A moratorium on war spending for a week, returning the money in equal shares to the taxpayers, would be much better. These morons have not yet figured out that stopping the flow of money coming IN to the government coffers is totally ineffective unless you also reduce the money going OUT. The taxpayer will just pay somewhere else and the candidate will be able to make a claim that mght turn into a good campaign slogan. You can't dog citizens who get in over their heads in debt for doing the same things their "leaders" are doing. (Well, I can and DO because if I can't pay for it, I don't buy it. But that's just me.) By the way I see oil is $115 a barrel. Does anyone remember what it was when the Chief Oil Executive took office? Somewhere in the 30's. Hmm. What's up with that do you think?

Miami sucks. The game will probably suck too since the Bills suck slightly less than Miami but a LOT more than most other NFL teams. If the game does suck, then the Torontonians or whatever they are will probably stay away in droves the next year. The NFL and Bills could have won BIG with a MNF against a marquee opponent, but they were too chicken to take the risk. So now they have a stinkfest. I love to hate the Fish as much as any Bills fan but lately they're hard to hate. The teams to hate are the Cowboys, Patsies* and to a certain extent the Browns. So instead of rioting and burning tickets and bull sh-- like that the best thing to do is show up and show em what REAL Bills fans are made of. Leave the lattes to Toronto and Seattle.

I read an article about how pharma companies which used to provide certain life-saving drugs to insurance plan recipients for reasonable co-pays have decided now to eliminate that, so that people who were paying $250 a year for a drug now may 3x or more....keep in mind people with MS for example - one of the treatments cited - typically take more than one drug. I got really PISSED. My first thought was for the bastard corporations that take advantage of sick people....leading to the bastard politicians that toady up to them....leading to the morons who support the bastard politicians...and how those morons like guns and hate liberals...and how I was going to come to PPP and flame them all. So, see, Obama was right. I should be faxing hate mail to the pharmas, but I just insulted you guys. Not that you don't usually deserve it, but in this case it's not YOU it's my displaced anger. He probably fell into a few potholes or got stuck in a two-hour delay in one of the never-ending road construction projects they have there. I could never figure out why the whole state highway system ALWAYS seemed to be under construction and then lo! one day I read of the big scandal about the road contracts etc. It seems like much of that construction wasn't even really needed... tsk tsk. Very good reason to hate PA. Of course Obama never said he hated PA, but if he did, I'd understand why. I've been to Scranton you see.

Can someone post a link to the NFL schedule? Because I can't find it and if I have to wade through all that NFL crap I'll go nuts. I went to the Bills site and they just have the teams not the dates, the only dates are pre-season and I could not care less about those.... tks!

Doesn't anyone remember the flight in Asia where a bomb actually WAS exploded on board, using a bottle of "saline solution"? There was, I believe, only one fatality ... they were testing to see what it would take to down the airliner. The culprit escaped although I believe he may have been captured or killed elsewhere later...I am not sure about that. I think it was a Filipino airliner and if memory serves it was TEN YEARS AGO. So why then is THIS such new news? Oh that's right....they were targeting flights bound for America which might therefore have a lot of Americans on board. I just passed John Edwards in the lobby of the Hilton at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Lucky that either the neighborhood is stable or they're tough enough to have weathered the ups and downs. My family lived in Brooklyn (Windsor Terrace area, on the Greenwood Cemetary side and on E24th near Flatbush) and had to leave when crack took over. My aunt had one of those glorious 3-story Victorian homes...her parents lived on the top floor and the family lived on the first two. My uncle had a liquor store that got robbed all the time and they finally thru in the towel the third or fourth time they caught a crackhead climbing into a window in their entryway.... Course where'd they move? Right across from the Twin Towers.
