Former WR Josh Reed Slams Buffalo
BuffBill replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Life goes on and Josh Reed can't stop it. Buffalo is an acquired taste I guess. -
Is Vince Young a wacko or just a player that needs coaching?
BuffBill replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kinda agree with you. Loaded might be a bit too strong until they prove it on the field, but they have made so many major strides. I too think the ultimate downfall of this team is going to be the QB position. We have to hope that Fitz can do in 16 games what he did in 4 or 5 last season. I think Thigpen might just be the worst backup in the NFL based on what he showed last year, and Vince Young is, well, Vince Young. I see us spending our first pick in the 2013 draft on a QB. They used to have to play at least one game for them before they went on the Wall of Fame also? -
As I said earlier, you watch this video and still say Berman sucks or what ever derogatory term you prefer, you are not a Bills fan-period!

Vince Young has all the physical tools in the world, tools Fitzpatrick can't even dream of having. His problem, as we all know is what is or isn't in his head. To answer your question, I think he is a wacko. -
No Real Bills fan would ever say Berman flat out sucks! You can be tired of his schtick or whatever you want, but for what he has done for the Bills, numerous charities, including Hunter's Hope year after year, he will always be liked in my book. Without Berman, ESPN might be gone by now, he was one of the pillars of that station and probably the most famous it has ever had. I don't think even in his prime, he carried a "serious" personality, he has always had some humor, often about himself. About 20 or so years ago, when I started mailing cards out to players to get autographed, I thought I would take a shot and mail a Chris Berman card to ESPN. Not only did the card come back quickly and signed, he typed a letter to me, thanking me for watching and that he hoped I wouldn't use the card on my dart board. The OP needs to get a life, people who let little things disturb the evolution of their life like this have issues.

I like the new unis, there are a couple things that I would have done different, but on the whole they are nice. Could it be that they even look better when you consider the disasterous uniforms they replaced?

Might as well throw Billy Joe Hobert in there too.

I don't have a problem with that, was actually choosing between Thurman and Kemp.

Who is the most indispesable player on defense ?
BuffBill replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would have to go with Kyle Williams, if only because we saw what happened last year when he wasn't 100% or injured. -
If I was considering everyone, I might consider Polian.

Losman was the captain a few years ago and didn't make it past the first few weeks of the season. I would go: Offense: -Fred Jackson -Would go Eric Wood, but since it is an unwritten rule that your QB has to be one of them I go Fitz. Defense: Wilson (he is starting so not sure how much ST he will even play to be a captain of that unit). Barnett. Special Teams: Moorman McIntyre (if he is still on the roster) if not I go Lindell.

Saw an article on another team on another website and it got me to thinking, if you had to choose 4 players in Bills history to be on their version of Mount Rushmore, who would it be? For me it would be: Jim Kelly O.J. Simpson (regardless of what has happened since, he is one of the top 2 or 3 Bills ever) Bruce Smith The 4th one was the toughest, but I will go with Thurman Thomas since he has an NFL MVP award to his credit.

Last year was the first year since they moved from Fredonia to Pittsford that I didn't drive up from Virginia to attend camp. I think it is worth it, depending on what you want to get out of it. It is annually regarded as one of the most fan friendly camps in the NFL and the price is right, basically a buck for the transportation from the parking lots to the campus. I will be going this year without a doubt, really missed it last year, but with the lockout looming and some other stuff going on down here I missed it last year. Wow? I haven't lived in Western New York in almost 30 years and when I come back every summer I have never had any problems finding the assigned parking areas. Just go to the Bills website and it gives directions and addresses for each one. If you can't follow directions, invest in a GPS.

