -

You misspelled "Center". Best of luck. I grew up going to the track (Garden City Raceway) in St Catharines with my father back in the late 60's, early 70's. It was a beautiful harness track. BTW, do you know of a place called Mugs and Jugs (or something to that effect) near St C? Just curious. It was quite a while ago. -
The official HOF game second half thread

Just curious. Did you used to post under a different handle? I feel as though I recognize your particular brand of stupid. -
Yet Graham and other "reporters" make it seem as though there is something new here. Some substance. Where? What has changed? Perhaps had JBJ started this way a few months ago, things would be different. Also, I'd like to hear from his partners on the subject.
-
Just curious, but how does JBJ's statement change anything? He falls far short of guaranteeing he will NEVER move the team. Period. Because of the way they have operated, and because the group includes a guy who has talked about moving a team to TO, only a guarantee to never move will assuage Bills fans. And quite frankly that might not be enough, at this stage. Now is that too much to ask of anyone looking to make a billion dollar investment? Probably. So the JBJ hate will continue.

Man these old guys can talk. Holy crap! And, they really should do this on a Sunday. The Lord has never been so loved. Nice job, Andre.

Watch it, bub! I'm always lurking, Hazed. That's exactly what I'm thinking. You bet your arse I'm making notes. I'm a bit confused about why Golisano is bidding, He made a point of saying he would be available to help keep the Bills in Buffalo, but made it clear he wasn't "possessed" to be the Bills owner. He almost made it seem like he would be a reluctant bidder if no local options emerged. I honestly figured Pegula's interest would relieve him of any responsibility he felt to the area. Pegula is clearly keeping the Bills in the Bufftown. I had to wonder if he was bidding simply to let the Bon Jovi group (and perhaps Trump) know they will have to outbid two "local" guys, not one. Now, if it's true the Wilsons want Golisano (I'm not sure how we know that) it might simply be a bid to save face. Or perhaps it is a bid to ensure there are enough bidders in the process to make sure they are getting top price. I don't begrudge them that. For the record: Pegula Golisano Trump Bon Jovi isn't getting the team based on many factors. I don't think people should be worried about that anymore (I never was). Nonetheless, I will continue my life long boycott of Bon Jovi based solely on his horrible music.

Ridiculous Pegula fracking assertion made by Bulldog.

WOW! I just stopped in to say, "Thanks for the entertainment." I look forward to stopping in during the season. I'm cautiously optimistic while keeping plausible deniability. -
OK enough is enough! Have I ever mentioned how much I despise Fred Smerlas?

Ralph already told you who we were drafting

He's barely 6' tall. I don't think height is everything, but in today's NFL a 6' QB is playing with a serious disadvantage. -
http://wsb.wharton.upenn.edu/documents/research/jseIIrevjun2010.doc This is a Wharton School of Business analysis of the impact of the Rooney Rule.
-
Here's how you know when the Rooney rule is really obsolete: The same washed-up Black guys keep getting HC jobs despite their miserable performance in their previous jobs, because they are good friends with the GM.
-
It really isn't a waste of time. I think the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. Even though the Cowboys have no intention of hiring a particular candidate as their HC, an honest interview helps both sides. It gives the minority candidate real interview experience, his name bandied about as a candidate (which helps lead to future interviews...one of which he may actually get). It also may open the eyes of the Cowboy FO to consider the candidate for this HC job, a coordinator position or a HC job in the future. If they are impressed it may also help the candidate get a job with another team, as team owners and GMs talk to one another. Some Black candidates have refused interviews they saw as less than honest. They felt insulted. That's their right. But more have accepted them as they did NOT feel insulted, at least not enough to pass on a chance to get this experience.

Yesterday's Meltdown Was Best Thing
The Dean replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don't think Chan learned that LAST week, in the meltdown against the Pats*? -
It doesn't get any more "old boy" than in Dallas. We'll know the Rooney Rule is no longer needed when the "old boy club" isn't also a "white boy club".

I KNOW I will NOT be watching. I will however, read this thread if Coli resumes his episode summaries.
