There is a severe penalty for breaking the lease on The Ralph with Erie County. In fact, there is a severe penalty for attempting to break the lease. I think the smart money says the new stadium is ready for the out in 2020---or a at the end of the current lease. I figure it will take at least that long to get the project designed, approved and built. BTW, is the new Peace Bridge finished yet?

What would the Bills do if EJ got hurt this preseason?
The Dean replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've got something to help out that poor turtle: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MossyTortoise One word. YIKES! Truthfully I don't really understand why we have this thread. The Bills would do exactly what most every team would do. Start their backup and take a look at who is available. How hard is that to understand? Truth is, as a team who has a developing (hopefully) starting QB, the Bills should be in better shape than most teams, as their emphasis should be on the running game. -
Indeed. Which is just one of the many reasons he is the wrong owner for the team. I laughed when, in his "explanation letter" in the Buffalo Snooze, he said he would be in Buffalo all the time. Do you really want this putz in Buffalo all the time? Goes without saying, but important to mention nonetheless.

I think he's the best choice and hope he is the frontrunner. But I'd be remiss in not considering just how much power this gives him locally. Owner of both pro teams, as well as involved in much of the downtown redevelopment. Maybe even the owner of a new multi-use stadium (yes, I know we are getting ahead of ourselves there). That gives him a ton of sway in a smallish town like Buffalo.

Computer is fine. I have my laptop ready to go and hooked-up to the TV.

Playing Bon Jovi, however ironically, is never a good idea.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I think they'd have to be teaming up with someone. Pegula doesn't need them, but maybe someone like Golisano might. I think the Hugely Wealthy Mystery Group isn't a bad guess.
-
You may have missed the posts explaining they are teaming with someone with even more money then Pegula. I would like to think it gives The Trust more options of owners committed to keeping the team in WNY. As to "who we all want" that's about as meaningful as a fart in the wind. Don't think we play any part in this. Trust the Trust.

Holy crap, I forgot about that idiot. -
Better late than never, I suppose.

I actually think that's a smaller issue if he is serious about buying the team. He knows he would have to divest. He has children, you know.
-
He has children. One of them could technically own one of the teams.
-
I'm hoping it is him (but somehow I doubt it). The multiple ownership rules could easily be bypassed because he has family who could take over the Bruins, or technically own the Bills.

Never mind, I didn't read all the way through

Just replayed a bit of the HOF game on the Android app. Seemed to work fine. Hopefully I won't have to find out how it works during a live game.

Thanks, guys. I'm not sure whose promo code I used, but thank you! I hope it works better than it did for some last night. There is an google play (and itunes) app, why can't you get those to work? I'll be pretty pissed if I am stuck with my tablet and can't get the app to work. Hopefully I will be home by that time.

They are an embarrassment. At one time Simon was pretty good. I'm not sure if that is still the case as I haven't heard him in a while. For the most part, sports radio is an embarrassment. I admit I have a hard time listening to forced controversy (and the total void of reasoned discussion) for which the genre is so famous. But Shopp and Bulldog represent the bottom of the barrell. -
OK, I have a question for you guys, I just don't quite know how to ask it, or what exactly the question is, specifically, or that is even one question. (How that for a preamble?) I believe the NFL prefers to have a single owner, but is willing to accept a group where the lead guy has X percent of the team. Of course, they don't get to choose who gets the first shot at buying the team. But I can't help but wonder how a group with Kelly, Gundlach and now a guy over Gundlach is a better situation for approval than Pegula, the quintessential "one owner" guy. So does The Trust consider something like that? If The Trust sells to this conglomerate (I know) instead of Pegula, will the NFL owners balk? I'm sure there are better questions there, but I'm in the middle of something here and can't focus my question. Try to make it interesting!

Wawrow is a pro and old-school, in that he reports. He is consistently the guy who will give you the straight story without adornment. I'll give some credit to Graham and Kryk for staying on top of the story. But those guys like to engage in hype, controversy (sometimes forced), speculation, etc to drive readership. And yes, I am guilty of checking in to get more information. The difference between us and some of the others is, we don't react to every bit of information. I don't know how some of these guys keep their sanity when ever bit of "information" makes them crazy.
-
Gotcha. I thought that might be the case. My bad for not recognizing your previous posts.

I have to assume this is some sort of joke, right? You are right about one thing, the trust will never sell another team unless Ralph dies again. Perhaps you meant "Morgan Stanley" instead of "the trust". In which case, if they sell the team for a record amount of $$ for an NFL franchise (which is likely) why wouldn't they be used again? The process only seems screwed up because it is so public, and because the information leaking is incomplete or downright inaccurate. Oh, and because fans have no idea of how these things work,
-
How so? They are selling a rare billion-dollar-plus business. To complicate things they are engagine in a process that is typicall extrememly private under a media microscope. Don't forget, typically we hear nothing of the process when most teams sell. The only people who look like clowns are the fans who demand the team be sold like a car at auction. We have known from the beginning this would be a process. But when we get these incomplete (and likley inaccurate) updates on a daily basis, we expect them to just hurry up and make a decision. That's not going to happen. Adjust your expectations and relax.

Ryan Mallett - back on the block?
The Dean replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wasn't basing his on his performance last night. I didn't see any of that game. I've always sort of liked him. What I saw of him in regular season I liked, to tell the truth. With that said, I'm not really suggesting the Bills trade for him---unless the price was very reasonable, which I doubt it will be. My point was (and it wasn't well made it seems) that he is preferable to Mallet, who I didn't like coming out of college and who has shown nothing in the NFL. I think if Mallet has a chance to be good, it will be with a team like the Pats*, who have shown they can win with a marginal QB. -

I actually like Cousins. I thought the Bills might draft him, as he lasted to a point where that was reasonable. I doubt the Washington [Racially Insensitive Name Here] would consider trading him for a reasonable price, though. Mallet? Puhleeze.Maybe he amounts to something, but my money is against it. The best place for him is in NE, IMO. I'm actually fine with EJ for now.