Kelsay, Johnson, or Edwards, who gets cut?
BuffBill replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it is the "new" Bills who want to win, Edwards will be gone. If the old Bills creep in and it is about money, then Kelsay might be gone. Kelsay may have been the best player on the Bills defense last year, or at least in the top 3. -
Agree 100%. Bring him in, if it doesn't work out in camp then get rid of him no loss. He isn't going to get big money no matter where he signs, and players at the stage of their career that he is usually want to go to a place where they have a chance to contribute, and with the Bills lack of depth and experience at WR he has that chance if he still has anything left. He isn't the asshat that T.O. is, I don't always like his antics, but his have always been more from a fun point then a selfish, destroy a team angle like T.O. always has been. True. The Pats offense is designed now to throw to two excellent tight ends and a couple midgets who don't run long routes, but get yards after the catch. What harm can it do bringing him in? Can't be anymore harm then bringing in Vince Young, both with possible upsides and very little risk.
-
I am normally against bringing in players like this, I hated the T.O. signing, but I think Ocho could really help this team, if they let him be himself. He still is probably a better receiver then anyone we have to line up on the other side from Stevie Johnson. He isn't the receiver that he was, but he still has more left then he showed in New England, but Belicheats offense kind of handcuffed him.

Who's Your Biggest Bills Creep of All Time ??
BuffBill replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McGahee. Long before he came down with a severe case of diarrhea of the mouth and slammed Buffalo and it's citizens, he acted like an ass towards fans at training camp and always acted like he was better then anyone else. -
What have the Bills done wrong this offseason?
BuffBill replied to Jeffery Lester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only time will tell how successful this off season has been, but it has given Bills fans more optimism then they have had in a decade. With that said, I would have liked them to address the receiver position across from Stevie Johnson. I think our WR position coupled with Fitz being just an average QB at best, unless he proves he can be consistent, might be our downfall on the offense, especially if injuries start mounting like they have the past few year. We have Johnson who in most peoples opinion is a borderline #1, or a very good #2 and a bunch of hopefuls with potential. -
I read somewhere that they lowered the cost by about 40% this year. Last season was the first time I ever called and tried to bargain over the Sunday Ticket. They gave me so many discounts off my bill I can't even remember all of them. They gave me something like $20 off my bill for a year, another section of Directv game me $25 a month for 6 months, the Super Fan package for free, discounted the ticket itself, and gave me a new DVR with free installation for my daughters room. Their goal was to not let you get to the Sunday Ticket section and they would give you discount after discount to try to stop you from getting there. I was just persistent after all the discounts, that I still wanted to talk to them and got even more deals. Haven't decided if I am going to try again this year with the lowered price. The price was getting so steep prior to this year, and coupled with sunday after sunday of disappointments from the Bills, I really considered dropping it, but I have gotten used to it. For $200 bucks a season, it really is a good deal in my opinion. I used to spend more then that going to sports bars every weekend and eating, drinking and gas money. Now I sit at home in comfort and watch.
-
That's not true. They only signed him to a one year deal because they didn't know what they were getting. Nobody can argue that Young has more physical ability in his sleep then Fitz has ever had period, but his problems have been mental and nothing more. If Fitz were to stink the joint up again like he did the second half of last year or get hurt and Young came in and played lights out, there is a good chance that they offer him an extension, which he probably will take since the Bills were the only team willing to give him a chance. Let's just hope Fitz sets the world on fire and that other scenario's don't happen. Not a chance that Belicheat pulls a healthy Brady no matter what the stats are, your crazy if you think otherwise.
-
I think the biggest threat to Fitzpatrick this season is only one person-Fitzpatrick. He has been average at best over a span of several games, with probably more bad games then good. He is being given every chance to take control of this team and be a franchise QB. This team starts a tailspin like they did after the good start last year, I wouldn't hesitate to give almost anyone a chance to Win, since that is what it is all about. Not so sure I would but those four QBs in the same group as Fitz. If any of those 4 start out 0-8, they are still the team's quarterback if healthy, not so sure about Fitz.
-
They obviously need someone to step up as the #2 receiver, since they didn't fill that spot in the off-season. I still think the biggest question is whether or not Fitz is a QB that can take a team to the Superbowl. He has to prove he can put together a complete season, not a few really good games then a bunch of really bad games. History shows you don't need Joe Montana to get to a Superbowl, but you do need a consistently good quarterback. I agree, I am as excited as anyone, but we have to end the NFL's longest playoff drought before we can even discuss Super Bowl.

Between his serious knee problems that have him towards the end of his career and his terrible attitude, no thanks.
