So the players out there can cover against 6'5" lazard except in hail mary scenario? eh agree to disagree. Im not going to rake McDermott over the coals for this and I dont think he was "surprised" either.
-
Eh, agree to disagree. I count 4 Bills Players guarding 2 Jets WRs in the endzone here. 5 on 3 if you count the Bills/Jets player on the left. There is zero reason the players shouldnt execute here and bat the ball down (edit: specifically the player in front, I think that's Johnson. What is he doing?). This was perfectly fine defense.
-
I think you underestimate how much McDermott elevates the defense. There is a reason why despite so many injuries, the next man up is prepared and capable. It has a lot to do with talent evaluation but also to do with the coaching putting players in positions to succeed. At the end of the day I dont blame McDermott for Bass missing the tying field goal against the chiefs, I don't blame McDermott for Allen missing the open throw for a 1st down and clock burning against the Chiefs. I dont even blame McDermott for the hail murray Cardinals game, the hail mary in the Jets game this year. Each of those situations which you consider fire worthy for McDermott the players were in the position to succeed and they didn't execute. There is one situation that bothers me about McDermott and that is whether or not there was a communication failure on kickoff in 13 seconds, and why they didn't have someone there to tackle Kelce as soon as he caught the ball to put them in FG range.

But it could get worse. There are many examples of teams making terrible coaching swaps. The chiefs just so happen to have Andy Reid as HC.

Josh’s TD run was MVP awesome, before Josh was robbed again.

I think the ball was ahead of the marker even when the shin went down. However the holding calls were absurd. Its always terrible when the broadcasters are claiming there were clear holds and go back to replay and its like crickets with them trying to identify where. -
I just read through like 8 pages of this thread where you were trying to school people, its pretty convenient that now at this particular moment, you don't want to derail it. On another note, Diggs wasn't slow but he also got caught from behind on his long passes as well. Maybe it was just me, but I often wondered why we didn't see footrace td passes with him like we do with other top wrs.

KC vs. Buffalo's record a microcosm of the Allen/Mahomes debate
What a Tuel replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Chiefs had a bye week. Add in the Raiders next week which is basically a guaranteed win at this point and its basically even. So your argument doesn't really hold up. The arguments that "we haven't beat anyone with a winning record" is going to resurface again which is such a silly argument. You play who your schedule says you play. Bills 2-4 Cardinals 2-4 Dolphins 2-5 Jaguars 4-2 Ravens 5-2 Texans 2-5 Jets 1-5 Titans 18-27 Chiefs 4-2 Ravens 3-4 Bengals 4-3 Falcons 3-2 Chargers 2-5 Saints 3-4 49ers (without Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk) 19-20 2-6 Raiders 21-26 -
Ha, my bad 35-35 XPA, eyeballed the wrong line. He hit the game winner though so maybe right call for the Packers? Bass meanwhile went 100% yesterday so maybe the competition did him good.
-
So the Packers got rid of their kicker and are apparently signing Brandon McManus if that gives you any indication of the quality of free agent kickers. Brandon McManus was 30-37 (81.1%) FGA and 312/321 (97.2%) XPA in 2023. Their former kicker was Brayden Narveson who was 12-17 (70.5%) FGA and 16-16 (100%) XPA

Will/can we make a move for a WR1 before the trade dealine?
What a Tuel replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think they will. -
Also the "uncatchable" ball that was "6 yards out of bounds" on the PI call for us. Like no, that ball was not 6 yards out of bounds if it hit the boundary Joe. On topic, it was clearly a fumble, I don't see how people are so adamant that his arm was going forward? He would've released it at the point of the extension if he actually planned to throw it, instead he pulled it back and held on. Clear fumble. Also didn't like our OPI call on Knox I think it was. Kelce does that every damn play and it infuriates me bc he never gets called.

It isnt, statistically that year he was basically the same in FG % and better in XP % than Butker which was the assertion. Now you shift to "overall" post season stats that includes his rookie season. Postseason Stats: 2020 - 7-9 FG (77%) 5-6 XP (83%) (Rookie) 2021 - 0-0 FG (NA) 9-11 XP (81%) 2022 - 3-3 FG (100%) 5-5 XP (100%) 2023 - 2-5 FG* (40%) 7-7 XP (100%) *Blocked FG Yeah he had a rough time last postseason and missed 2 field goals and 1 blocked. I dont think anyone disagrees that he needs to do better. But then the year before that he was 100% in both FG and XP in the post season. So clearly he can do it. Lets just be happy about Cooper and lay off Bass.
-
Eh we can go back and forth on his stats. I didnt say he was better than butker overall. I said that he was statistically as likely as butker that year to make that kick in 13 seconds.
-
Thats my problem. Like when does it become the players fault for not executing? I think it was johnson who fell down in front of Lazard leaving him wide open to catch the ball (with our guys on his back). Track the ball and knock it down ffs.
-
His percentage on FGs that year was 87.5% (28/32) and 100% for XPAs (51/51) and 2 of his 4 missed FGs that season were in the colts game where nothing was going right and we got annihilated 41-15. Butker that season was 89.3% (25/28) and 95.9% for XPAs (47-49). So in reality yeah going by stats, he probably would have made it that season too if Butker did. The constant berating him is probably not helping his confidence and we arent changing kickers so hold him accountable but maybe try building him up.
-
I didnt say it was good, but he can make kicks. You guys act like theres a 5% chance he will make a kick. As compared to the other top kickers, sure he is less accurate, but we are talking 1-2 kicks over 6 games. The amount of angst the fans have over this is crazy.
-
Seems to me he's made 9/12 FGs and 18/20 XPA - counting blocks/tips. So he can in fact make a kick.
-
Three game difference (Broncos and Steelers and Vikings) vs our (Chiefs, Ravens, Lions). They already lost two of them. To be fair im sure everyone has us penciled in to lose Chiefs and Lions and we already lost to the Ravens, but thats why we play the games, we will see.
-
2-4 but they are going to go and "probably" win 9 of next 10 or at worst 8 of next 10 😂 Meanwhile similar people are like, "I can't see the 4-2 Bills winning 6 more" 🙄
-
In reality is it possible that something went down with Allen's ex? Obviously just throwing crap at the wall but my goodness would it make so much sense. The abrupt breakup, the bengals game where they had no light in their eyes, the awkwardness between Diggs and Allen.
-
Im no cap expert but i dont think thats true. Pretty sure he had no requirement to turn salary into incentive based compensation. Yes the 7MM was converted but the 8MM was a pay cut he didnt need to take (unless he hits his incentives) Mar 06, 2024Converted $7M of 2024 salary into signing bonus & $8.645M more into incentives, freeing $8.645M of cap with Buffalo (BUF) Edit: NM I see you were talking about 2023 now.

it took one. one loss. One loss for people to jump on the "trash everything, McDermotts the problem" nonsense again lmao.

Smoot really pissed me off last night. cost us a 15 yard penalty on one play unnecessarily kneeing a guy in the face. Then on the very next play, it looks like he was trying to twist Lamar's ankle. We would be calling him dirty if that was a Raven.
