  1. The Donald Jones move was kinda expected, this one a little surprising. If healthy, I thought Nelson could really be a clutch receiver and a draft steal. Hopefully they have some big plans for WR, because this roster is so depleted at that position, gotta be the worst in the NFL at this point.
  2. The bottom line here, and the biggest mystery is why is Buddy Nix still the GM? Not only did he sign Fitz to this disastrous contract extension, but other then that mess, a couple cast offs that nobody wanted and a 7th round pick who had no chance of being a franchise quarterback, he has completely ignored the QB position and really screwed this team for years to come.
  3. No, I think if he gets cut it will be in the next few weeks before they have to pay him his roster bonus which is about half of what he would make this year.
  4. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000143222/article/buffalo-bills-wont-commit-to-keeping-ryan-fitzpatrick Interesting reply from Russ Brandon when asked if Fitzpatrick would be on the Bills roster in 2013-"Next Question."
  5. When someone just tells it like it is, straight ahead obvious truth, I don't consider that "trashing" at all.
  6. He was already quoted that he wanted to go to a winner, that rules Buffalo out.
  7. I totally agree. That moronic contract is done and you can't do anything about it. I say dump the nice guy but loser on the field, and move on and get started with the future. It just amazes me that Buddy Nix still has his job after being responsible for things like Fitz's contract.
  8. As long at Fitz is at QB, this team will do no better then 6 or 7 wins, and likely less than that. Can we just fast forward to the 2014 season, maybe they will be relevant then?
  9. You are welcome Rainbow Randy. If Fitz does remain on the roster at his current salary, of course he will be the starter, Ralph isn't going to pay a backup that much. If anything, Jackson is a better fit for Hackett's offense then Fitz is, so hopefully this signing is the beginning of the end for Fitz. Although, they were told it was a open competition, so unless Marone's word is as believable as Buddy Nix's has been for the past 3+ years, kinda hard to compete if you aren't here?
  10. Who cares? This team isn't going win to this year or probably another year or two after that. They are cutting players who are better at their respective positions then Fitz is at his. If they wait to replace Fitz until next year, it is just one more year before this team can even begin to be taken seriously on the offensive side of the ball.
  11. Paying a large sum to get an ugly wart removed from your forehead doesn't make economic sense either, but you do it because you will be better off in the future, very near future.
  12. I get the feeling that if Fitz is still around and doesn't restructure, in other words, plays on his current contract, it won't really be an open competition, especially if Ralph is still coherent enough to realize he isn't paying a backup that much. Resigning Jackson doesn't bother me, it is the part where it is alluded to that Fitz will still be here.
  13. This team is a joke. So we have our quarterbacks for 2013. Fitz, TJax and Aaron Corps. Wow? I guess clueless Buddy Nix wanted to try to save face for giving up a draft pick for Jackson and never having him active on game day? Looks like another dismal, losing, normal Bills season in 2013. Can it get any more depressing? If it a true "open competition" like Marone says it will be, even though he sucks, TJax would beat out Fitz. Let's hope so, because if Fitz is the better of the two, God, I don't even want to think about it.
  14. The Sanchez deal was probably worse in hindsight, but at the time, they were about equal. I think if I had to choose one of the two QBs to turn into a productive QB in a new environment under new coaches, without a doubt I would take Sanchez.
  15. Why? Because he isn't on the Bills anymore? You like many on here would still be pleasuring yourself to a life sized "Fathead" of him on your bedroom wall if he was still playing in Buffalo. Because he isn't, he is the anti-christ. Get over it.
  16. I hope you are correct, but I think he is gone. Unless the BIlls cut another 3-4 veterans that they probably don't want to, they won't have room under the cap to sign him, much less franchise tag him. Clueless Buddy Nix has already said he wants to hit free agency for a WR, TE and LB among others, so in order to have the cap room for that and signing the draft picks, plus Byrd (he WILL get tagged before Levitre does). Any hope at all of keeping Levitre hangs pretty much in cutting Kelsay and getting Fitzworthless to take a pay cut (cutting him would be too big of a hit-damn it!).
  17. How many players in that position have you ever heard say, "No way I am staying here unless they overpay me?" None? Didn't think so.
  18. Nobody in the Eagles front office would directly say "no" to the question if Michael Vick could still be traded when asked. He is much more tradeable now, with that huge contract torn up.
  19. Thigpen is ahead of Sanchez? Not by much, but same situation.
  20. I think since the free agent pool is deep at WR, deeper then any other position, and since it normally takes longer for a rookie WR to acclimate himself to the NFL, I would fill that position via FA and the others thru the draft. It would be an ugrade but a waste until we get a QB that can get the ball downfield.
  21. The word is that there are a few teams waiting to try to sign him and have no problem with the big contract and two first round picks. If the Bills gave up two first round picks, it would still be more then what they will end up getting with Buddy Nix drafting.
  22. His name is Matt Miller: Bleacher Report's NFL Draft Lead Writer, Miller is also the founder of the NFL draft site New Era Scouting. Matt's work has been featured in Madden 13, on ESPN radio, SiriusXM, NFL.com, SI.com and USA Today as well as utilized by NFL, CFL and AFL teams. Matt was the secondary and special teams coordinator for the three-time league champion Joplin Crusaders of the Central Football League. Matt is also a member of the Pro Football Writers of America. Good enough for those organizations but not good enough to be able to link to this site?
  23. Read my post, I tried to post the link, but the Marshall Dillon administrators have links to Bleacher Report blocked. Go to bleacherreport.com.
