Schopp was standing close by and said he could see that it was a roster he was looking at but I agree that they blew this out of proportion. I'm sure he knows players names and abilities but they've only had their numbers for a short time.
I can just picture Ralph talking to MM like one of his speeches. Mike, ........ I'd....... like....... to...... ask..... what..... you...... think........ should....... be..... done..... to..... improve....... the...... team.
They should be done by Friday.
Maybe RW will ask Marv his opinion for straightening things out, GM and HC prospects, etc. I don't think he'll coach again, could possibly give him the GM position.
As I said in another thread I think it was more of a protest move by Willis than anything else. "If you (MM) are going to run the no huddle and pass the ball all over the place then I'll just sit this out."
I agree. I HATE that 'we play as one' crap. Especially when it doesn't show on the field.
And now back to our regularly scheduled topic... I'm keeping mine.
I liked PM. He added humor but he does gush too much. Actually, ESPN in general gushes too much. JT, on the other hand, is a babbling idiot and often doesn't think before he speaks. Or maybe he's just plain stupid.
If you read WM comments in the News he said he took himself out because they were running the no huddle and he was tired. I think it was more of a protest move than anything else. If you're (MM) going to run the no huddle and pass the ball all over the place then I'll just sit this out.
MM lost control of the team to the players (see WM, EM, SA) and that was his downfall. They wanted JP out and the vet in so he did it. Now we wasted the year and still don't know if JP will be any good.
I agree that JP was the right choice at the time as was picking up DB. But in both cases they were burdoned with bad offensive lines. I still think JP can work out and I'm frustrated that we wasted this year by not giving him playing time. He needs playing time so we can see if he'll sink or swim. If he sinks then we look for an alternative. But right now we really don't know what we have. Our coach and GM were more concerned about winning a couple more games to try to save their jobs.
What happened to the power running and strong defense that were going to give JP time to improve while still winning? The coach folded and listened to some veterans that are on the way out the door and wanted to win now. This year was a total waste of time.
Who cares if Holcomb made a throw that you think JP couldn't? Holcomb's been in the league a lot longer so he'd better see the field better. We were 4 and 10 going into this game and going nowhere. Now is the the time to give JP experience and see if he's improving.
I agree that Reed made a great catch on a key play in the game. He was hammered so hard it knocked his shoe off but he still held on.
Although I'd have liked to keep some, everyone on your list was overpaid by another team. I don't mind TD being shrewd(frugal) so that we don't get into salary cap trouble. Nate is the next one up and again I'd like to keep him but not for an $18 million signing bonus. Maybe that would fly on a 7 year contract.
I'm surprised they didn't keep Haddad and put George Wilson on the practice squad. I was also surprised they cut Tucker but I expect TD will be picking up someone let go by another team.
