Thought Experiment...
BuffBill replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would pick Tim Tebow just because I would love to see the media cover and entire team of Tebows. -
They might have the Wang but we still have the Wood!
-
Every time I see him interviewed his face reminds me of T.O., so hell no don't sign him. His type of speed doesn't transfer to the football field once you put defenders out there.

QB will be the reason we still can't get it done
BuffBill replied to Toshiero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's hope you are correct, because those two areas are far and away the two glaring weaknesses on this team and the ones that will ultimately keep this team from competing for the playoffs this year. -
I never said to bring him back, and I was referring to the current Lee Evans when I said better then 80% of the Bills receivers. Has he slowed down, of course. He still probably has better hands then Stevie Johnson who is tops of the league year in and out in drops, and Johnson is in the 20% who are better then him at this point of his career. He is still better then Easley, Ruvell Martin and a few of the other receivers fighting for a roster spot. Would I bring him back, probably not, this team doesn't need any reminders of how disastrous the past decade plus has been.

I think you are stating the obvious here. These are college refs who were trying thier best to be accurate and kinda went overboard a bit in the calls, although most were valid. The relationship between the NFL and it's officials has never been great, but when you have a sport in which it is the only one that officiating is a part time job in what do you expect?
-
Not suggesting the Bills will or even should consider signing him but he is still better then 80% of our receiver depth. After Johnson, Nelson and Graham, we have a bunch of guys that probably wouldn't make most other NFL rosters. By far our weakest position on the team, with QB closely behind. Maybe they plan on focusing on those two positions next off season?

For all the COOL stuff Nike makes....
BuffBill replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a collar, it is part of the new jerseys. Nike took over the NFL jerseys this year, and since they couldn't make any major changes to the Bills since the new uni's are only one year old, they had to find something to modify them so you could tell theirs from Reebok. Personally I don't care for the new changes myself either, prefer last years style. Also the material of the jerseys that you buy this year is different too, not quite as comfortable. -
I was thinking of that a few days ago. Plax probably won't get signed until the season starts, because if a team signs him now and he gets hurt, they are on the hook for the whole season's salary, Once the season starts he is basically on a week by week payroll. They certainly do need some help at that position and pretty badly.

I agree, the Bills had what seems like a great off season, but the one area that needed addressed badly and was pretty much left alone was the wide receiver position. Once Vincent Jackson signed in Tampa it seemed they ignored the position, and it could be one of the worst receiver sets in the league. Stevie makes big plays, but he drops way more then his share of balls too. Graham has the potential with his speed to be a really good #3, but he has a way to go, he looks great on one play then terrible on the next, which is to be expected from a rookie. I think that Bills have a bunch of wideouts that would be good depth as 4's or 5's on alot of teams, but they have to rely on them. -
I was thinking the same, that for his first game in the league, even if it was preseason, he was with the first team, Glenn looked pretty good. Seemed like the other side of the line was getting beaten alot more often the the left side. I have to agree, I was kinda watching Glenn and for the most part, especially since it was his first game, even if it was preseason he was with the first team, he looked pretty good. I thought the right side of the line got beaten much more often then the left side did.

BuffBill replied to Toshiero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Luckily it was just the first preseason game, so no need to jump off a cliff or anything, but nothing really too surprising either, as alot of us have said if anything brings this team down it will be the QB position. If the 4 quarterbacks who played last night were competing for a backup job on another team, based on last nights game they all would have been cut. They all sucked plain and simple, but they weren't alone. Receivers dropped balls all night. The line sucked especially when Vince Young was in there. Lindell hooked what was basically an extra point. There were a few bright spots though, Moorman was brilliant with 3 great punts and his competition had one nice punt. Scott Chandler looks better then he did last year, I expect a big year from him as him and Fitz seemed to have formed a good bond on the field. -
Fitz watches the Bachelor with his wife
BuffBill replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Always been a huge fan of Fitz as a person and of his effort, but not of his quarterbacking. I am a little bigger of a fan now, I watch with my wife also, not as big a fan as she is, but I enjoy it. It doesn't make you less of a man if you watch, just less of a man if you can't admit it. -
NFL RUMOR: Bills close to waiving Vince Young
BuffBill replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another year with Thigpen as the backup is a scary thought, but Young being released won't be that big of a surprise. Alot of people thought he would have all sorts of trouble picking up Chan Gailey's offense. There is no question, he has the best QB physical tools on the roster, but obviously physical tools have never been his problem. His problem has always been what is between the ears. -
Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?
BuffBill replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never gonna make it to the AFC Championship when you have a QB who single handedly throws games away like he did against the Super Bowl Champion Giants last year in New Joisey. -
Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?
BuffBill replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He already has. -
I would like to agree with you in that the whole division comes down to Buffalo playing New England, but they really have to take it one game at a time. Last year the Bills beat the Patriots once in Buffalo (and what a great game it was), and that was the only divisional game they won all year, losing twice to both the Jets and the Dolphins. The team looks so much better-on paper, but we had several teams early in the last decade that looked the same, much improved, but the results really weren't what we expected.

Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?
BuffBill replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would love more then anything to be able to say that I thought Fitz was going to be an upper echelon quarterback, but I really can't. I think we have seen as good as we are ever going to get from Fitz last year, and that was leading the NFL in interceptions. My gut feeling is, the QB position is going to keep us from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender for quite some time, at least for as long as it take to replace Fitz, and his replacement to mature into a top level passer. I like Fitz as much as anyone and hope he excels, but... do your statistical research now just listing the last 9 games like you did selectively the first 7 games last year. Looking at those stats one might wonder why he is still on the roster. Anyone can pick and choose statistics to use to prove a point, you could do that with Losman, or that matter Edwards when the Bills were the last unbeaten team in the NFL a few years back. Like I said, I like Fitz, but only using the statistics that favor your point is ridiculous. -
Sucks for Seattle. They pretty much built that offense around him, and gave him that big contract. If convicted he is most likely out for the season. The millionaire athletes today are amazing, Lynch, Dez Bryant, etc. Proof that millions can't buy common sense.

Same here. Reminds me of the hats the younger kids where where their ears are up inside the hat itelf. I must be old, because I also prefer the curved bill.

Check out the newest Buffalo song "YES WE BILLIEVE"

Pretty good, and I am no fan of rap whatsoever. I grew up about 40 yards down the street from his family in Salamanca. -
Looks like blackout rule won't apply here
BuffBill replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So do I, although technically with the preseason games you get more then 16 sundays (unless they are all on saturdays). -

Is Vince Young a wacko or just a player that needs coaching?
BuffBill replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wasn't talking about you or for that matter VY either. Just kinda in general they way people jump on a players bandwagon so quickly (Jasper, etc.) before they have ever really done anything with a Buffalo on their helmet.
