  1. I'll pull a Madden here (stating the completely obvious), but it's pretty clear from this roster that Parrish will not be ready for the Houston game...
  2. They'd have to pay double-time for the holiday weekend. BFF19 was kind enough to do a breakdown by position...
  3. They want to show what it will be like when they host the Super Bowl in 2008.
  4. Why do you think Tucker's gone...?
  5. Musta been the trainer that slipped Ross "Pee-Boy" Tucker on the list....
  6. That list looks good, except I'd keep Thompson and cut JP Losman...
  7. I was thinking similar. Sub-forum of the Wall. There are obviously both PPP and non-PPP folks who want to discuss this...some even in a civil manner. It would be nice to have topic related threads rather than making the same argument across 100 topics...maybe even move the stuff that had been pushed over to PPP...
  8. No, my instinct is to try to understand a situation beyond what we are getting in our over-the-top Geraldo/Shep sound bites before forming an opinion. I'm anti-Bush, I voted against him twice. But even I recognize placing blame on him and him alone is a little misguided. I can absolutely understand why people are upset. But the response of the Gov't should not be "OMG! OMG! We have to do something even if it's wrong." You are going to kill more people with the wrong, instant, panicked actions than will die from deliberately moving forward.
  9. It will help even more when there's a game that means something to talk about...
  10. I believe it was only due to President Bush's pleading to the Governor of LA that they enacted a mandatory evacuation (not exactly "shouting from the rooftops" but certainly the same effect). It should have been a no-brainer, and things should have gone a lot more smoothly, especially with having Ivan last year as a dry run of the evacuation plans...It should have been clear with a city like that, facing the possible catastrophe of a Cat 4/5 demolishing the city, that city folks should have had detailed evacuation plans with last resort shelters outside the city being pre-arranged, and a plan to evacuate those withtout their own form of transport to said cities...From what I can tell, they are still scrambling to find places to keep the refugees once they are out of the city...
  11. Was Tucker Carlson's show put on as an effort to raise funds for Katrina relief? I take it you felt the sudden urge to give money when you heard "Bush hates black people?" They were there to plead for money. Wrong venue for those comments...
  12. Good luck Nick!
  13. Actually, the one that said looting was an AP photo, the one that said "finding groceries" was an AFP (French Press) photo. Every article I've read calls looting "looting." Be it by blacks, whites, police...Get a grip...
  14. Add Milloy, Vincent and Moorman to the list. Can I get a count of how many collective post-Bills Pro-Bowls those dearly departed players have been to...? If you want to talk about a team that fails to pay its star players, you want to talk Patriots...and look where that "poor attitude" toward its players got them.
  15. Wow. An analysis of what would have happened in New Orleans if Ivan had hit directly, basically looking at the hypotheticals of a Cat 4/5 hitting New Orleans and the "lessons supposedly learned" from the evacuation efforts for Ivan...
  16. But will we be sure even after the injury report...?
  17. Though Geraldo would probably end up dealing with yet another broken nose.... As far as his "report" goes: Was he carrying heat?
  18. Ummm, actually, it's Peter being the arrogant ass in this case. Different ****. Anybody here note the difference in geographical size of the devestation between the two hurricanes? A lot of focus is on New Orleans, but the total area declared as a National Disaster is on the order of 60,000 sq. miles. I would imagine that trying to pick your way through a damage zone the size of the UK (on top of the fact that some pictures I've seen showing rescue vehicles from Red Cross being pre-staged too close to the hurricane (ending up in several feet of water) might take more than a couple hours...
  19. Maybe that semi-pro team from Miami could kick in some too (I'm guessing that's why you said 30 and not 31... ).
  20. The release says they are still working out the details (now that I went back and re-read it more carefully...), as the game was scheduled for 1:00 Sunday. I would expect a move to Saturday would happen, but still a double-header on the same weekend...
  21. WOW! That means a double-header at the Meadowlands...(Jets host Miami @ 4). I was wondering how it would work out logistically, since there's a game there virtually every weekend (except potentially for bye weeks).
  22. Gas in the sticks shot up to $3.59. Special and super are running .20 apart at one station...
  23. Spielberg had approached Steve McQueen, Dustin Hoffman, and Gene Hackman for the role of Roy Neary in CE3K, per IMDB Author Peter Benchley wanted Redford, Newman and McQueen in the film, per IMDB.
  24. Yeah, those would be the Directnic folks. been keeping an eye on their blog here. It does go to show that they are actually dropping water....despite what some say...(I saw those pictures yesterday).
