  1. Should we sit Melvin Fowler? [This whole string is really sad.]
  2. . . . check out what Vince Wolfork did to Melvin Fowler That was the key to the outcome of the play. Spoilier alert: Wilfork knocked Fowler two yards into the backfield and changed the whole play. That started the chain of events where WM had no choice but to move laterally to his right before cutting toward the line of scrimmage and no one picked up the back side linebacker. In fact, I doubt that even one of our blockers knocked any of their guys off the line of scrimmage. P.S. I may have missed it, but I do not recall seeing one post mentioning how Wilfork abused Fowler on this play. Instead, many on this board have tried to use this play to further their preconcieved biases.
  3. There was a time when I thought that we had the best fans in the league and in professional sports. There still is a large segment of Bills and Sabres fans who still can be characterized this way. Unfortunately, there are some who are not.
  4. Watch the friggen replay. I have watched it plenty of times on the DVR. The Pats just destoyed our o-line on that play pure and simple.
  5. Mine too. Funny how that happened. I will repeat what I said. Those critical of Willis should watch the replay. The Pats blew up the play from the snap. Compare that play and others with the gaping holes that the Pats opened up for their RBs.
  6. Go for the first down IF you think that your o-line can block. Based on what had happened both before and after that play, the decision to go for it was a big time gamble. I like that balls that DJ showed. Unfortunately, the decision was not based more on wishful thinking than on what the o-line showed it could do.
  7. You might want to watch the replay of that play. The Pats busted that play up from the snap -- thanks to the line. Compare that with the holes that the Pats line was opening up for their backs.
  8. Some of the guys on this board are just jealous of UM and the success UM has had. There are plenty of former UM players that would really upgrade this team.
  9. You are 100% correct.
  10. I think the reason for that was they did not want to get JP killed.
  11. That was one the refs got right.
  12. As disappointed as I was with the outcome, we came pretty close to beating the best team in the NFL over the past few years in their stadium. JP is making progress. He is not completely there just yet -- but he is giving me reason for being optimistic. The only ball that he short hopped (that I recall) was not his fault (he could not step into the ball because of the rush). We have some pretty good skill players on offense. When they were given a chance, they performed well -- both RBs, Lee, PP, and Reed (who made some pretty good catches). Our speed on defense is excellent. The young DBs have a lot of potential and looked pretty good for their first game. Our linebackers moved well and made plays when the d-line gave them half a chance. Lindell hit a great kick. I have a lot more confidence in this staff than I did with the previous staff. I am optimistic that DJ, SF, and PF can do the job. The bad news: both or offensive line and defensive line got beat up at the point of attack. Watch the line play for the rest of the season. We will start winning when we win the battle up front. It is very simple. Unfortunately, this has been our problem for many years. BM also had an uncharacteristic day punting the ball. There was a time there when I thought that maybe we should bring that aussie rules guy back. I am confident that BM can bounce back. If we beat Miami in Miami next week, we all will be feeling a whole lot better. The key is that we have to bounce back. The Dolphins saw that the Pats beat us up at the point of attack and will try to do the same thing. We will find out next Sunday if we can stop them and create space for our playmakers.
  13. It was ticky tacky AT BEST. It should not have been called.
  14. They can fly, but they cannot control the line of scrimmage. Sam Adams would have been very good in the D. Fat Pat as well.
  15. If DB had been sacked in the end zone in the same manner as JP was today, many of you would be screaming that DB had a "complete lack of pocket awareness." The fact of the matter is that JP had a very good game. The fact also is that people have been very hypocritical in the way that they have judged our QBs for the past several years.
  16. You are correct. We lost this game at the line of scrimmage -- as we have for the past 10 years or so.
  17. JP played a darn good game (except for some ball handling). The point that was being made was that there are some people on this board who would have blamed the loss on DB if it had been him out there.
  18. That is very funny. Thank you for pointing this out the hypocrisy of some people on this board.
  19. You are exactly correct. You also make way to much sense. There are people on this board who you know will blame Willis on that even though the play was blown up because of the horrid line play on our part.
  20. Take a look at where first contact was. For most of the game and nearly all of the second half, he had someon in his face behind the line of scrimmage. Compare that with the holes that the Pats line was giving their rbs.
  21. It would have been a great call if the line had actually blocked on the play. Compare the way our line blocked on fourth down and how the Pats blocked. We never had a chance. The Pats had great penetration on the play.
  22. They never showed a replay on that. I played it back on the DVR and it definitely should have been a penalty. It would have been if it had been the Pats punting the ball.
  23. The Patriots beat us at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The Pats offensive line opened up gaping holes while our o-line hardly was able to push them back. It is a day like today when I miss Fat Pat, Sam Adams, and Big Ted (or anyone else that can clog the interior of the line). Our offensive line really needs to be able to give our playmakers a chance. It was very frustrating to compare the holes and protection that the Pats line gave to their rbs and Brady as opposed to what our line gave our rbs and JP. P.S. Some of the penalties against us were BS or ticky tacky as well. Nevertheless, we need to be more disciplined and stop those illegal blocks in the back and the killer penalties on special teams.
  24. You make way too much sense for some of the Drew bashers on this board.
  25. This is great. I am going to be in Europe for Christmas and now will be able to watch the game.
