The NFL hasn't "banned" his helmet. His particular helmet is just too old to be certified. It looks like he may have found a newer helmet of the same model with one (possibly two?) years left before it's over 10 years old. If it fits him, he can get it refurbished and repainted. If it passes the recertification, he can wear it. Once it's over 10 years old, he won't be able to wear it anymore. At least that's the way I understand it.

Completely bizarre---just the way I like it! I think someone from the Raiders should just smash his current helmet while he is away, then just say there are no more to be had. BTW, I saw one comment in that long Mike Silver twitter thread (hey guys, write and article if you are writing an article) that suggested the story of Brown damaging his feet in the cyro were "debunked". Usually I wouldn't give some twitter comment the time of day, but that caught my eye. I did a quick search when I read it and could find no real objection to his frostbite story. Anyone have any info on this?

I put it there. Don't tell anyone.

I must have missed when the Celt's GM paraded around saying/tweeting "He sucks and he's gone, Mother#^*er! He don't get da money. No no!!!" THAT'S unprofessional. If he was traded in the traditional manner, and told about it in private, that's EXACTLY professional. It may be cold-hearted, insensitive, etc. but it isn't unprofessional. Plus, IT will get his money. I don't think many are complaining about Ramsey asking to redo his contract. It's the completely ridiculous spectacle/stunt in the worst possible place to perform said stunt: In front of your teammates.

I'm very familiar with choosing your seat online. Last month I had to take a last minute flight for a friend's funeral. There were only a few seats left on any flight I could find for the timeframe I was looking for. NONE of them were "more legroom" seats. Fortunately I have short legs and didn't need it. And to say he didn't have a schedule for the day because he was late, is completely moronic. You never had circumstances make you late for something" Well congrats, but that's simply not the real world. Once again, you've opined on a topic with which you have no knowledge. Now you're double-talk your way through it. Just man up when you are wrong. But I know that's beneath you.

Still trolling, I see. You say "he could have just booked a better seat on another flight". Do you know what flights had 1st class seats available that day? Do you keep his schedule? Perhaps he had something to do stateside he really didn't want to cancel. Unlike a troll, I don't pretend to have all of someones information available to me. You say "He knew what seat he was getting when he got that ticket." He may, or may not, have known how little leg room that particular seat had, as I'm not sure the last time Cam flew coach, and on that particular aircraft. Apparently you have all that knowledge, because you feel comfortable criticizing his actions. Typical troll BS. He simply asked someone to change seats with him. I don't fly a lot, these days, but even now I see someone ask to switch seats about half the time I fly. Maybe we should all criticize everyone who asks someone to trade. At least Cam offered real compensation for the privilege. Forgetting the stupidity of trying to read someone's mind and assign dubious motivations for their actions. let's just look at what took place: A guy was late for his flight with a reserved 1st class seat. He took another flight, no 1st class seat was available. He asked someone in a seat with more legroom to switch, even offering $1,500 in compensation. the man refused to switch and the unfortunate passenger went back to his seat, which he sat in for the trip. Until you introduce the man as Cam Newton, there's really nothing to see here. And my contention is there's still nothing to see. Only someone with a personal reason to disparage Cam, or just some loser who can't resist posting nonsense simply for a reaction, would bother to cast aspersions on Cams intentions or behavior.

Hasn't anyone actually stopped to pay attention to what happened here? Cam WAS booked on a 1st class seat, but missed his flight. There were no 1st class seats available on the flight he ended up taking. The passenger approached was NOT in 1st class, but was in the first row of coach. (Had the guy been in 1st class, he would have already turned down a way to save a lot of money---maybe more than $1,500---when he bought the 1st class ticket. But that was NOT the case.) I see nothing wrong with Cam asking someone to switch seats and offering a very generous fee to boot. I also see nothing wrong with the other passenger turning him down. My only question is why he didn't do some quick bidding with all the 1st row passengers. I bet someone would have switched for less than $1,500.

Fouts or Rivers? Young or Montana?
The Dean replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fouts and Young. Next question. -
My exact response. As he got to know the team/players he got a bit better and seemed to pay a bit more attention. I never really thought he was anti-Bills. But he was a Pat's* guy and early on he seemed pretty lazy. He got a bit better. I knew the new reporter would catch s#it here once people heard he previously covered the Panthers.

Ol Dirty, I don't disagree. I don't think Tasker is ever going to be Romo in the broadcast booth. But that's exactly why, if Tasker wants to improve as a broadcaster, he needs to put MORE effort into the prep, not less. I'm not certain if RockpileSurvivor's observation if correct, but if so it's embarrassing. If you are getting paid to do a job you should approach it professionally and put in the work. Well it's one thing to turn the dial on the radio. It's another thing completely to turn the dial when it's the game being televised.

Not too bad, Whiskey Dick. How the hell are you? It's good to see you are still kicking some tail around here and putting the morons in their place. [Opens the door very widely for expected DC Tom abuse.]

I'll never tell.

Tasker was a terrific ST player and, IMO, deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. OTOH, he was an abysmal football analyst and was nearly unlistenable--at least for me. My guess is, Steve didn't prepare for his analyst job to the same extent he did for football. It was embarrassing as a Bills fan. Never had much of a chance to hear Kelso, but I thought what I heard of him was OK. Hopefully Wood will excel.

RIP Sue. Cablelady and Sue. Classic pic!

Any chance this could be parf of the confusion? https://thepewterplank.com/2019/04/29/tampa-bay-buccaneers-get-know-defensive-undrafted-free-agents/7/

If you are referring to Anthony Johnson, he was signed as a UDFA by Tampa Bay.
-
Wow, that Lance Zierlein ONLY listed weaknesses for a player with no strengths? Hard to believe anyone worth paying attention to would list only the weaknesses of a player and ignore any strengths. IMO, of course. ?

While I think it's a legitimate question to ask, why would anyone choose to believe that's what he intentionally did to get out of it? Of all the various possibilities, what in this instance makes you jump to one of the most negative options? I'm actually curious if there is something in Andre's past that suggests this, or are you just naturally suspicious and think the worst---or something else completely. For the record, my typical default conclusions (without information to the contrary) are A: Complete disregard of others, rather than actually meaning to hurt others. I'm not sure which is worse, but that's what I typically find. And B: Incompetence over evil intent. Seems to me after investigation I typically find a large percentage of things that can easily be perceived as intentionally negative/hurtful acts end up being mostly the result of stupid, careless incompetence.

I read, right before the draft started, Reed had given his slot to announce the pick to Pancho Billa. https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2019/04/2019-nfl-draft-stevie-johnson-offers-draft-spot-to-buffalo-bills-superfan-pancho-billa.html But he was clearly not able to attend. Perhaps Andre had made other plans in the interim. Just guessing. But what a great draft.
