Anyone concerned about the wr talent?
djp14150 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They need a speed target. This player doesn't have to be a #1 receiver. Bejamin and Jones are perfectly fine for a 3WR set. They also have Clay at TE. -
Here is a problem to those arguments.... 1. What about past years ? Is that how he processed plays in prior years??? 2. Was there a knife on his throat if he threw picks by taking vhsnces??? 3. He had woids, sammy and others he used to throw to. In game 3 he has only Clay snd McCoy from paSt seasons that he threw yo abd had built up some knowledge of there reads and timing. 4. Defense knew they lost the receivers and with no deep threat they could cheat with 9 in the box playing the run, qb runs, and short passing. I could accept an argument of starting a rookie qb because they were playing against the firmer coach/of who knew tyrod. If they want to give him a trial...start with werk 13.

First coach fired is going to be......
djp14150 replied to BmarvB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disaree with Tamoa Bay. They have had a bunch of close loses an with a young team confidence is shot and the team tanks. Unsure what the contract terms are with the Colts coach has. If the contract ends after ths year then its not renewed but I dont think he would get fired because he didnt have Luck this year. -
[Misleading Title]Watkins won’t resign in LA
djp14150 replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IT would be intersting if he was to resign with Buffalo. With them doing the Carolina trade they dont have the cap space to even sign him. -
O'Leary Fumble: Time to go to the College Rule?
djp14150 replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They should have a rule in place about a receiver conceding they are down that would not be considered a fumble. If the play is on the ground and they put down the ball on the ground they are down. were they hit and knees down and the ball cvame out this would not be a fumble. If you had 3 defenders standing around you they could be standing waiting for you to get up so they can mug you. -
Benjamin or Woods for 8 million.
djp14150 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Benjamin had his 5th yr picked up by Carolina so he isn't someone to sign this offseason. People who say Benjamin is a true #1 are delusional..... true #1s are decent size of over 5 feeet tall and has speed Benjamin is bigger but is not that fast. because he is taller he can compete for long passes and outjump the CB deep threats are people you focus 2 people on because they can beat the one person with their speed. he is better than woods because of his height. -

There are probably many on this board to young to remember this trade snd how it went fown. There was piece done by SI on it that exam ed the deal and what happened behind the scenes. The deal was Dickerson to the Colts. Biscuit to us, and a bunch of picks and a couple players to the Rams (also in LA then) -
WR next year isn't as deep. Benjamin is under contract next year with 5th yr option picked up. Jones under contract. Jordan Mathews is a UFA in the offseason. I assume they would try to resign him. They still have 2 1st, 2 2nd, and a 3rd. Likely use those 5 picks on OL, DL, LB, DB, and QB not necessarily in that order.

Make the cuts to get the comp pick
djp14150 replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
6-2 is size compared to most CBS and he has speed. The ideal combo or receiver is having watkins snd benjamin on the same team. I could ser Holmes being cut and demarcation being cut but who would be 3rd??? They can cut players prior to I think it's week 10 then resign them and then get the comp pick. -
Buffalo trades watkins and daRby abd 6th for Benjamin, Matthews, a 2nd, and Gaines

Make the cuts to get the comp pick
djp14150 replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on my understanding buffalo has to cut 3 free agents they signed yo get a 3rd round comp pick. The formula need to be adjusted to factor in where the player was drafted and how much they signed for. As for this trade it's now basically a 3rd and watkins for a 2nd, benjamin, and Gaines. Just remember Benjamin is a receiver with size, but not speed. WatKINS had both. -
Zeke Elliott suspended for 6 games. For real this time!

Patriots trade Jimmy Garoppolo to SF
djp14150 replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Brady can play 3-4 yrs means Patriots will be using that pick around 33-36 and use it plus other picks/players to trade up to the 30s abd take a QB -
Can DBs have great coverage and still get burned?
djp14150 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In CB coverage there is always some balk l9cation they can't defend without causing a PI. They are not burnt here. -
Not scoring on s turnover is a piss poor measure. You need to factor in where it occured and points that might have scored against the team. Mistake was made at the end of the half snd not attempting a FG.

Bills tried to move Dareus before the season. Open to it
djp14150 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dareus likely is not traded. He might be traded in the offseason but it might be high cap hit flr high cap hit, if not he is a June 1 buy out. As for Glenn, he would have to be for a very good offer. He isn't a dump. Probably an entry contract player into next year and a 2nd. They could do something similar to the wTkins/Darby trade but instead they trade Glenn for a player and a pick and then trade a 3rd for an OL replacing him. -
Bring a 3-4 DE in a 4-3 system isn't an issue as being a 3-4 ILB in a 4-3 system.

Why are NFL rosters kept so small?
djp14150 replied to Samwell Tarly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's about teams stockpiling long term prospects. It will create long term imbalance if teams payers may want to play fir can sign and keep players on a roster. Thus is why they have a practice squad so teams can develop players but they can't be protected from another team. It's the same reason why IR rules were changed that say a player is done for the season. Teams would stock project players on the IR until injuries occured then activate them or they will keep them on the IR to develop them. -
This was a weird week..... 1. bears block a FG and leon lett it to the 1 and are fortunate to get the ball back and get a FG out of it. In OT RB thought to have run 73 yared for a TD bt found to step out, later they get OT TD for win. 2. Patriots come back to get a TD for the win. 3. Detroit is down to 1 with a 1st and goal, missed 2 tries, then on 3rd down they try to get a TD and think so but rules down befofe breaking the plane with 8 seconds left. By rule a 10 seconf=d run off ends the game. 4. Giants seem to wake up in the 4th quarter to go ahead 21-14 with 21 unanswered. Eagles tie it and then make a long FG to win it on the last play of the game. 5. Browns wer down by 21 late in the 3rd 28-7 come back but fall short 31-28 and they got the ball back to tie at the end of the game. BTW----Buffalo is in first place.....
