Maiden, did you really think that was the smart play with Chand, one of the mods who keeps this site going? Cmon brother, Ive given you the benefit of the doubt on this marathon thread, but it’s starting to go a little off the rails. we get it, you love Wade. You are also willing to trade away one of our two third round picks or Breida who was on a SB team for an aging rugby player. One that has only performed against preseason opponents. He hasn’t played one down in a regular season game. you’re kind of reaching at this point. A lot of reasonable people have stated how about we wait for OTA’S, training camp, preseason games and see what happens. Isn’t that reasonable? -

Does Gregory Rousseau need "redshirt" year?
machine gun kelly replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like this Yeoman, Yeoman Rand. As far as a red shirt year, that’s silly. The guy opted out for honorable reasons for his mom. He doesn’t need just to practice, but to be worked in slowly to the starting or rotational lineup. I’m betting he plays 40% by week 9 after the bye. He may only see spot duty pure pass rushing specialist for AARP Addison. -
For me it’s not one game. The Chiefs is an easy answer. The Titans is a second easy answer after last year given our injuries, and of course the Bucs is the most obvious answers. given all that the Colts, is intriguing kind of like in the playoffs the Browns if we face them. They are ascending and it would be nice t9 see we are ascending faster than those two. This will be interesting.

But I’m given it all I can captain. Scotty, if we don’t have warp drive in two minutes, you’re fired. Ayy Captain, maybe we can get a wee bit more out of her. -

Maiden, you might want to consider consolidating you’re thoughts into one post meaning, you’ve multiple times keep responding to yourself. I understand if you’re having a conversation with some of the guys and you bring up new points, that makes sense. I don’t care, it’s just I wanted to read through the thread to hear you out in you’re case, and was looking, wait he’s posting, and then posting again. At a quick glance I thought maybe others are agreeing with you’re points. Anyway, he seems to be a nice young guy, but he has a lot stacked against him. As you mentioned our depth players value is in ST. It’s not like Jones is going to sub in for Moss, Singletary or Breida unless one or multiple are hurt which can happen. He activated for ST, but in an emergency for example, Moss takes one for 7 yards and bangs up his knee. McD has Singletary activated and god forbid two plays later Singletary goes down with an ankle. Well you have a RB who was there for ST that now can get you through the game. I’m not sure why you’re so high on him as I can only remember one play in the pre season two years ago, and after he didn’t even know to run off the field for the extra point. Maybe he’s learned the game, but I haven’t seen extensive interviews of him, or any substantive tape in practice to know if he’s improved. We didn’t activate Yeldon throughout the last two years so they only had two RB’s active plus a ST RB. Why would that change? Not me asking, but what would lead you to believe McD all of a sudden changes his philosophy on offense. He’ll probably be on the IPP again, it’s a nice story, and by next year he either learns the game enough to make the 53 or he received a nice paycheck for three years. If he really wanted to make the active roster, wouldn’t they exhaust every Avenue to get him to be an excellent ST player? Having it’s own thread makes sense, I just think it’s all been said before. If you really have some new info., interviews by the coaches, etc., practice tape, please share it as maybe you are right. I’ve just not seen anything and trust our coaching staff. Maybe he lights it up in all three preseason games and he gets his shot. That’s where he’ll have to prove it. -
Questions for former players???
machine gun kelly replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All kidding aside as we’ve fun with this one, Flutie would’ve won that game. You can hate him, whatever, but our defense was punishing. Ralph made the call we needed a guy with a big arm in that game, even though Flutie won us 10 that season. He would’ve done just enough to win it. The Rams had never faced a defense like us then. We were better than just about any defense we’ve put up since I was a toddler in the mid 70’s. we couldve beat the daylights out in the old rules of Bruce and Holt, amd big old teddy Washington and Paul would’ve pummeled Faulk. ralph screwed that team. NFLR yesterday asked what coach did any team fire that screwed the team. The answer beyond Chandler who would say Lou Saban and he’s right, but Wade. You can say he’s folksy, but he kept the gang together when the stars were getting older. We could’ve had one last ride had it not been for Ralph and the rob don johnson thing. im not saying Flutie was the future as he wasn’t at all, but he could’ve helped in that game. -

I would’ve liked Bucs - Cheats. Watch Brady destroy the Cheats and if lucky Mack Jones is in and has the worst rookie opening in the history of the NFL. I’ll take hating with every fiber of my being the Cheats than Brady. How much fun would it be waking up Friday and the Bucs beat the Cheats, 52-3, and not even close after the first series. Brady drives down in 4 minutes, then a pick six and 14-0 by minute 10 of the 1st period. Brady is out by halftime, and the backup keeps scoring. You guys who go to parties have to take a sip of beer every first down for the Bucs. Blaine freakin Gabbert scores 14 pts., then just for fun, Ryan Sinnett for 7, then Kyle freakin Trask for another 7. That’s a home opener I’m open to watching. Puts the whole BB plays chess while everyone else plays checkers to bed!
