Josh Allen - Most Elusive QB in the NFL
BisonMan replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was thinking this myself as I read this thread. I wonder if they count face-palming a defender into the carpet as "evading" the defender. See angry run Week #2 vs. the Phish (starts at 4:10 mark or so): -
Flacco's bomb attempt with a wide open guy underneath was definitely a numbskull move. A few first downs and they would have forced Cam to throw a lot of balls downfield...where bad things happen to him. To misquote your moniker, Flacco was thinking, "All of these interceptions will be lost...like tears in the rain...Time to die".

This guy writes about the Pats the way some Bills' writers did circa 2015! Seriously, BB is just screwing with the league at this point. He plans to have the Pats lose 8 more games this season but "keep it close" in each one if possible. He's just angling for the next hot QB prospect because, as Bills' fans have seen, you rarely get a QB of high quality outside the top 10 in the draft (or usually the top 3). BB knows his career is coming to an end and he won't win another Super Bowl without a top flight QB. Free agent QBs have seen how he doesn't give QB's any help and will shy away from NE. It starts with losing to the Jets tonight. A guy who will engaging in repeated spying of teams' practices and other misdeeds is not above "tanking" for one of the top 2 QBs in the 2021 draft. I can hear the mumbling during the press availability, "They're a well coached team and we have to avoid the mistakes. We don't have the depth we've had in recent years...mumble...mumble...mumble..."

Win % vs. Playoff Teams - This Year
BisonMan replied to Captain Caveman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looking at the remaining games, I only see two games that will be real tests for us down the stretch. This week's game vs. the Cardinals could be a tough one but it's hard to tell what Cardinal's team will show up. They've lost to Detroit, Carolina and Miami this year and won a squeaker at home against Seattle. I like our odds now that it appears Josh's shoulder is finally healthy. Pittsburgh is the one expected loss I see left on our schedule. Miami could be tough by Week 17 but we're at home. We'll see how Mr. Hawaii plays in the snow in December. Bills finish 13-3! (fingers crossed) -
What were you doing in 1993?
BisonMan replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember November 1993 well. I was 30, living in Atlanta and busy running my business and travelling the world. That month, I met a girl in the Atlanta Airport on a Friday night return. We married 3 years later. 27 years later, we have 3 kids and the Bills haven't won a playoff game since. I don't blame her...much. -
As I understand the new rule, it requires two feet down in bounds (✔️) and a "football move" (❌). He clearly had two feet down with the ball but, I don't count falling on your a$$ as a "football move". Maybe that 3rd step he took as he was falling backward (and having the ball stripped away) was construed as a "football move" by the replay monkey. If the ref whistled after the ball came loose but before the recovery, then the Ravens get the ball. This is the case in all such situations as you can't just give the ball to the opposing team on an inadvertent whistle (or a blown INT call). This is why refs are generally told that on a questionable loose ball (reception? late fumble? backward pass? strip sack forward fumble) they should eat the whistle. That probably wouldn't make any difference here as the Ravens looked to be in the best position to get that ball (and maybe return it!)

Oddly, the last two games reminded me of the days when our punter (Moorman) was the best player on the field for the Bills. Everyone wanted Bojo's head at the start of the season but he's had a very good year so far, including a few kicks that completely flipped the field position in games. His stat line through 6 weeks is very good. He's 3rd in average punt distance and 6th in net punting yards. He's only had 2 touchbacks in 16 kicks so far this year. Against KC, all 4 of his punts ended up inside the 20 with a 53.2 yard average and less that 1/2 yard average return. A shining spot across the last two games when the rest of the squad didn't look very good. My 2 cents.

Gameday Thread Week 4.5 Bills @ Titans 1st Half
BisonMan replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Playing so poorly in so many areas of the game definitely indicates that this team was ill-prepared. I lay this one almost entirely on the coaching staff. Well coached teams don’t make this many errors in all three phases of the game. -
Han shot first!

FiveThirtyEight - Josh Allen Article
BisonMan replied to Che Guevara's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess Lamar Jackson has a 0.0 completion percentage by this logic as the Ravens almost never throw without play action or keep him in the pocket. So, Lamar sucks too? I love 538’s election models but this article has a lot of issues because it expects teams to always play to a Tom Brady style offense, which won’t always maximize the strengths of their QBs. -
Not only can he chuck it...he can truck it! Somebody post the video of this segment when available. Pretty funny.

Marv on Buffalo weather - "When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us!" One of my personal favorites came from tennis broadcaster Bud Collins. While calling a McEnroe match in the 80's, "Lendl hit's a sharp angled forehand across to McEnroe's backhand side, which he returns with an even sharper angle to win the point. It's pythagorean!" -
Cowherds top 10 AFC qb’s. Allen at #5.

I am skeptical about Jackson's success moving forward. I absolutely love what Roman has done to maximize the talent on that team's offense. I think Jackson is a great fit for that scheme and, I agree, he's better that Kap or TT. He runs better than either of them and he throws with more anticipation. I'm a Georgia Tech alumni and had an uncle live with me who was a Naval Academy grad. Suffice it to say, we saw a ton of triple option, run-heavy, misdirection, RPO plays to last a lifetime. These types of offenses completely confound teams that haven't played against them much and Baltimore's team last year was the epitome of this. Team's were completely lost in gap coverage and receiver coverage throughout most of the season. However, over the course of time, team's like this get "figured out" by teams with time to prepare. It's one of the main reasons GA Tech and Navy lost so many bowl games. Teams had a couple of weeks to watch tape and get ready without having to face anyone else. That will start happening in the NFL this year to the Ravens. We saw this start to change beginning with the SF and Bills' games. Disciplined defenses were able to hold them down and limit Jackson's effectiveness by making him throw outside the numbers, where he was particularly poor. Tennessee put down the hammer. If Jackson can improve his skill-set from the pocket, he will continue to excel. If he can't, he becomes a really good Tyrod Taylor and will continue to win games provided his team has an awesome defense. Anybody who scored 25 points against the Ravens last year beat them. John Brown runs a better route and catches that TD late, the Bills take that one to overtime with 24 points. -

I think the league should treat COVID-19 like a special type of injury across the league. The league should assume a certain percentage of each team will contract the virus and be out 4-6 weeks. Having an expanded roster along with a special COVID IR designation for the 2020 season could help to keep the league OPEN throughout the season. As long as a player is testing positive, they can be on COVID IR and be reactivated 7-10 days after testing negative and without a fever. The expanded roster could include 10-15 players that can only be activated to replace a positively tested player on COVID IR. This would be sort of like the practice squad but the players on the COVID Squad could not be poached by another team. Thoughts?

Make it 4...or 5...or 6. This is a nonsense argument for using an avatar that makes it appear you support what happened in Minneapolis. The very fact that you use it makes people recoil and have no desire to "get to know" you. Imagine I use a Confederate Flag as my avatar and expect people to know that it actually means I'm against racism. "Read my posts, I'm the opposite of a racist!" Too late, they've moved on from my moronic presentation of myself. Maybe I'll move on to an image of people in a German concentration camp in the hopes that people somehow understand my boomerang logic that I'm Pro-Israel and not a Nazi. No one's first thought on seeing this is to think, "Wow, he's making a statement about the dangers of police brutality". They just think you're a supporter of this moron. I'm glad you're on the side of right here but please understand that unless you splash "Murderer" across that face, no one will get you're point. P.S. Having a quote from the sadistic prison warden from Cool Hand Luke as you're tagline, further misrepresents your position on this issue...I hope.
