Final Vote—All States, Progress in counting
ALF replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Now that Biden has likely won , he needs at least 50 D in the Senate . As a Independent I would never rub it in to R just come together as a Country. -
Should be perfect weather , a win would be off the charts perfect to cheer up a sad year.

Pollster who called 2016 for Trump says he'll win again In 2016, Robert Cahaly of The Trafalgar Group used unorthodox polling to correctly predict five swing states and Donald Trump's electoral college tally. Rebuffing skeptics, he says undercounted voters will again elect Trump.Source: CNN https://www.cnn.com/videos/tv/2020/10/31/the-outlier-pollster-who-called-2016-for-trump-says-hell-win-again.cnn -

Brian Williams showed a covid map of US and Canada. Canadians must feel like they are living in a upper apartment over a meth lab. No wonder their border is still closed.

According to the US Census Household Pulse Survey, by the end of October, 9.9 million Americans were not up-to-date on their rent or mortgage payments and had little to no confidence that their household could pay next month's rent or mortgage on time. https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/30/us/housing-insecurity-rent-relief-help-iyw-trnd/index.html

Nationwide, the U.S. state budget shortfall from 2020 through 2022 could amount to about $434 billion, according to data from Moody’s Analytics, the economic analysis arm of Moody’s Corp. The estimates assume no additional fiscal stimulus from Washington, further coronavirus-fueled restrictions on business and travel, and extra costs for Medicaid amid high unemployment. https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/us-states-face-biggest-cash-crisis-since-the-great-depression

Fiscal Year 2020 in Review ( ending Sept 30 2020 ) The federal government ran a deficit of $3.1 trillion in fiscal year 2020, more than triple the deficit for fiscal year 2019. This year’s deficit amounted to 15.2% of GDP, the greatest deficit as a share of the economy since 1945. FY2020 was the fifth year in a row that the deficit as a share of the economy grew. Revenues in FY2020 fell 1% from last year, while outlays surged 47%. https://bipartisanpolicy.org/report/deficit-tracker/#:~:text=The federal government ran a,of the economy since 1945. Not much borrowing room left for a Green New Deal . States and local gov hurting just as bad. I feel sorry for whoever is elected to WH next.

Trump refuses to be the President for everyone just his base , not good. -
I've disagreed with another poster on whose fault it was to go to simple majority to confirm a SC Justice. The Senate rules used to allow unlimited debate (a practice known as filibustering) and to end the debate, it required the votes of 3/5 of the Senate or 60 senators (known as the cloture vote). In April 2017, the Senate changed this rule and lowered the required votes to 51 to end debate on Supreme Court nominations (this is commonly known as "the nuclear option"). When the debate ends, the Senate votes on the nomination. A simple majority of the Senators present and voting is required for the judicial nominee to be confirmed. If there is a tie, the Vice President who also presides over the Senate casts the deciding vote. https://guides.ll.georgetown.edu/c.php?g=365722&p=2471070 Mitch McConnell was Senate Majority Leader when nuclear option for SC confirmation was passed in 2017 at the behest of Trump. Without needing a bipartisan 60 votes to confirm a SC nominee , 51 vote majority can confirm the SC court nominee, will be 3 judges in Trump's first term In November 2013, Senate Democrats led by Harry Reid used the nuclear option to eliminate the 60-vote rule on executive branch nominations and federal judicial appointments, but not for the Supreme Court. Convince me the nuclear option for SC confirmation was the fault of Harry Reid. If the democrats take the WH and Senate this election it is very likely they will increase the SC to 11 or 13. I blame McConnell and Trump if that happens.

Cowboys fan shoots TV after loss to Cardinals 🙂 A video posted by Daniel Cisneros on Facebook shows a fan in a Dak Prescott jersey breaking a TV with what appears to be a beer can, punching it multiple times, then pulling out a pistol and firing several rounds into it. It's not just the fans who were upset, as players also sounded off on the coaching staff. Anonymous Cowboys told NFL network that the coaches are "totally unprepared" and "just aren't good at their jobs." https://www.foxnews.com/sports/cowboys-fan-shoots-tv-after-loss-to-cardinals -

The Bills went up against two playoff caliber teams , not ending well again, the weaknesses are now evident. When it's time for the real playoffs they need injured players back healthy .

Gregg Williams still makes me nervous.

US says nearly 300,000 excess deaths in 2020 as COVID-19 rages CDC analysis shows excess deaths were highest among Hispanic and Black people, and those aged between 25 and 44.
