Global warming err Climate change HOAX
ALF replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
In Russian President Vladimir Putin's annual press conference last week, a journalist asked about what risks climate change poses to the country. Putin acknowledged rising global temperatures, but cast doubt on the human role in climate change. "We know that in the history of the Earth there have been periods of warming and cooling, and this might depend on the global processes in the universe," he said. "A small tilt of the Earth's axis and its orbit around the sun can lead to and have already led to very serious climate changes on the Earth, which had dramatic consequences -- good or bad, they were still dramatic." "And it is happening again now. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to work out exactly how humankind affects climate change. But we cannot stay idle either, I agree with my colleagues. We should make our best efforts to prevent dramatic changes in the climate," he added. https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/25/europe/moscow-december-warm-weather-intl/index.html Interesting take ( I have no idea if accurate) -

Living in her car, she was afraid and harassed. Then she found an unexpected refuge As an Uber driver, Lauren Kush tries to keep her Toyota Prius spotless. But keeping it tidy serves a dual purpose. The 36-year-old woman is homeless and has been sleeping in her car at night, converting the back seat into a bed. Kush started sleeping in her car when she could no longer afford an apartment in Los Angeles, where median rent for a one-bedroom is $2,350 per month. She's now among more than 16,000 people in LA County who live in their vehicles -- about a quarter of the nearly 60,000 homeless people here. https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/23/us/homeless-living-in-vehicles-los-angeles/index.html But the economy is so great and don't look at the budget deficit

Documents show US leaders misled public on progress in Afghanistan War: report Senior U.S. officials knowingly lied to the public about their progress throughout the 18-year war in Afghanistan, consistently painting a rosier picture of the state of the war than they knew to be true, according to a cache of documents obtained by the Washington Post. “After the killing of Osama bin Laden, I said that Osama was probably laughing in his watery grave considering how much we have spent on Afghanistan,” retired Navy SEAL Jeffrey Eggers, a White House staffer in the Bush and Obama administrations, said in a private interview. https://thehill.com/policy/defense/473635-documents-show-us-leaders-misled-public-on-progress-in-afghanistan-war-report Going into Viet Nam , Iraq and Libya also massive mistakes. Afghanistan should have been no more then a one year operation at most.

If you could swap QBs with any team right now

In hindsight what impresses me about Marrone was he knew right away EJ was not a NFL starter. That was a big disagreement between him and Whaley. -
The Umps will always be behind the plate to correct any mistakes . The computer makes his job a lot easier and less stress. The high speed of today's pitches it's easy for a good ump to make a mistake.

Spotrac has his market value at $17.1M a year. I would rather draft a DE and go after offense free agents and have money to re-sign good players here. -
Computer plate umpires could be called up to the major leagues at some point during the next five seasons. Umpires agreed to cooperate with Major League Baseball in the development and testing of an automated ball-strike system as part of a five-year labor contract announced Saturday, two people familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/computer-plate-umps-allowed-in-new-labor-deal The sooner the better

Clayton Beathard was the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers player C.J. Beathard, a statement from the team released on Twitter said. Their grandfather is Pro Football Hall of Famer Bobby Beathard, a former longtime NFL executive. Beathard, 22, and Paul Trapeni III, 21, were stabbed and killed during a fight early Saturday morning outside of a Midtown bar, according to Nashville police. https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/21/us/tennessee-fatal-stabbing-nfl-player-brother/index.html

Spain at LG is also rated below average like Ford by PFF . They need a blocking TE just about every play till Ford develops more at RT. Lee Smith should be there if he can stop holding. Getting OL men from college take time to develop.

The Bills are still a work in progress , one more good draft and free agency should make the difference.
