  1. Do you think that the Heat would have won the game without LeBron? We saw how that worked out at the end of Game 1.
  2. One the things that I like about Lebron is that he makes everyone around him better unlike some of the other "stars" who seem to make others worse. I trust that tonight's game puts to rest the accusation that Lebron somehow a kitty. If I could, I would have him start at tight end for the Bills immediately.
  3. This. ^
  4. Wherever this is coming from, I like your thinking.
  5. Very true. My Dad died when I was 25. It still affects me. I cannot imagine being in Marcell's position. I have not given up on the kid. I am glad that his teammates an d the team have not. Notwithstanding the fact that Marcell has a lot of money and plays in the NFL, Jerry Sullivan might want to think about how lucky he and his kid have it. I wonder if Jerry would "cut" his kid if he got caught with pot or drove fast.
  6. To criticize Lebron for last night is complete and utter BS and shows that some of you keyboard jockeys probably never played sports on any level. The guys is about 250 pounds with minimal body fat. Listen, I thought the "Decision" was a horrible way to announce that he was going to leave Cleveland. Being from Buffalo, I really can empathize what they must have gone through having one of their own leave town. It was also stupid to say that he was going to take his talents to South Beach - especially given that the Heat play in the city of Miami and not Miami Beach. Having said all that, I actually think that he is a pretty decent guy - along with being a great basketball player. Except for the Decision, he is especially thoughtful and articulate and sometimes it is difficult to believe that he never went to college or had a father to mentor him. You never read or hear about him getting in trouble, making it rain, getting in bar fights, stumbling out of clubs, abusing women, or anything of that sort. Go ahead and criticize him for being tone deaf for the way he went about the Decision, but I would never question his heart - especially on the basketball court. His legs cramped up pure and simple. It happens to a lot of world class athletes. It has nothing to do with desire.
  7. Fans of most teams are so lucky. They get to enjoy football and not have to worry about their team moving. We, on the other hand, have had to endure 14 non playoff years and spend our lives parsing lease agreements, trusts, wills, Toronto Sun articles, Tom Golisano interviews, Delaware North press releases, and radio station sound bites - just to name a few.
  8. You are absolutely correct. Best case scenario. Solves all issues. I also always liked Monica Seles - for both sporting and prurient reasons. She actually seems very cool and went through something no one should have to go through.
  9. Prince Oberyn turned out to be the Desean Jackson of Kings Landing. Man, I was really rooting for him. I was pissed when that happened. When he was spiking the ball at the 10, I had a feeling something was going to go wrong. They really know how to emphatically end an episode. Wow.
  10. You basically captured my thoughts re this. We gave up a lot (too much in my view). Nevertheless, I am ecstatic about Sammy, and, if you are going to take a risk, this is exactly the kind of kid you do that for. I heard on the radio yesterday that he is showing up at facilities at 6:00 a.m. to work on his routes etc. Great kid.
  11. I agree with your central point. Yet, even Yankee Stadium was replaced. As far as the Packers are concerned, if only the Buffalo community could own the team (as is allowed with the Packers but no other team) . . . .
  12. Given what we gave up for him, I hope it is Sammy. I also think that Spikes is going to be a great addition for the Bills.
  13. I believe that the intention of that $130 million is to at least buy us time given the language of the lease.
  14. I like the Ralph for watching a game. There are a lot of stadiums/arenas that were great for watching games for the core fan that no longer exist. The main problems with the Ralph for various reasons: 1. NFL wants a new stadium 2. New owner likely wants a new stadium 3. It is not located in a location that offers any synergy with anything else (e.g., downtown, NF, UB) 4. It would be great if it had a retractable roof.
  15. Sully has shown once again that he firmly has finger on the pulse of Bills nation - or at least 16 Bills fans. As an aside, I remember when Sully wrote another ridiculous column about a year or so ago. (Which one, I do not recall - nearly every column he writes is the same - except for the one he recently wrote about that girl that tragically died and the one after the Olympics). In any event, the column I am referring to came out when he still appeared on WGR. He claimed that nearly everyone supported his view on whatever BS he had written about. Yet, when you read the comments on the Buffalo News website, he got about the same support as he has with this dribble.
  16. Sadly, I cannot. I am saving my money to keep the Bills in Buffalo.
  17. I always suspected that Jerry Sullivan and some of the other guys from the Buffalo News post on this site anonymously and try to stir the pot and drive the narrative that they are pushing. We can now probably narrow it down to the 6 guys who voted to cut Marcell. There is no way that the Bills should even be considering cutting Marcell. Just my two cents.
  18. Obviously, the team will always be the Buffalo Bills to us. Nevertheless, if it meant securing the Bills' long-term future in WNY with sound financial support for the team, I might be able to convince myself to go along with the following: Buffalo-Niagara Bills or Buffalo/Niagara Bills That could be the official name. It parallels the marketing campaign that the region has. http://www.visitbuffaloniagara.com/ It is not as nonsensical as Niagara Bills and still keeps the original name and tradition as part of the name. People north of the border probably would become more invested (emotionally and financially) than they otherwise would. Most of us probably still would call them the Buffalo Bills or just the Bills in any event.
  19. I am not either. I just wish that, one day soon, I will wake up and find out that the Pegulas, Golisano, the Jacobs family (or someone like these people) have bought the team.
