A lot of positions to fill and stay within cap. Hoping Zay Jones can be a lot better when healthy.

Bucky Brooks: Eleven Teams That Need to Draft a QB
ALF replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pat Shurmur is the real QB whisperer for Keenum and Foles (2013) , Giants will up there game now. Shurmur’s unique ability to develop young talent at the quarterback position was once again on display in 2013. Second-year QB Nick Foles enjoyed a breakout season under the direction of Shurmur, throwing for 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions while posting the third-best QB rating (119.2) and third-lowest interception percentage (0.63%) in NFL history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Shurmur -
I would not trade up , too many teams need a QB this year. I would gamble with the best QB there at 21. Lets see what FA they bring in or trade for Alex Smith if the price is right. I would think other teams will bid up his draft price thou. Just too many positions to address this year.

Bradford will be the Available Viking QB
ALF replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would think Vikings stick with Bradford if he is fully recovered. I'm still not sold on Keenum. jmo -
I'm not impressed with those 3 QBs , that was a lot of luck and team wins. I was astounded at some of the throws Big Ben made , oh if the Bills could have drafted him.
-
Would have meant no Rex disaster , no EJ or Taylor, Schwartz still here , maybe draft a good QB , oh my. Hackett is doing good also , the energizer bunny guy.

10 members had it right , congrats to them

I think they go for Alex Smith if the draft pick is reasonable. Jags might also out bid on him .

QB Draft Stats: probability of finding That Guy
ALF replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was shocked when the Bills did not draft Mahomes or Watson without having to trade up. Tre White is a great player if they can land a good QB without trading up. -

Wonder if Brady will do this again https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2017/12/31/16835940/tom-brady-scuba-suit-patriots-nfl -
I would be ok with Alex Smith as a bridge , how high a draft pick KC would want is the ?

I think I found a explanation One of the options available to them is the use of the post-June 1 designation, where players are cut in March, but will be treated as if they were cut after June 1, which helps with dead money. To try to help with that issue, the NFL and the NFL Players Association collectively bargained two June 1 designations. Twice during the offseason, a team can release a player designated as a post-June 1 cut, which gives the team the savings the two-year dead money assistance, while allowing the player to hit free agency in March. But, that's where the post-June 1 designation offers a false promise. It does save a team money - just not when they would want it. The player is still carried on the books until June 2. In other words, there is no savings for the team during free agency. They do not see salary cap relief until they pass the June 1 mark. https://www.thephinsider.com/2015/2/18/8057333/nfl-free-agency-201-post-june-cuts-explanation

Chud or Bevell would be a good choice.

Bills miss out on London games for '18-'19 season
ALF replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The air travel between London and Seattle is 4,799 miles. If you travel with an airplane (which has average speed of 560 miles) from London to Seattle, It takes 8.57 hours to arrive. The flight distance from Los Angeles International Airport to Heathrow Airport is 5456 miles -
On December 31, 2017, Smith announced that he was taking a leave of absence to be with his wife, who has breast cancer. On January 1, 2018, it was also reported that he would be gone for a year and that the Texans will hire a new general manager to take his place. However, Smith will retain his position as the team's Executive Vice President of Football Operations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Smith_(American_football_executive) If he is that good maybe a pay raise would keep him here.

2018 Veteran QBs - the Mega Poll
ALF replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It looks like McCarron is a RFA that changes things . We could ask our best friend Andy how good is AJ . If he has a 2nd rd tender I don't think so. -
Peterman not ready yet against Charger pass rush and the fierce Jags D . He has a quick release better suited for WCO. I still like his potential . jmo

2018 Veteran QBs - the Mega Poll
ALF replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll go with AJ McCarron , draft the best QB without trading up and still have hope Peterman can make progress. Out of those 3 at the very least end up with a solid backup. Kirk would eat up too much needed cap space . -
Will wait and see if they sign a FA QB . So many holes need to be filled this draft would not want to trade up. If a decent QB is not there when Bill's draft then trade up in 2019, if need be. Dak Prescott and Kirk Cousins were 4th rd picks. Need a lot of luck and better scouting. The RG3 trade up spooked me.

Bills vs. Jaguars Wild Card Postgame

Strange after this game I don't think I will watch another game this season. NFL and Sabres I will take a break -
Welcome to Sacksonville, Home of the NFL's New Nasty Boys It's a place where you find "11 savages, 11 dogs hunting every Sunday," the defensive end says. It's a place where a quarterback sometimes is given a choice: your body or your football. And sometimes, there is no choice; he must surrender both. It's a place where the residents can dominate verbally or physically. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2750669-welcome-to-sacksonville-home-of-the-nfls-new-nasty-boys?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial The good news is that they are on a 2 game losing streak

NFL Total Access: Kelvin Benjamin on matchup with Jalen Ramsey
ALF replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey antagonizes receivers regularly, and he got under the skin of the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green to the point that a fight broke out with punches thrown by Green. Both players were ejected from the game. https://www.sbnation.com/2017/11/5/16609804/aj-green-jalen-ramsey-bengals-jaguars-fight Bills players have to ignore the trash talk from Ramsey -
"Few people remember that it was [Frank] Robinson who first said, "Close don't count in baseball. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades." The quote appeared in Time magazine (July 31, 1973)." There are some variations usually with the baseball part left out. I was wondering where that phrase came from, now I know the rest of the story , good day.
