  1. You do realize, in a team sport like football, there are many contributions that aren't reflected in the stats. A guy can by 15 yards away from a tackle and be very influential on the play. He isn't a returner or gunner. But he contributes quite a bit. Same with offense. Josh throws a TD. RB runs for 20 yards. Maybe neither happens if DiMarco doesn't do his job.
  2. So if a team REALLY sees potential, they can sign him. Keep him inactive for week one, then put him on the PS. I highly doubt that happens, but interesting nonetheless.
  3. Creeping me out, Doc. OK, let's assume I'm correct. So a team signs Wade and then, in week 2 or 3, sends him to their PS. I thought I read they couldn't do that, or at least the Bills could get him back. Maybe that was back when folks were just speculating. BTW, I want to make this clear, I don't expect him to land on the 53 of the Bills (or any team) THIS year.
  4. You are correct. While I'm not a giant DeMarco fan, he offers so much more to the team than simply the FB designation. Beane made that clear. If/when they have to cut someone who means more (total package) he will be gone.
  5. I get that. But the Bills have to cut him first, before putting him on the 53. So, let's just say another team claims him then (before the PS start). It is my understanding he must be put on that teams' 53 in order to steal him from the Bills (who can then use the exemption). Is that not correct?
  6. But the team who claims him, MUST put him on the 53 roster, as I understand it. Or is it, if they put him on their PS they simply don't use the exemption. I actually should know this by now. My other question is, can they move him to their PS in a couple weeks with the Bills having no opportunity to get him back?
  7. I really hope he doesn't make it at McKenzie's expense. That guy delivers on ST, too.
  8. Any punter named Colquitt is OK by me. There are many on this board whose fandom I question. With many others I just question their intelligence. Not a bad plan, but can you trade an aging K with that salary? I suspect the McBeane team is doing things the way most successful GMs operate: Try to win now, without selling out the future. Grow, get better this year, but still keep your eye on the future. And have the resources available to make the necessary moves.
  9. Completely agree. I thought Pitts played his way onto the roster, this preseason.
  10. Out ofcuriosityy, what's with the Sills V love around here? Follow him from college? Relative or friend? I just can't figure it out. Guy has shown nothing so far. Beat me by seconds.
  11. Ooommmm
  12. For sure. The last two hurricanes I went to a chef friend's house for a few days. We ate and drank like kings. A small group of us, each bringing some of our best stuff (food, wine, booze, weed, etc). If there's going to be stuff lost or damaged, might as well get to enjoy the best stuff. I vote for one a year.
  13. Did I forget to mention I was in Mound City recently?
  14. "Seaquake by morning, says QUAKE-TV" So let's start the weekend with a little Blues for Dorian
  15. I apologize. I completely misjudged what was in you, cup.
  16. I really enjoyed Beane's interview as well. Don't get me wrong, I understand liking a guy and the guy being good at the job, are two different things. Take Rex for example I don't like that type of guy, but I understand many do. Too many overlooked he couldn't coach simply because he was entertaining. And I understand Beane's dishing his own agenda and we shouldn't bet on anything we think he said. But (here it comes) with that said, I like the way he comes across. So far, so good. Glad he seems like such a class act.
  17. An ex girlfriend's father used to make it from scratch. I don't think I ever had to try it---at least I have no recollection. But to get into her parents' good graces I would have done most anything. So it's possible. Maybe I just blocked it out. How ya doin' NG?
  18. That's a pretty sweet idea. Never thought of it. I haven't taken any water in the past two hits, so I think I'm OK. But good to know in a pinch. My trick (since this is what is important to me) is to freeze various sizes of water containers. Gallons, quarts, fat containers, slim containers. Then I can use then in my various coolers. I can put a smaller cooler in the freezer and one in the fridge. I have ice containers in the coolers, and in the freezer and fridge, too. So I can go a couple days and keep everything in good shape. And I only have cheap coolers. If I was really worried I'd have to go buy one of those expensive bad boys.
  19. I'm a firm believer in these little truisms: Worry only takes in never gives. Worry is interest paid on a loan that has yet to come due. What, me worry? Stuff like that. Plus, why trouble myself with worry about things completely out of my control? But I understand realistic concern. And I've taken the opportunity to double check my supplies, just in case. Realized I needed a couple new flashlights.
  20. If he's a FA, he might get claimed before the Pats* have a chance.
  21. My first reaction was WOW, they get a 6th for Bodine? My second reaction was, they traded a CENTER to NE, are they crazy? What players should know the offense better than the QB and center? But I think Kelly and the others are probably right. It's basically the Pats* offense. Still, there are a few downsides to this, but there are to most every trade.
  22. Beat me to it. I learned my lesson (again) last night.
