  1. Tasker has no cause to be arrogant given that it seems as though he has been on the cusp of getting let go by CBS these past few years. Hasn't he been on their last crew and is stuck with all of the lesser games. I like Steve and hope that this is not true. If it is true, he should go out of his way to be the nicest guy in the world. I also noticed that he is listed as a Bills consultant (or something like that) on BuffaloBills.com. Is he still with CBS?
  2. So far, DJ has been a very pleasent surprise.
  3. He had an argument with TD. Personally, I would not mind it at all if the Bills brought him back. He is pretty versatile.
  4. It depends. I have Hurricane season tickets. As I said earlier, he played well two years ago. We had high hopes for him last year. He was not as productive as we all thought he would be given his earlier performance. He has a lot of ability. I am sure that some team is going to give him another look. If the Bills are happy with our depth, it probably will not be with us. If the Bills are not happy with our depth, he is worth a look.
  5. Orien Harris has a lot of ability. He was very good two years ago, but did not play up to his potential last year. He would be worth a look depending on how DJ and the defensive staff think about our depth.
  6. Willis has shown no indication that he wants out of Buffalo. He seems to be very content. The only team that I would have been worried about would have been the Dolphins because he understandably probably would want to play in his hometown near his family (with whom he is very close). They are committed to Ronnie Brown. If the Bills offer him market value (which will be determined by his performance on the field), I have no reason to believe that he will not stay with the Bills. If the Bills do not offer him market value, he will go to a team that does -- just like pretty much any other player in the NFL.
  7. That is a very interesting article. It sounds as though Turk is doing a good job with JP. If JP can continue to improve (as he has this pre-season), it could be an exciting year. The regular season will be the test for him and the rest of the team.
  8. In fact, it was because of that game that I added the word "almost." That was a great game.
  9. Beating the Pats would be a great way to begin the year. If we beat them, however, it will not be because we catch them off guard. BB almost always has his team ready to play. To beat them, we will have to outplay them and not make any mistakes.
  10. So far, no injuries, no INTs, no fumbles, no dropped passes, no missed blocks. I am pretty happy about that. On the other hand, the score is still tied.
  11. I also loved the way Jim would try to lay the wood on any DB who intercepted one of his passes. One of the best tackles that I have ever seen was when Jim with his linebacker mentality delivered a bone crunching tackle after an INT.
  12. It is nice to see that you finally have come around on this. I was beginning to think that you thought that Willis bought a house in Buffalo because of the booming real estate market in WNY.
  13. I really thought that you were smarter than that. I guess I was mistaken.
  14. Sorry. I thought it was kind of funny. By the way, SI has us going 8-8.
  15. I just heard that his girlfriend from USC (the one that is the basketball player) is pregnant. So much for the USC "Trojans." I personally like Leinart and think that he was great at USC. It will interesting to see how he gets along with that holier than thou Kurt Warner especially after this. [Although some would have you believe otherwise, I guess Willis is not the only professional athlete with baby mamas.] I am sorry if this already has been posted.
  16. Kind of like your posts -- especially your diatribes about Willis.
  17. For those of you saying that Willis has done nothing running the ball in the preseason, take a look at what LT and the Edge have done in the preseason. By the way, I am not saying that Willis has played up to their level yet in the regular season, but let's not get too carried away with the preseason. As a former running back, one of the things that I focus on is when first contact is. If you watch the Bills, then I am sure that you are aware that there has been an abnormally large percentage of the time when first contact is either behind or at the line of scrimmage. I would really love to see the line push the D off the line of scrimmage and create some holes. Of course, this will be easier if our passing game can get the D to stop commiting eight men or more in the box as was so often the case last year.
  18. Great post. I knew when I read the title of the string that this was going to be another bash Willis string. Maybe some of these guys are wistful for the days when TH was back there with his look out blocks. Willis is a pretty good pass blocker. He is not in Thurman's league yet (and may never be). Thurman was one of the best pass blockers as a running back that I have ever seen.
  19. My son is going to kindergarten next year. I have a feeling I am going to have the exact same reaction. It is amazing how fast time goes by.
  20. You know exactly what it means. Why bother buying a house if you are not planning on staying. Buying a house is absolutely inconsistent with "counting the days" as some of you keep on saying. It is not as if Buffalo real estate is such a wonderful investment opportunity. By the way, how many Bills do you think actually own homes in WNY?
  21. My Dad died 20 years ago. I am still not over it. He should take as much time as he needs. I have all the confidence in the world that DJ and Marv are not going to hold it against the kid that he has spent a couple of weeks with his family after one of the worst things that can happen to a person. God bless his mother, him, and his family.
  22. For those of you that are in absolute love with JP, I would recommend that you stop the hyperbole for two reasons. First, he has not done much of anything in the NFL yet. Second, for JP's stake, you are setting an impossible standard for the guy. Let's find out if he has the ability to not lose any games and, with any luck, help win a few games along the way. After that, we can start debating whether he is the second coming of Brett Favre.
