  1. What's really funny is Bush's statements from yesterday that it's unfortunate that we have a war (that he started) and that the Democrats don't have a plan to win and end it (look who's talking). What an ass. And I betcha he laughed a lot while he was pertcktin the skies of Texass from Charlie...while everyone else's sons were rotting in foxholes and rice paddies and getting their asses shot at.
  2. Clinton's birthday is August 17 or 19th I know that because mine is the 18th.
  3. "They"? I am specifically referring to Rush Limbaugh and his personal attack on Michael J. Fox.
  4. Do you like movies about gladiators?
  5. Where's the law that says he MUST take his meds? It seems to me that there are programs that haul teenagers to ICU's to see smashed-up kids so they can see firsthand what happens when you drink and drive. Seeing is believing. That's the point. Fox wants people to see just what this disease is. I see nothing wrong with that. Limbaugh is undeniably a piece of crap. But the right pretty much reacts the same way. Instead of taking the opportunity to agree that "yes it is a terrible disease, but we still don't agree with stem cell research because _____, "they attack. Which means even they don't believe their own bigoted, chickenshit arguments against it. You see it here all the time. They have no intelligent reasons to support their argument, so they attack. I predict this post will probably result in a string of them, which will prove my point. BiB would be so proud of me for that.
  6. That the American people ALLOW this country to implement and follow bad policy means that they have to live with the results. Our failure to be outraged and express that outrage, in a country where we are supposedly free to do so, must appear to the world to be tacit approval of stupid policy. Erego, we "deserve" the attacks. Fact is we all know what it takes to be a good neighbor. People are people the world over. Most good, and very few not. It's not easy to stand up against bad things - which is why America gets attacked. We've become lazy to where, until it hits US in the ass, it's just too much bother.
  7. It's not as cool as my "Evildoer" shirt. I imagine it would go over big at Halloween. My ultra-conservative bro in law thought that his "Going Postal" costume was a hoot, this is right up there with that in terms of questionable taste. He was lucky he didn't run into a REAL "postal" postal worker...
  8. Pat Tillman according to the neocons on this board was a hero. He served with his brother...who risked his life to preserve the right to speak one's mind. His brother GAVE his life for that. Don't anyone here dare swiftboat him - unless you are a chickenshit coward. Oh by the way, the Administration has sent a senior diplomat to fall on his sword for the mess in Iraq. In an interview with Al Jazerra, no less. I am sure not it's no coincidence that two high-ranking military people (as opposed to the chickenshit chickenhawks who got us into this mess) spoke out in the past week against Iraq...and now suddenly the US is willing to admit to "arrogance" and "stupidity". A search of my posts over the past 6 years well reveal that as usual I am ahead of the game, knowing this Administration is both arrogant and stupid. Now they finally admit it. It's on cnn.com. Look it up.
  9. And taking out Buffalo would be such a crippling blow to America. Sorry, I like Buffalo but let's not go there. It's unfortunately one of those places that the rest of the country can't get too worked up about, sort of like ... Cleveland.
  10. I was surprised at the number of kids there, I mean younger kids and teens. I was definitely NOT the oldest person there. The Stones are worth it, even just once. They put on a spectacular show. The ticket prices are horrendous but you really get your money's worth.
  11. As reported on CNN.com, go there and read it yourself. Now I cna see avoiding ProPlayer field because there's not much football to be played there anyway. But - last night I sat at Qwest Field (Rolling Stones, awesome show) from 5:45 - 11 pm and counted at least 10 commerical aircraft and innumerable helicopters and other small craft flying directly over the stadium, low enough to read their numbers. Apparently airspace is only protected over serious targets like those petting zoos in Florida and stuff.
  12. Ah the old pre-emptive strike mentality! Saddams sons were both nutjobs and would have killed MORE people so our invasion is actually SAVING people from being killed. Yup, that sounds like fodder for a 2007 Nobel prize, in what category I don't know.
  13. EXCELLENT question. Here's another one: Where did he get the gas? From the-enemy-of-his-enemy perhaps (the red, white and blue one)??
  14. UPI reporting on The Lancet's report The Lancet is a well-respected, non-political institution. Don't like that? How about Johns Hopkins. Even if the toll is "only" 100,000 - The US wanted the world to stop everything when we lost fewer than 3000 to a horrific attack. I challenge anyone here to consider losing 100,000 Americans, anywhere, and then to say honestly that it's no big deal.
  15. Study published last week said over 600k. It was in all the papers,
  16. My husband has a t-shirt that says "Ask me about the Downing Street Memo". When people do, and he tells them, their eyes pop. Worth the price of admission.
  17. I'd love to know where you got all THAT from. Sounds like you're pretty hung up on reproduction. Funny about conservatives, they really have issues with that. I wonder why? Not being a liberal, how would you know what we want? How about -Schools where our children can learn and not have to worry about getting shot up -Equal access to doctors and medical treatment for the middle class and poor as well as the rich -Good roads and decent public transportation to use as an alternative, to keep money in our pockets and reduce pollutants and dependence on oil -Peace -Fair and equitable taxation so that the middle class isn't groaning under the burden of taxation whilst the rich take advantage of loopholes and the corporations pillage. -Improvements in third-world countries so that others, like most of us, can go to bed at night not having to worry about whether they will eat tomorrow -More cordial relations with the parts of the world that want the same things we do, so that the renegades are truly isolated and thus can be destroyed. If those things frighten conservatives, their world must be a very scary and barren place. How very unfortunate for them.
  18. Cut and run!? Cowards! Chickenshits!? Let's just stay and keep killing people and watching our soldiers die and get maimed. Shoot, to leave now would be be..UNMANLY. Boy howdy, no self-respektin cowboy would do it. On the other hand, who wants to be the last one to die for a mistake...or to ask a man to be the last one to die for a mistake...or ask someone to die for something stupid and meaningless? Seems I heard something like that somewhere, spoken by someone know knew what he was talking about. Too bad people don't listen and learn.
  19. That is true. But every soldier sacrifices. I honor Tillman for his sacrifice, but no more than the other 2,700+ Americans (not to mention allies) who have also lost their lives. We may not worship the "Everyman" like we do athletes but their lives are just as precious, to someone if not to us.
  20. But since they didn't welcome us with open arms and flowers, we killed over 600,000 of them in three years. Pretty impressive. Either that's an awful lot of evildoer terrorists or someone's got some 'splainin to do. I'm not making light of it. It is totally disgusting, appalling, horrifying - and whatever GW Bush and his ilk get here, or in the hereafter, for engineering this needless waste of human life, they deserve.
  21. So in other words had it been possible to shoot down the two planes on 9/11, that would have been a bad thing?
  22. It was Cory Lidle. RIP Cory.
  23. Uh I thought we had safety measures in place to monitor aircraft and take appropriate action if they got too close? I hope everyone's ok, but I doubt it.
  24. Ah but a good positioning statement sets forth what makes them UNIQUE. This is not unique among media. They are all biased one way or another. It's up to the individual to be informed and sort out the truth instead of swallowing pablum. How about "This ain't a welfare state - figure it out yourself". Right.
